hey so all of my progress in the game got deleted yesterday. Didnt play a lot so was okay with it, didnt know why it happened but it did. Then I played some more last night, stopped and went to play again today and all my progress is gone again. Am I doing something wrong?

Heya. I've been playing the game today and had a blast until my Internet crashed and I had to restart the game. After restarting the game I noticed, that I had to create a new Profile and all my Progress was gone. After that I decided to ask my friend that I had been playing with, to give me his save file, because we unlocked everything together and now I'm locked out of the game. I guess that there's a way to block out save editing.
I can't click on Continue on the Startup Screen, where it tells you that the game is in early access.

So I'm still having this troublesome issue where playing the game with other people keeps getting increasing more out of sync as time goes on, has anyone else encountered and fixed this yet?
If I were to put into words what it feels like is it SEEMS like my download of data is getting throttled. Everyone says they can see me do thing is real-time (other than the fact that I teleport around I guess) so my upload is uninterrupted. But I have to wait upwards of 3 or so seconds before the things I can see the things I do have an effect.
This never happens right away and just ramps up to getting worse and worse as I continue to play with others, then after it gets to a certain max of awfulness it kinda sits there.
I still haven't seen anyone else talk about this so other than a few reply to my post on Steam saying they are getting the same thing or something similar.
I don't have any problem like this with any other game and playing with people, steam or otherwise.

After doing the save file corruption process as pinned, I suddenly can't press continue
So I switched from monitor audio to my usb headphones and now the game doesn't seem to be putting out any sound at all? At first I thought it might be a driver issue on my end, but I doublechecked everything and it's just this game that's giving me issues?

I had the same issue. I did three things to fix this and I'm not exactly sure which was the best solution. I updated to the latest driver, I then also set my power options in the Windows Control Panel + GPU control panel to High Performance or Maximum Performance profiles

- First, make sure Risk of Rain 2 is closed.
- Restart Steam.
- Next, locate the folder that your userprofiles are saved in. This is typically in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata(ACCOUNTNUMBER)\632360\remote\UserProfiles"
- There should be an xml file in there with a bunch of random characters, i.e 2919dc8a-fd4c-4c3c-bd7d-8aeeac67b831.xml. Open the .xml file in Notepad.
- Go to https://pastebin.com/BQkjgRrK and copy the contents of the Pastebin INTO the .xml file, REPLACING ALL THE EXISTING CONTENT. Press Save.
- Reopen the game in Steam.
Please let me know if this works - we will be patching the game in the future to work around this, but for now this should at least let you enjoy the game."

Probably. Unless something inside your drivers has been corrupted. Point is, I wouldn't ever say, "This should definitely fix it" when it comes to something as complex as a computer.

@gleaming rock while i'm not sure about the invisible items in the top bar, I have experienced the map desync with friends multiple times, the one we observed being the random rock wall and button placements on stage 2 abandoned aqueduct
We have also encountered different teleporter spawn spots. In general, the host is always right in these observations.
For some reason, I desync to friend lobbies, but they don't desync to mine.

If you're having the problem where your game is defaulting to integrated graphics instead of using your GPU, on windows 10.
go PC settings> System>Display>Graphics settings and add Ror2 to your list and select performance so it forces the game to run on your GPU instead. :) took me ages to figure out this annoyingly simple fix so i hope it helps others!

If I host, my two friends accept their invites ( Tried both clipboard and steam invite ) and from there, their screens do not do anything, no diffrence.
But when I join one of them, their lobby name pops up, and I join, just for my screen to go black and revert me to the home screen, where I am booted and alone once again
would this be due to the file that no-one can acquire when validating steam files for the game?
and if so, would it fall to their anti-virus being wack and not allowing some people ( my mates in this case ) to have it?

First being RoR2 running while closed after exiting. For me its been happening since release, and closing steam is the only way to fix it. There is no RoR2 process in task manager. So it may be on the steam end, maybe steamworks? But maybe some of you dont have this issue

Ive tried exiting through the game menu, and killing the task. Neither will correct it. Itll be shown running in steams library even while the RoR2 and unity crash handler entries are gone in task manager

I was reading some of the dev blogs about how each monster, boss etc, and players are all coded as the same entities. So they can all technically be ai or player controlled

Currently my favorite is the snow level. Its huge, great atmosphere. Those little airport lights glowing. And its far enough in that you get clusterfucked by enemies almost every time

@dull blaze check that vsync is disabled and that your drivers are up to date. Vsync specifically in your driver control panel. For nvidia you right click the desktop. Nvidia control panel, manage 3d settings, and either change it under global or in RoR2s profile

For anyone who is having performance issues like I was (had to lower/turn off all setting I could and I was still getting leggy mouse input) try the game in windowed mode on different screen res. It drastically improves performance (I'm running an old asus gaming laptop with m650 or m660 card) and I can now play on almost maxed settings. I know currently there is a bug but you can also turn bloom off in the game config file. But, you need to set bloom to 0, launch the game, and while the game is launching alt+tab back to the file until the game is launched (the game can't write to the file when you are focused on it). If you go into settings and change them and save, it will overwrite the bloom so don't do that.

Definitely try what I mentioned above. Set the body count to immediate and 0, that helps too. Shading is also a big part of performance so mess with those as well.
