Hey, I have an issue with my dedicated server?

The server has worked perfectly for the past update but this last one seemed to break it.
I manged to tweak the server config file to at least allow us to get to the character selection but when we push though we get a black screen.

Can I get any help - I've had this game for some time now and it only worked if I ran it with Integrated Graphics and not my Nvidia Graphics, but it was very laggy. When I run with Nvidia the app will start and I hear the title music, but the game won't display. And now when I try and run the game with integrated graphics it will run but won't display. I really enjoy this game and I would enjoy it more if it could run on my computer without lagging.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, I have verified the integrity of the game files, I have updated, uninstalled, and reinstalled my graphics cards, and I am completely lost when it comes to what I should do next.

I have an Acer Predator 15 laptop (runs GTA V with great graphics), an Nvidia Geforce GTX 980M with an Intel Core i7 processor.

I would greatly appreciate any help, thank you for your time

Only Risk of Rain 2 jumps straight to 100% GPU usage when running, any known fix or at least cause for this? only started with this update.
Was playing with my headphones on didnt hear the cooling system struggling for an hour until I felt the heat radiating out from the walls of the case X_X definitely cant play this again until its solved. Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6GB

Hey there, I've looked everywhere and there is no solution for it. I cannot join any multiplayer match with my friend. They invite me in the lobby and as soon the lobby host press "start private match" my screen goes black and it goes back the menu. I've had this problem since I got the game and I've noticed there are many other players such as me with the same problem but without a solution. Is there anything to fix this problem cause it is a lost since this games is a great title. Any help would be much appreciated. (p.s I haven't gone through this chat yet, so I don't know if there is already a solution for it)

Hey, does anyone know why my game doesnt start? Im running Arch Linux, and changing proton versions does not help. It worked flawlessly on Pop!_OS before the update, but then i switched to Arch and the game updated and now it doesnt work.
Im using i3-gaps but ive tried on XFCE4 and it did not work there either.

@crisp lotus Yes, provided that you run it off Parallels Desktop. It's far from great, there's a bunch of lag, and textures take a while to load in, but it's playable

Having issues with multiplayer, trying to join a friend using steam invites either does not do anything (nothing changes) or puts us in a black screen that eventually returns to the main menu. Using clipboard lobby greys out all the options but invite friends but does not put us in a lobby

Having issues with multiplayer. Speedtest says my connection is fine, but literally every single lobby in quickmatch where I'm not host, I have seconds of delay when doing things like placing turrets, sending messages, or activating items, although enemies move around and damage me with no visible delays. The delay can be up to 20 seconds. I am having no latency issues, and every other multiplayer game on my computer runs fine.

um, after the artifacts update, the game started to be unplayable, im on a gaming laptop thats always ran this game at 80-100 fps on max settings, but after the update i can only get 4-6 fps, no idea why this happened but i cant play in the meantime

But upon starting the game it got stuck on the early access disclaimer screen with a non functioning button.

Heyah, so just spent like 3 hours in a single run trying to unlock some relics and stuff, and on the 21st stage when entering the teleporter to go for the next stage, my screen turns black and theres no sound anymore. I can still open esc menu and play around with settings, but nothing more. Any way I can salvage this or just accept that i wasted those hours?

DoDo, run task manager and see if anything is bottlenecking. That would give us a clue. Also make sure something else isn't taking up resources

We really can't figure this out, I've tried port forwarding, we've tried verifying integrity, checking our firewalls. The issue seems to be just with us connecting to eachother, we get an abnormally long black loading screen and then an empty lobby with the artifact tab messed up and no ability to select anything

Hey, does anyone know why my game doesnt start? Im running Arch Linux, and changing proton versions does not help. It worked flawlessly on Pop!_OS before the update, but then i switched to Arch and the game updated and now it doesnt work.
Im using i3-gaps but ive tried on XFCE4 and it did not work there either.

Multiplayer issues are being reported by a lot of people. It sounds like a game error, or everyone just happens to have a crappy connection. Not sure what to recommend there.

