ive gotten ror2 to run well once in the last few weeks. it was after a windows update and playing one round of destiny 2. tried playing destiny 2 before playing ror2 again and didn't get good frames on either this time, so now i'm not even sure if it's a general computer issue despite my good specs or if its still ror2 specific

When I try to connect to multiplayer my character doesn't show up in lobby, and I can't ready up, but I can see every other player in lobby changing characters and everything. Can't even play multiplayer because of this bug

check to make sure that direct 3d is installed correctly and/or troubleshoot it

try updating directX, or, try rolling drivers back
you need to make sure this isn't a user-side issue if you're going to ping hopoo lol

@stuck patrol new idea: remove one of the RAM sticks entirely and play. if it crashes, swap the stick.

if it's a problem with the RAM sticks themselves, then it's possible the problem only exists in one of them

(you shouldn't need more than 8gb for the game, even the recommended specs say 4gb)

you can also try using each RAM stick by itself in each of the four slots, so there's up to 8 different ways to try this

so i upgraded my rig to Asus strix GTX 1080, AMD ryzen 7 3700x, ASRock x570 steel legend, tridentz 16 gb ddr4 3200mhz, corsair rm 650x psu

for me the biggest performance increase came from forcing real full screen, the game only lets you chose borderless full screen. To enable this right click the steam game, go to properties, click custom launch parameters and put: -window-mode exclusive

Hey, I have encountered the "EARLY_ACCESS_DISCLAIMER" bug and managed to fix it. It seems that the problem spawns from what operating system you are using. If you were originally operating on windows 10 and ror cloud saves, you can not play on an older operating system like windows 8.1. I encountered this bug when i got a new laptop with windows 8.1 and the issue resolved it self when I installed windows 10 as my previous saves was made on the operating system of windows 10.

Hi, i 've been having some issues with the new maps where the game crashes when im about to enter one of the knew maps(Scorched Acres & Siren´s Call), it was ok, i was still able to play the game. But now it crashes at the start or when i start a new game. I dont know what to do to fix it and i've done most of the things in the Bug Repots Section of Discussions. new to the game, my first multiplayer pick up group I lagged out and disconnected about 20 minutes in.

I created a new game, I had 3 other players in the lobby, they all disconnect at once.

@pallid ibex i crashed on rally point delta and its currently a black screen for me. Many people have reported this crash. How can i help to resolve it?
I see unity crash handler process and ror2.

figured I'd ask. Any tips for better performance? I already neutered settings, Alt+Enter for proper Unity Fullscreen and set priority to High/Realtime in TM. Was just wondering if anyone had any strong tips for bumping frames, as my Afterburner readout on both my machines (i5-3570K OC 4.2, GTX 970 SC & i7-7700/GTX1060) is very messy with nowhere close to high usage for any of my components. Would appreciate it.

Also I tried to run the game at 1440p for an experiment and the max frame cap, on both my TV and my monitor (both 60hz) was 30. I then tried to change the game to 4K in the in-game video settings and it just straight up didn't work. lol

and FWIW, I know that future updates will continue to smooth out the game, as the Skills 2.0 update did boost my frames in heavy sections at about a 6FPS average. 14 to 22 frames with multiple magma worms on screen in Rallypoint is still far from ideal, though, obviously, as my GPU sat at 28% UTL and none of my CPU cores were working past 35%. js

If anyone has had the same problem i have been having where the game is suddenly running on 10ish frames after the update regardless of high or low settings, i fixed this issue by going into the Nvidia control panel, going into manage 3D settings, then clicking on manage power settings, and switching it from optimal to Prefer high performance. I dont know why Risk of Rain is bottlenecking compared to how i could run more graphically intensive games like witcher 3 with no dip below 60FPS, but this has fixed my problem and the game has gone back to well over 120FPS.

I'm very privy to these sorts of things. I was wondering if something like a rendering issue with a specific effect was screwing with the framerate, like in GTA where the Anisotropic Filtering setting has to match in NVCP and in game for smooth 60 FPS with no stuttering

PC gaming is often fickle like that. I'm almost 100% sure this is purely a CPU usage issue related to how difficult it is for small teams to optimize Unity on multi-core CPUs

as generally the major slowdown is not with graphically intensive effects but with hit/proc calculations in the background and perhaps enemy behavior

no problem. People with 400 dollar CPUs, like the 9700K, have told me they see negligible performance drops when overclocked to exorbitant clock speeds like 4.8 GHz

Higly doubt it will do something about cpu related issues. As i was told unity is not well paraleled to spread load on whole cpu cores, it uses 1. And game runs better on better single core performance cpu's.
Its kinda engine issues so i doubt devs gonna switch from cu3 to this specific one. They never told they would. But they did told that game will be polished.

