- It's cool that NS teaches ィ、 ゥ、 etc. Previously, I've encountered many resources that didn't explain it and then dropped words with it anyway. However, this is only noted as an aside in lessons, while I think is would've been beneficial to do it as ュ、 ョ、 ャ are done. And also in effect explain with which kana they connect.
- Another frequently used aspect of katakana, that's basically never taught, and here NS also doesn't cover it, is 「ヴ」. It's used frequently both in various titles, etc. romanisation of names, and partially borrowed terms (though those more often will use ブ、 バ、 etc.). It's something that really warrants inclusion considering that the frequency of its use.