Actually, i think ive found something. In htop something called "UnityCrashHandler64.exe" is running, and since i dont have anything related to unity other than RoR2 its probably something to do with that

It's not a known issue, but it does fall under the blanket issue of "connection errors". Either one of your connections are bad, or the game itself is borked. @plush berry

Heyo, since the last update I am having quite annoying game freezes. These last for a few seconds (anywhere from 2 to 5) and occur at least once a minute. It's not an FPS issue since the game continues from when it froze, no time jump occurs game-wise. Looking at the performance manager, the only thing out of the ordinary is that the GPU usage drops to 0 during the freeze. This occurs both modded and unmodded. I have tried both validating game files and reinstalling, neither of which worked. Changing graphical settings also does not change anything.

@young quartz I haven't played Risk of Rain 2 for a while, but then the other day I re-downloaded it after the latest patch and the game would boot to a black screen and the app will stop responding (doesn't even crash, just keeps loading on a black screen until I click on it and windows prompts me to close it).

I tried a bunch of stuff like updating my GPU drivers, restarting steam, restarting my computer but none of these was a permanent solution. Sometimes after restarting my computer it does boot and I can play no problem, but after closing it and trying again, same black screen. I heard other people with this problem but I found no definitive answer. I also deleted my save file (oof, but unlocking everything again is not a big deal) and it worked for one boot. Could I send you my output_log file?

So my friend was able to play the game with me before just fine before this update, and even after this update, he was able to play with someone else that's even further away in the world... But whenever he tries to play with me now, either him hosting or I hosting, we get massive desync to the point it's absolutely unplayable.
As soon as we press the "Start Private Game" button, when I'm hosting, he'll get the black screen for loading as usually, but it lasts a very long time, and by the time he finally sees the character select/lobby screen, not all the stuff has loaded in properly and it takes a good 20 seconds just to change characters- Vice versa for myself when he's hosting.
We ARE able to start a game, but when I'm hosting, I load in about 20 seconds before him and when he does drop that 20 second desync isn't amended. Again, vice versa for when he tries to host.
We tried having a third friend of ours host, which didn't work, and all three of us tried fresh-reinstalling the game (Uninstall through steam, delete whatever remains of the RoR2 folder, re-install) and that didn't work either.
We also made sure he was up to date with the latest graphics drivers, and windows updated as well.

Hey guys, not sure if this is the best place to bring my question; since morning of yesterday I have been unable to get into the game. I'm getting the Early_Access_Disclaimer text on the opening page and am unable to continue.

I was able to find the forum/bugfix page and tried the solutions provided there, including resetting my save file, checking time zones, etc.

I am able to play on my laptop, although I have lost my save file information.

The only odd thing is that I have 2 save files in the folder. I'm happy to provide additional info or answer questions if needed.

My ping in discord goes up like crazy and speedtest says that my download speed drops to 0.05 MB/s. This doesnt happen with any other game. I've seen a few posts on the internet of people with similiar problems but no solution. Does anybody know what i can do? I've reinstalled the game but it changed nothing.

Before the update, I got this same thing but with a different error code. The game will randomly crash in the middle of the game, for no apparent reason. In multiplayer, I can restart the game and join back in but it will usually just crash a few minutes later. I'm hoping someone can help out with this.

Hey all -

Recently I started to get a EARLY_ACCESS_DISCLAIMER bug. However, none of the official/unofficial solutions worked. I tried the following (in no particular order):

Verifying the game cache
Changing / verifying the time zone
Reinstalling VC++ 2015
Reinstalling RoR2
Restarting the computer
Deleting the save file
Replacing the contents of the save file with

The pastebin link listed in the pinned messages
My profile contents

Starting Steam in offline mode and launching RoR2

I verified that my save file isn't be corrupted, because my friend copied my contents into a new profile on his installation and it worked just fine. Is there anything we missed that's worth trying?