I don't know how tech savvy you are but just a few more things. Try updating your GPU drivers as well as your BIOS and Chipset.
With the hardware you specified above as well, I'd highly recommend sticking with 1080 to 1440 resolution, not 4k.
Also, I know you are getting crazy stutter, but if you do end up getting better frames at some point, turn off v-sync. Adds terrible input lag.
I have hardware on par with yours if not worse and I have no problems pushing 120fps. It has to be some odd driver or game engine incompatibility making your CPU and GPU throttle. It could also have to do with power states of your CPU.

BIOS and Chipsets are 100% updated for both motherboards. Grpahics drivers are updated the day they come out. UBM has all components in both machines well above their average mark.

According to people I've talked with knowledgeable of the situation, it's a classic Unity CPU throttle. Performance problems with this game reside all over the internet with a simple search.

I have both PCs set to Ultimate performance. I'm going to look into CPU power output, but as I've said before, this is really the only game I have issues with. I play PCars, Prey, Destiny 2, Left 4 Dead 2 & Forza Horizon 4 on the 1060 near maxed out at 1080p and Hot Pursuit at 4k60 maxed with zero issues. This is the only game right now giving me performance problems. Considering three people made the game, and with each update a slight performance boost occurs, that's not a surprise.

I'm running the game through Proton on a Linux system, and the only way I've found to get past it is to open a VM and load the game inside of it or boot into a Windows partition and then copy the save file from them. And every update it appears to come back.

I am also having performance issues.
When in the menus, the game properly asks my GTX 970 for high clocks.
As soon as gameplay starts, the clocks are down. This is not a temperature issue, those are down from in the menu.

So a friend of mine has a problem (and he doesnt want to go here for support for some reason) but basically, all of us in our friend group can connect to each other, but he cannot connect to us, we can't connect to him. we can get into the multiplayer tab lobby, but the moment we choose to go into a private lobby or even just quickplay, whoever isn't hosting gets a softlock blackscreen and never loads. Any ideas?

Edit: I finally fixed it with Ear Trumpet. Seems like it was a Windows issue. Windows randomly decide to mute the game's audio channel.

I would verify your game installs. Also, try playing in unique pairs if you have more then two people in the group (you and friend 1, see if it crashes, then you and friend 2, see if it crashes)
Then you can isolate who is making it crash.

Hey guys, I'm having an issue. When I launch the game (from anywhere - desktop, steam, ror2 program folder) the game 'opens up' but stays as a small title bar that I can minimize, close, and move. There seems to be a sliver of the game underneath the title bar?
This happened after a friend and I had let a run sit at the lunar shop for several hours and his computer restarted. I exited the game, came back a couple hours later, and this happens. He can open his ror2 just fine, though.
Things I've tried -
Restarting comp (once)
Uninstalled/Reinstalled RoR2 (several times)
Deleting all RoR2 files I know and reinstalling
Verified game files in Steam (several times)
Drivers are up to date
And everything relevant in the pinned messages (Changed the userprofile.xml in notepad, disabled antivirus)

Yea, I tried deleting save data in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\X\632360\remote\UserProfiles, as well as both boot.config and the entire Config folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Risk of Rain 2\Risk of Rain 2_Data. I tried both running w/o them and running after verifying the game on steam and either it did nothing or just wouldn't run w/o verifying.

@undone lichen I was having that issue recently. For some odd reason when I pick Artificier and had like 5 items my game just died on me. The screen froze, mouse was next, keyboard too and finally I had no choice but to reboot my PC. Major difference it that it happens minutes from a online sessions. It happen twice in a row.

@west mist Be sure that windows is initially set at 144hz (the display properties). Also be sure that your driver's (GeForce Experience or AMD equivalent software) aren't pushing a 60hz profile on the game. I'm assuming you set the refresh to 120hz in the game too.

