im convinced rex is the problem on monsoon because i played as loader for two hours last night & reached stage 7 (no obliterate sadly) without playing nearly as hard as i do when playing as rex. there's too much to think about when playing him, plus he can get overwhelmed very easily if not itemized properly. the simple fact that playing as rex on monsoon since the update only got me to stage 7 once & i barely lasted two minutes in it, but in as little as 2 hours as loader, i get there fairly early within a few runs.

anyone unlock rex's skin yet? im REALLY curious because Rex is a S.O.B. to play with & with the new health regen on monsoon, its infinitely harder to obliterate. i've been maining him since i got the game late September & then worked to get his skin almost everyday since Dec. 10 (Skills 2.0 update). finely street so many runs i got it. i honestly think im the only one but im trying to confirm.

@mystic valley start on easier difficulties and work your way up to monsoon if your just trynna to jump right into it, also it just takes time to get better learn how the enemies attack, you can look up like new player tips and tricks on youtube that will prob help you a bit too

Lunar items can make a run much easier or good rng, but it’s a mixture of being confident in your characters, knowing when to run and when to fight and rng along with how fast you’re going

@manic trail i got 4/8 skins unlocked already lol. idk i feel like every time i play with someone or other people the game crashes a lot (only ever on multiplayer). i never have issues on solo, let alone the fact that i learned a lot about each of the characters' play styles by playing solo. got me really good at the game too (with time of course). i encourage everyone to try to get really good at playing solo, because if you can survive very well solo, you can do well with a like-minded group. that being said i'd rather put the grind in myself than with others lol

I feel like with Deicide you might as well try to get a god run because if you aren't immortal, you're dead meat. No way I could've taken on some of those teleporter events if they didn't just explode on spawn lmao.

Honestly I would advice to not copy Youtubers, find what works for you. TP rush or looting every stage on the first loop. It’s fun to try it out. Woolie is nice, Catonmarz has awesome gameplay on YouTube as well. Bisnap comes to mind as well.

I can't stress enough. I get frustrated by some of the nonsense in this game because I really do love what Hopoo has made.

I hope they fix this stuff because every update has gotten more and more out of hand with the regular enemy spawns being waayyyy harder than bosses more often than not.

@manic trail i haven’t yet, but that has been happening way more often since skills 2.0 update. every single obliteration run i had, has had at least one portal not spawn a boss

i havent done any transcendence runs with any characters other than commando & that was early sept. i cant really tell but for me arti was really fun to get comfortable with & getting her skin. i had close to the same difficulty with arti’s skin as i did with rex, so dont expect quick results unless rng blesses you!

The only characters transcendence is viable on are characters who have a lot of mobility or immunity frames. Huntress with triple blink, mercenary or loader are the only ones I can recommend getting this item on. And it’s only really worth getting if you’re playing on monsoon because of the reduced passive healing. So with mobile characters such as those listed above they have the potential to stay out of combat long enough for the shields to regenerate (which do so faster than passive regen even with a couple of slugs or standard healing items) the only other real telling sign of whether or not you should get it is if you really don’t have any healing items or not enough to keep you alive. The extra health you get from it is nice for the health pool, but because of it rendering healing items basically useless other than Aegis proq or nu kahana proqs. It’s really only good on characters who can utilize it well, on a difficulty where the risk reward benefit is high enough and with the lack There of items that would replace it.
TLDR :mobile characters, monsoon, no/not enough healing items (short runs only) @humble sparrow

On the surface RoR2 is just a classic based 3rd person shooter with roguelite/bullet hell elements.

#

Under the hood you got a bunch of systems at play that you can take advantage of in someways and others you can't control but its good to know.

#

Multiplayer is a whole different game. Things cost more, communication and sharing items is important, optimizing teams so people aren't stepping on toes with regards to items so to speak.

I been experimenting with Transcedence myself with couple characters so I wanted to hear what people here had to say.

#

Some of these characters are also tiered with slight variances between console and PC. I feel aerial enemies like wisps are much more difficult on controller than M+Kb. Commando and Arti feels snappy on PC but require chops on console.

#

Loader is also much more difficult on console. You just have to play a little different and accept some of the disadvantages of playing something that was originally made for PC in mind.

you are absolutely right, the same goes with rex on console. to make proper use of his L1 ability (the disperse blast thing) you want to use it for mobility to get around the map faster. the best way to do that is to have your look sensitivity turned all the way up & i dont think a lot of people are used to that. same with merc too when using his L1