My friend is getting this bug while trying to launch the game. We've tried uninstalling both steam and the game, but that didn't work. We also tried fixing his user profiles, but he doesn't have that folder path (the one that looks like D:\Steam\userdata\USERNUMBER\632360\remote\UserProfiles)) since he just downloaded the game and I guess the game doesn't create that folder path unless he gets to the main menu? Has anyone dealt with this or does anyone know of a fix for this? For further context, we've also tried having him use a working profile(mine) by manually creating that aforementioned folder path and that didn't work. Additionally, we've tried replacing his Risk of Rain 2 folder in this directory: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Risk of Rain 2) with mine since mine works, but that also didn't work.

My friend is having issues with the game, he hasn't played since near launch so he only recently launched it, the game seems to think he is running on gamepad despite never using any sort of gamepad, his mouse is disabled and so is any keyboard inputs

since the new artifacts update my game literally has been crashing to no ends and i can no longer play it.

Yes, it os relevant for me, becouse I am afraid that next game I love will follow Pandemix Express that had identicall "problem". You know how it ended? Game had so many issues that more than 40% of alpha playerbase left and game model was changed to free to play with microtransactions

If you'd look at the patch notes the Developers release, you can see some of them have a 🌧️ next to them, that means they're community-reported/suggested things

Running into a lot of lag when playing with my NA friend (I'm EU). Lots of disconnects and generally input seems to not send properly while the lagspikes are going on. Our connection towards each other is around 90-120ms ping which suffices in most other games (minecraft modded, rocket league, brawlhalla, overwatch, etc). We've both tried hosting and the non-host almost always suffers to the point where it becomes unplayable. Is this a known issue? Are there any fixes in place?

Me and my friend bought this game 2 days ago 'cause it looked nice. And it is nice, so after 2 hours of testing we decided to keep the game. Next day the game doesn't work at all. Today same thing. I got 4 minutes delay right at the start and my friend got in stage 3 before I had even 50% of teleport loaded in stage 1...

There's no info about lags or anything on the games Twitter etc. How to fix this?

Regarding the issue of horrible game delay in multiplayer, I might have found a fix

My network profile was set to public before and switching it to private allowed me to actually play multiplayer

i tried playing with my friends earlier and we noticed a particular problem when joining. myself and two of my friends were perfectly fine and able to join and were visible in the lobby, but one of my friends weren't capable of joining the lobby. when she tried making her own lobby and invited us, she was unable to see us in the lobby but we could all see each other. we've retried multiple times and it doesn't seem to work. she's reinstalled the game, and has restarted her computer and we're about to try it one more time, but if it doesn't work again, what should we do?

Yep that's strange, played yesterday with a friend and everything was fine. Tried reinstalling the game on other SSD drive, same issue. Tried forcing using D3D9, same issue. Tried minimizing GPU usage by playing at 720p 60fps, same issue. I just reinstalled all drivers, i'll try again now :/

It didn’t happen with any rhyme or reason. Some runs are fine. But I’ve tried three times to get the commando loadout only for my computer to lock up on stage 14 😛

So when i tried to join his lobby i had a ~15 second delay on anything, pressing ready,changing survivors and so on, it was basically unplayable.
when our friend join his loby they don't have a problem at all.

when i open up a lobby he has the delay but our friends don't have the delay in my lobby
and when our second friend opens up the lobby i have a delay again

I have been playing risk of rain 2 a great deal in the last two weeks as I enjoy the game greatly. I went to log in and play today and hours of my progress were gone... I had all but a few items unlocked, 9 of 16 artifacts, all but 3 monster logs, all but about 6 map logs, and all item logs except for 5 (2 unlocked and not found, and 3 not yet unlocked), as well as majority of unlockables for each of the characters and at least half of all the achievements... Is there any way to restore this progress?

@wanton hinge unstable connections can cause that, steam servers seem to be a bit picky about that kinda thing, desync is often the cause of it, you should try having someone else be the host, or try hosting a private server

By private, I mean opening your own server, not with the private server button, cause that goes through steam as far as I'm aware
Also do keep in mind that with the current world events rn, a lot of servers can be unstable, other games that are sensible to desync (Like overwatch for example) are impacted, especially when it comes to connecting to another region, so if you're experiencing too much issues, and one of your friend isn't on the same server type as you, you should try to play only with people of your region, see if that fixes it