Is it only with ROR2? BSOD normally stems from weird driver incompatibility that is not limited to individual games. Can also come from outdated driver's, or badly seated hardware. All of which would make more games than just ROR2 make the PC BSOD.

i have a loader glitch that doesnt let me fire off my charged gauntlet and goes on cooldown instead. happens everytime i play loader but occurs about 80% of the time when i use the skill. really sucks cause i like the character but the core part of her loadout doesnt work for me and i dont know how to fix it

Look in your devices for any other controller devices and remove them. Also, unplug any controllers/joysticks ect.
@surreal oar, do any other characters exhibit similar weirdness with the same attack button? (Whatever you press for the punch)?
@hallow peak other than driver updates and such, I'm not sure what to suggest. If you have your cpu or gpu overclocked, I would suggest turning it down maybe? I was having problems crashing a month ago because my CPU clock was unstable.

I don't know if this has been happening to other people, but every so often when I start up a new match as loader my charged guantlet is being charged without me having pressed any buttons, as well there tab menu opened. Both are resolved after I press their regular keybind, but was wondering if other people experienced this and if there was a good to it I wasn't aware of

@icy frigate I haven't used DS4 is quite a while, but is it possible to bind your controllers buttons to keyboard keys with the program? I'm not sure how ROR2 treats controllers vs. keyboards and such. Or are you just trying to straight emulate an Xbox controller?

What have you tried so far to fix? The normal avldvice is verify/reinstall game files. Update drivers. If that doesn't work submit a bug report. Maybe someone else has a work-around for you

As the game starts, try unplugging your other USB devices (i.e. your mouse) and see if that helps. Also, I see that you are using some type of controller program down on your task bar? Is that DS4? Be sure keybinds are correct.

Hm. Off of the main menu, you can check on the characters achievements separate from the character selection. Do the achievements shown as unlocked in there?

I'm crashing pretty consistently about 10 - 15 after starting the game. I've always had problems with the game crashing, but usually it'll run for 2 - 3 hours before doing so. Not sure what is causing the increased crash rate or the crashing in the first place, does using dual-monitors cause this problem?

I had a problem when I pushed my ddr4 3000 ram to ddr4 3000 with the XMP profile. I backed it down to 2933 and I've been sitting pretty. I also backed down an overclock to not be so aggressive.

Try the driver role back and tell me what you get. If it works, go ahead and do the chipset + bios. Should help performance anywho a little

I've had my FPS drop to 15 because of how many enemies there are at stage 36 and the game keeps chugging so even with Max performance, it's got to be a driver/unity failure rather than the game just running hard.

There was a fellow in here about 5 days ago with the same problem. I would maybe recommend making a copy of your save files after every unlock? If they get messed up then just put in the backup

Anyone having issues with refresh rate? I have it set to 144hz and i have a 144hz monitor, yet the game runs as if it's really set on something lower. It's not an fps issue (not that kind of rough, and fps stays high) but it seems more to me like it isn't running as "buttery smooth" as it should be. I didn't always have issues with this, but now I do and don't know how I could get rid of it.

Also try some lower graphics settings and report back. When I hear of game stuttering and not smooth it either is: inconsistent framerate ie screen tearing, or it is your cpu throttling and creating frame dips.
Also, are you running a freesync or gsync setup?
Also update drivers etc. etc. Even on your chipset and bios too

Whenever I try to change what refresh rate I’m using in the in game setting it’s stuck on 144hz. After setting it lower and then clicking apply, I exit out of the settings and go back and it’s magically back to 144hz. Also, im not running a gsync setup. All of my drivers are up to date but I’ll check out my bios and lower some settings and report back.

It is not an official support section. I would suggest putting in a bug report.
Update drivers, bios and chipset included and then verify game files as see if that helps at all. If it's only been recently, maybe roll back some drivers.

Is there a way to wipe the controller binds? I have a lot of flight sim peripherals but I only play ROR2 with M+KB and for some reason the game automatically bound a lot of the controller controls to my various axis and buttons which are often not perfectly centered/zeroed (My throttle and rudder pedals are especially bad).

The game suddenly isn't recognizing my profile anymore. If I install it on my SSD, it tries to create a user profile on my HDD, and won't read the other drive. But it never did this before. Even copy/pasting the profile doesn't work, nor does changing the install directory from my SSD to my HDD. Are my 120 hours just dead now? I really don't want to start from scratch.

I don't know what it is, but ever since burning acres my GPU has been crashing at about the 20 minute mark from overdraft. For reference, prior to Burning acres I could go up to 80 minutes before that happens

I have heard of people's profiles getting corrupted/deaded. I would save a backup now and look for some tutorial on how to restore a profile. If it doesn't work, your save files is probably dead. In the future, maybe take manual saves once and a while.

