Hey, @pallid ibex, have you had any other people report computer locking/freezing issues upon starting up the game, exiting the game through the main menu or otherwise opening up and closing the Steam API (such as inviting friends)? Or any other improvements or discoveries towards issues along these lines? I'm still encountering the same problems as before, even despite giving the game a fresh reinstallation one more time and again making sure to verify my cache a few more times.
Or how about missing/additional files, such as the config folder not being created at all, possibly resulting in all previously modified settings (graphical, audio, et al.) being reverted back to their base settings (100% volume, preset resolution, and so on)?

I've been working my way through suggestions for the chronic BSOD issues I've had. As a result I ended up setting my core affinity for RoR2 to my last 4 cores, which appears to have brought me up to around 120 fps. It's a pretty ridiculous improvement. Has anyone else seen this?

I'm not in front of it, but I believe it's an AMD FX-8350 overclocked to almost 4.9ghz.
It's usually pretty stable, I host hours of 4 player Vermintide 2 on it with no problems, but for whatever reason RoR2 will BSOD 50 minutes in or 5 minutes, 3 times a night or once in 3 nights. No obvious rhyme or reason

Hi I'm new here but you seem to have the same issue that I experience : Drop of FPS from more than 100 to 0 when a boss spawn or when I TAKE an item (not when it spawns on the map). I also saw with MSI AB that when these drops happen both CPU and GPU go to 0% for a second and then start again.

I've scrolled through this thread and have seen some similar posts to some issues I'm having, but everyone's problems seem to stop at the main menu (title_singleplayer, early_access_disclamer, etc...) all my menu buttons are like that. i can play the game just fine, my save isnt corrupted (yet)....but all the item drops have this ITEM_CRITGLASSES_NAME and LOGBOOK_CATEGORY_ITEM description in game and in the logbook. Sorry for the long winded essay but If anyone is willing to help I would greatly appreciably it but I'm not really expecting to get any, but here I go. So for the better part of a year I've been having battery trouble and now it hangs at a precarious 2% at all times and dies immediately when unplugged. As time progresses, I find that the games that my computer is able to play continues to decrease and here's how it happens. It begins with me playing the game and all of a sudden the screen goes black and is unresponsive the only way to get it back is to unplug the power supply and turn on the computer again. After this whenever I try to reopen that game it immediately makes my computer go black and I have to repeat the previous steps to restart it. This happened with Warframe, Kingdom and Castles, BTD 6, and Risk of Rain 2 and since then no amount of uninstalling and reinstalling will fix it so I assume it is a problem with my battery and not the game or steam. It sounds suspiciously similar to the comment above by Kobayen but instead of a power outage my computer died since it can't charge over 2% and my computer shut off. if the computer is more than 1-2 years old you've probably run the battery through a lot of charge / discharge cycles anyways and might need a replacement

but it sounds like a problem with your computer powering itself down when it thinks (or does in fact) not have enough power to run
and risk of rain is just using more power draw with your power saving settings than other applications are, so you're hitting some kind of threshold where your computer is shutting off because it thinks its unpowered

I run the game at 1440p max settings on a gtx 2070, and it runs at about 5 fps. I tried lowering the settings and nothing had fixed the issue. Hi everyone, I'm having issues with the game that I'm not quite sure how to fix. When I start the game up things usually go fine, but when I click on any of the menus my game will freeze for a few minutes, followed up by one of three things, either the game unfreezes and I can continue to play the game without issue, it stays frozen and I am forced to restart my computer, or it blue screens my computer. I haven't had any blue screens aside from playing this game, and I can't open my task manager while its frozen to figure out if its a memory leak or something. I really enjoy playing the game but having to wait somewhere around 30 minutes before it figures its stuff out is pretty frustrating.

You should check the pinned list for common issues and the like. There is a mention for profile corruption, right at the top, and Hopoo and Co. are working on trying to narrow it down and figure out what it is, but as it stands, there's nothing short of manually backing up your profile that can help "fix" or mitigate the issue until an actual discovery is made towards why it's happening.

We bought my friend RoR2, when she launched the game it says title_singleplayer, title_multiplayer etc then in settings it said for all of them options-header_audio etc. When we decided it was whatever and got into a multiplayer, she wasnt able to press E to get out of the pod when the rest of us could. She exited and checked the key bindings and everything was correct. She then reinstalled it, still the same issues occurred.

Hi friends! I have the weirdest FPS issue, would love some help. So here's what I happened: I moved to a new place. Just built my PC up again and loaded into Risk of Rain 2, which ran perfectly before, and I'm getting single digit FPS and can barely use my mouse because the mouse cursor is so laggy. I booted up a bunch of other graphically demanding games (Tropico 6, Battlefront 2) and they all run perfectly fine. I just can't get RoR2 to run decently again. I tried the following:
- Restarted my PC
- Installed latest Geforce drivers
- Uninstalled and re-installed risk of rain 2
None of those helped. Any ideas what else I can try?

Can anyone think of a reason why, {controller not plugged in just using keyboard and mouse and mouse aims and works totally fine on other first or third person games} that as soon as i load into a game of RoR and try to aim up or left or right it forces me to look straight down at the ground again and over and over and over? @timber valley if you mean to say that your computer is suddenly restarting while playing the game, then itโs either a power supply issue or your CPU is overheating. I had a similar problem and it turned out my power supply was defective.

