Hmmm, there's probably a translation that exists without that piece but I tried not to look at Niko's translation and gave it a shot myself:
I bought two backups, thinking it'd be bad if one broke when we needed it, and put them in the shoe cabinet, but now I can't find them.
...and it has the "can't find them" part in it too 👀
のに usually lets us drop a lot that we would normally say in English. So while it isn't being said in the JP version, it feels really natural to add in the Eng vers because of how things are expressed differently imo.
But still, probably worth a @steel vault just to be sure. I could potentially add a note about this at the very least ^^
Yeah, that's the feeling I got, too: it's not technically there in the literal words but it's so heavily implied that it might as well be part of the translation.
Hence I figured square brackets rather than either putting it in a note or omitting it? I think I've seen you folks use square brackets like that before?