It is an intense map. When I was overclocked I had crashing around the 20 minute mark too. I lowered my overclock and did a bios/chipset/video driver update and was good to go

@steady tundra I haven't seen any specific fixes. Update drivers/chipset/bios, verify game files and see if it helps.

Okay sure, but it's not specifically burning acres doing it. It's the game as a whole so I assume an asset used frequently had been adjusted and made more intensive.

I'm trying to figure out a way around my issue without having to unplug my peripherals whenever I want to play.

It used to be tolerable and only caused a slight movement that was hardly noticeable, but now some control is just activating and leaving the info screen up, so the game is literally un-playable for me if I have my stuff plugged in.

Hmm. I don't know of a way to lock in a binding type. Maybe is some config file you could force it? Or disable the other peripherals through device administrator?. If the game recognizes any other control peripheral than it will use that setup and unplugging is a hassle. Do other games get affected like this? @balmy marsh

Most other games either let you un-bind or delete controls (I still don't know why I can't do this in ROR2) or you can dig through an INI file or something and delete the controls there (I had to do that for ACIV and a couple other games)

ROR2 is the only one that's actually given me a lot of trouble

Which is why I don't want to deal with unplugging all of my stuff only for it

It's possible there is some control file for ROR and I just haven't found it yet, but I have no clue where it is.

Yeah the theory is it has to be very common of an asset if it reduced me down to such a low timer allotance. My biggest theory right now, is the flame particles. Like those on the imps. Most of the time I crashed, I had a lot of imps on screen. Its either that or particles in general.

@turbid fog I actually managed to fix it. I just copied over the actual contents of the profile file to a new one that I made, and everything worked out. I still don't know why it wouldn't recognize my SDD after having done so before, though. Might be something on Steam's end too. Thanks for the response.

@balmy marsh I know what you mean now. If I was at my PC I would totally start looking but I will not be available to do it for a while. I would suggest posting in the feedback section and maybe submit a bug report. Other than that, it's pretty much a fundamental feature that can't be "fixed" yanno? Unless hoppo decides to add it.

@spiral spoke ahhh that makes sense. There are a few graphics sections regarding flames and particles. Off the top of my head LOD lighting comes to mind.

@thorny mesa That's great! I'm not sure why. Something having to do with game being installed in one place, then another, but internally it is only pointed to the original for saves perhaps

@balmy marsh In my brain I was like "something has to be activated for it to switch control schemes" so that's good! Just don't hit your throttle I guess? Maybe harder than I'm making it sounds if it's mounted on your desk.

@spiral spoke play with the graphics settings regarding light/shadows and see if anything turned down will help. I would suggest turning everything to low and then turn up one setting at a time to see what is causing the crash

Well sure, that'd normally be a ideal method but considering the crash is inconsistent and takes anywhere between 10 to 40 minutes to happen with no idea what the trigger could be for certain its really hard to pin down

Shadow sharpness and some of the lighting stuff.
Best way to do this type of thing is to experiment as well. Helps grow your internal knowlegde
I wouldn't use vsync ever just because I hate mouse lag and it does this to eliminate visual stuttering.

Me and my friend are trying to play together, but he cannot host or join any games. When he hosts and i join, i cannot select my character, nor can i ready up, and then i get kicked back to main menu after around 30-40 seconds. When i host he has the same issue. He cannot connect to quickplay at all, but i can. Is there a known fix to this issue?

So I’ve been interested in this game for a while, and the only thing holding me back is my GPU, which doesn’t meet the minimum requirements (Intel Iris Plus G7). I’m a bit conflicted since I’ve seen videos of people running the game with older iGPUs at ~30 FPS. I would like to know how well a low end GPU holds up during graphically intense moments like boss fights. (Since it’s an iGPU the CPU model probably matters: mine is i7-1056G7 @1.3-3.9 GHZ

@lusty grove i have a pretty old graphics card and i get pretty good frames, as long as you dont care about actual beauty of the game and turn everything off or to very low then you are good and can withstand most things, although later in the game at 45-60 minutes you will receive some frame drops but it wasnt too bad for me. Hope this helps.

try setting it to fullscreen and setting the resolution to your native resolution and monitor refresh rate then setting the file to read only

Do note it wont remember any graphical setting you adjust while in game, you'll need to set the file off read only and edit them in and set it back

Try updating all drivers including chipset+ bios
Also, ROR2 does not require any port forwarding or firewall allowances unless you purposely have locked down your network more. By default, it shouldn't need anything