@leaden turret The processor temperature does not reach 55 degrees, and the power supply I have is 750 watts, the entire system consumes 400-500 watts at maximum load, and + risk of rain is not a demanding game, I ran games that require many times more resources, but there are no problems there.

I went to the microsoft support Update for Universal C Runtime in Windows page, scrolled to the operating system I have and clicked "Download the package now" after everything installed, my game didnt have the EARLY_ACCESS_DISCLAIMER error.

hey there, I recently unlocked the engineer after 30 complete levels but on that very same run the game crashed... restarting i saw that the engineer was not available to play. So i thought I just need to grind a couple of more levels but to no avail. Still not available. @pallid ibex my friend had that exact issue in the patch that came out today and before todayโs patch. I have been lucky in the sense that mine is fine. Both of us have completely unmodded games

When he hosted and I went into his game, his was fine but I was locked and could not ready up
The difference though is that I can go into public games just fine, while he cannot I am afraid

Probably based on FPS up to a maximum rate now that I think about it. The game itself runs slow when you're getting below 15. I know Factorio (completely different game archetype I know) has desynced FPS and UPS (Updates Per Second, similar to TPS)

Regarding framerate, has anyone else been getting choppy FPS / stuttering as of the latest patch? I should mention that I recently replaced my power supply, so that could have something to do with my own experience at the moment.
And by 'recently' I mean today, a short time after the patch was sent out.

Tried restarting your computer, I assume? Try reconnecting all your power cables. Simply unplugging and replugging them in. For both the mobo and GPU. Make sure the PSU is off before you do this haha. Have you checked your CPU and GPU (and RAM) usage while getting stutters? @leaden turret
It could be that a power cable wasn't plugged in all the way and its forcing your GPU or CPU to run at a lower frequency

I'll check that just incase, yeah. My CPU usage was normally coasting around maximum usage, but I think changing the power plan for better performance solved this. Now fluctuates from around 40-80%

both intel and amd can have problems with some system configs that let the CPU idle during gameplay because the CPU usage varies so much but setting it to performance does usually fix it.

Anybody else have enemies stop spawning during teleporter charging on extremely long runs? Believe it started happening when I hit level 38, not sure what stage I'm at, but there was one where not only did a boss not spawn, but all enemies ceased spawning during charge. Just sat there while it charged up.

my game still grinds to power-point mode after some random amount of time playing. this time it did it on the first stage. i'm sitting in a safe place to see if it will crash itself, but it doesn't look like it. it's been going for 17 minutes and isn't using any more cpu/gpu/memory. just running more slowly.

I have never come across this issue before; I am trying to get the game to run in a windowed mode at 1600 x 1024 as my taskbar is on my right side, not the bottom, and it forces the game to run on startup at 1680x1050, which forces me to resize. I am currently able to resize it every time I start up the game, but it's just a little annoying at worst.

I did just meet problem with achievement's... the one to kill elite boss on monsun difficulty (decide). I did kill an overloading greater wisp... did it not counted as it was "horde of many"? Its pretty rare for me to meet an elite boss, as mostly i just have more of them and its quite annoying, that's why i would like to know why i need to search for another one :)

I can't join a quickplay game; when I click "Enter Quickplay" the party icons disappear and nothing happens, then after about 2 minutes I get booted out of the queue. If I try to join clipboard games, same thing happens, party icons disappear and Invite Friends and Back are the only ones highlighted.

im having a massive slowdown problem, probably related to vfx (not sure). The game slows down during a stage to the point of being unplayable and the "slowdown" resets when i go thru the teleporter. Can anyone help me with that?

Is there any fix for corrupted files? Someone already asked before me, but im absolutely infuriated. Over 200 hours in game, i had just gotten the last area log, and when I came back it was gone. Corrupted. So I thought maybe its just a fluke. So I went through, unlocked the characters again, got all the monster logs again, and all the achievements and area logs again. I log out, then come back today and once again, a single day after finishing all the tasks, I am corrupted again.

Engi serious bug. All abilities "unknown" persisted through client restart and fresh install. No mods used. Support ability deploying on it's own. (Solved: Joystick was plugged in, unplugging joystick from PC fixed issue)

Well I solved my issue with all the "Unknown"
it was my joystick that I had plugged in.

@carmine arrow Hi, I really hate to bother you, but I'm completely unable to play multiplayer and I have tried just about everything I can think of to fix it to no avail. Every multiplayer game I join has me stuck as commando, when I try to click any character class or the ready button it won't let me, characters in the lobby are invisible for me, and the ready button is stuck at 0:00 with me unable to press it meaning I can't even start a multiplayer game
I have tried restarting the game, restarting my pc, deleting and reinstalling the game, verifying steam files, restarting my router, and checking files for any out of place
nothing has fixed this problem

When I play the game everything runs just fine but after some time when there are a lot of enemies the fps drops a lot. I looked and it's because the game only uses 900mb of RAM even if it needs more. I have more than enough RAM. Anyone knows how to fix this?

I soft locked 12 times in a row whenever I got into a match of quickplay
it always soft locked whenever we were dropping into the level in the drop pods, my dead body would be laying on the ground instead of being in a drop pod, it would land normally then simply fall into the ground, or my camera would be in the drop pod and I wouldn't be able to get out, tis happened 10 times in a row after I verified files, and even uninstalled and reinstalled
