@frank patrol @tranquil helm About inspiration and this kind of thing: I just recently understood that poses are essencial, but not as much important as mood or colors can be, so I'm hunting the mood. And that was the reason why I was frustrated by my first pose I choose for contest entry: I just started and then realised that I would loose the original mood I wanted to express under the anatomy and realistic perspective things. So I spend, idk... Around 2 or 3 weeks by brainstorming - gathered all Sieg's refs I could find, listened to Black Eyed Peas' songs, watched a lot of surfing Go-Pro videos, water, waves photos and suddenly BOOM - I did a lot of work just yesterday and I almost finished everything. HimekoWTF
So as for me - poses are cool, but it can turn to trash when you realise that it's not smth you really wish to see, even if it's cool as hell. And agree with Bones, I uses the same methods.

Well, I just used to think that "the strongest survives" when it comes to my ideas - if you need and really want to, some ideas will hunt you literally for ages, so you'll draw them sooner or later))
As for crysis periods... The things you describe look like art block. If you feel upset about what you do, it's better to take it easy and relax, change your surroundings, or just search for suitable music. Music is 50% of inspiration, it can make you BOOM with art))