Past stage 20 and up when the game starts spawning in bosses instead of regular enemies....it doesnt matter what hardware you have. It WILL drop to 15 fps haha
But really, just manage your graphics settings and no vsync and you should be good

Also, I'll be away for about a week so have fun friends.

you just edited it wrong, you can follow instructions on how to properly edit it in a new file and you'll be fine

whenever you edit files like that, make sure you create a backup of the original

if I had to guess, I'd assume you simply pasted in the achievement text wrong, so maybe try copying that entire achievement list from your friend and making sure the formatting is correct

Game is completely broken for me since the update. Every hotkey shows up as "unknown" and my cursor moves to the ground on its own. I think the game is trying really hard to believe that it's being used with a controller, even though I don't even have a controller. Confusion.

(Edit: Uninstalling vjoy fixed it, I'm still confused as to why a program could affect a game without even running, and not too excited about having to reinstall and uninstall it constantly, but at least the problem is fixed!)

@torn basin afaik vjoy installs some drivers such that it's always on, just usually not used, (especially since vjoy basically provides a puppet controller that it doesnt influence on its own).

@rancid kraken as far as I know ror2 doesn't have any mouse acceleration, I just tested ingame and there isn't any. It sounds like you're talking about a high sensitivity instead, which can be adjusted.

I'm not sure, I last used my controller a couple days ago. In #ror2-bug-reports-pc Roni said that my buttons coming up as "Unknown" are caused usually from a controller being plugged in. I might just have to restart my comp, cuz it probably still thinks it's plugged in

I don't use a controller so I can't be 100% sure but I'm pretty sure the pointer with the circle is shown when a controller is in use so I think it is getting your mouse movements as a control stick input and accelerating based on how long you are 'holding' that input (fairly typical)

Changing the look sensitivity didn't change the speed of it. Also, Funnynin what I mean by Mouse Acceleration is, in some games, if you turn it on, it increases your mouse speed over time. So like, if you do slow movements without going far, the mouse will be slow, while if you jolt the mouse from one screen to the other, it'll increase the speed really high since you're moving it further

I just checked in the controller tab just in-case, and it does label all of the button maps as "Unknown" so, it does seem to think I'm using a controller which is hella weird

typically, mouse acceleration means that the faster you move your mouse, the more it moves per distance (ie the higher the sensitivity), so if you move your (physical) mouse the same distance at different speeds, the faster speeds will move the pointer (on the screen) more, even though the distance physically travelled is the same.

I have never seen or heard the term mouse acceleration be used to describe your situation, although I know it's something commonly done with controllers, and I'm also pretty sure the game is under the impression you're using a controller.

((as an aside, mouse acceleration is enabled by default under the name "enhance pointer precision" in windows; this is probably why cock maw told you to disable it, even though it appears to be totally unrelated to your situation))

Update: I restarted my computer and opened RoR, it was still happening.

I then removed my Xbox controller as a device then restarted the game and it is still happening.

I plugged in my controller again, my computer recognized it and set it up to be used, then I restarted the game again and it's still happening

you probably missed a < or > somwhere or pasted somthing in the wrong spot. you have to be careful , one mistake will corrupt the whole file. to curcumvent this you can save a coppy before you go to town and if the new one is corupted replace with the old one. (im not gonna spell check this)

Is their a way to keep the cursor in the game, it's showing up on both my monitors even though the game is only on one screen. Also when I start I am stuck staring at the sky I cannot seem to view level I would just snap back to looking straight up. Just got the game on steam

Found the problem, unplug your joystick and throttle they interfere with the game.

Computer seems to keep crashing when I play. It's relatively inconsistent so I can get some whole runs in and then I'm just in the main menu and it'll just die. It's not just the game, my computer just outright shuts off completely. Relatively new issue and it's only happened when I had the game open

Howdy all, setting up a Dedicated Server on an edition of Windows Server 2012 R2 is giving me issues. It seems like the launcher is hanging after a certain point, and there are a lot of errors with shaders and what not. The dedicated server is not listening on any ports either, which I have been testing on Server and Desktop versions of Windows. Looking for a discussion:

Am I missing pre-requisite drivers for the game?
Anyone else get this all up and running? What's the console look like when the game is fully up?
Is this not even worth being set up on a Server version of Windows? Should I just go desktop?

So I've been playing with my brother, and we constantly are getting kicked out of our game 30 min into it for no reason. Both of our screens go black, and the main menu music starts playing. The only way we are able to do anything is hit esc where the menu pops up, as if you are still in-game. We hit return to main menu and lose all of our progress. I’m playing myself calmly for about 4 hours. AS Suddenly, the game just crashes. Apparently I'm somewhere, I overflowed some variable. Now I’m very upset that I can’t see the statistics. How about making a game story? So that even in such cases, you can see the previous races.

@night yarrow I had a little success at hosting a dedicated server on windows server 2019. I removed the "exec server" command and it runs. Unfortunately my server will not list in the master server list. But myself and friends who are remote can connect to it using connect"XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:XXXXX". When the exec server command was left in it would just hang and have tons of the error pictured here.

Hey, my friend cannot hear music in the game. However, if he goes into the prismatic trial menu, music starts back up, but when he starts any sort of game, its silent. We can still hear sounds, but we cannot hear music. Anyone else have this sort of problem and know a fix? We have already tried reinstalling it and restarting it. We also tried fidgeting around with the settings to no avail.

@night yarrow No worries, it was bugging me anyway. It should work on windows server 2012 R2. I assume you've allowed the exe file through the firewall and your router is configured correctly. make sure the only files in the config folder are config.cfg and server_startup.cfg and you should be golden. If the server starts up properly it will show your IP address at the bottom of the cmd prompt window. Good luck. Also you can edit the server_startup.cfg file to your liking don't remove any lines. I just changed the server name and password. Everything else was the same.

correct. I added a rule in my server firewall to allow inbound connections to "Risk of Rain 2.exe", though for more security though you could just allow those ports (27015 and 27016 by default) aslong as the inbuilt windows server firewall isn't gimping the connection.

Hey Guys! With some help of @unborn scarab I've been able to get a server set up on Windows Server 2012. This I'm sure will apply at least partially for 2016 or 2019 server versions as well, so I figured I would post this here:

Step 1: Sign into Steam Account
Step 2: Installed the RoR2 Game Client like normal.  Launched it once to install Microsoft Visual C++ Runtimes
  OPTIONAL: Just install the MS Visual C++ Runtimes from (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads) without needing the game file
Step 3: Confirmed the following existed in the /Config/ directory: config.cfg, server_startup.cfg?
Step 4: Edited the config files to be in line with what Colours posted earlier, will include full paste after this message.
Step 5: Allowed ports (UDP) and executable through firewall.
Step 6: Confirmed ports opened correctly with 'netstat -a' from the Windows Command Line

Potential Issues Ran Into:
*Shader Errors/Warnings: I Ignored these as obviously my server doesn't have the GPU, but rendering will be done client-side
*Could not load config /Config/XXX.cfg: Ensure all files are loacted in the Config directory of the server (C:%STEAMCMD_DIRECTORY%\steamapps\common\Risk of Rain 2 Dedicated Server\Risk of Rain 2_Data\Config). Seems the server still runs and works without 'autoexec.cfg'.
*NullReferenceException/DllNotFoundException/BufferOverflow: Ensure that you have logged in to the steam client once. If errorss continue, download the original Risk of Rain 2 client. If issues persist, install MS Visual C++ Runtimes
*Ports not listening on server when using 'netstat -a': Every time this has happened there has been one of the errors that I mentioned above in the execution. Watch the output next time you start the server for these errors, or create a batch script that is located in the same folder of the RoR2 Dedicated Server executable, and consists of:
"Risk of Rain 2.exe" > logfile.txt and check out that file after a few minutes of running the server again.
*When the server is up and properly communicating, you should see the following lines at the end of your CMD window that look like the window attached.

Anyone have a workaround on XBOX for when I load into my buddies lobby, I don't actually go to character select, I just sit in the menu with "quick play, private game, etc." greyed out, and if he tries to start the game, it tells me "could not connect". @bold needle are you talking about wanting to host the server on your PC? When you create a private game lobby with you and your friends, you are the one 'hosting' the server and your friends connect to you.

However if you want to host the dedicated server (which is unnecessary unless you want it running all the time) you can host it on your normal desktop and then just have your friends connect to it by givin out your IP

Hey I'm on ps4 and every so often while I'm in the middle of a run the game will just crash out of nowhere this mostly happens when playing multiplayer. Whether I'm hosting the game or not. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening in the future? As it is kind of frustrating to lose a really good run when playing for an hour 1+ on multiplayer.
