1.nothing at all happens
2.my game goes into a black screen and boots me to the main menu

Yeah, you have to go to your graphics card's control console and set it use your graphics card for RoR 2.

So. If you have an Nvidia card, you can find the console inside your taskbar icons in the right side of your taskbar.

Right click on the Nvidia icon and select control panel, from there you go into manage 3D settings and into manage programs.

Risk of Rain 2 will most likely not be in the drop down list of programs. If that's the case, hit add. Then find it under the 'r's and once you've added it you should have a dropdown that let's you switch from your integrated graphics to your graphics card.

You might need to open ports on your routers in order to host games

But even so there's problems with the game dealing with the windows firewall and opening ports within the computer, so even if you open port --say 11000-- in your router and direct it to your computer

1. First, make sure Risk of Rain 2 is closed. 
2. Restart Steam.
3. Next, locate the folder that your userprofiles are saved in. This is typically in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(ACCOUNTNUMBER)\632360\remote\UserProfiles"
4. There should be an xml file in there with a bunch of random characters, i.e 2919dc8a-fd4c-4c3c-bd7d-8aeeac67b831.xml. Open the .xml file in Notepad.
5. Go to https://pastebin.com/BQkjgRrK and copy the contents of the Pastebin INTO the .xml file, REPLACING ALL THE EXISTING CONTENT. Press Save.
6. Reopen the game in Steam.

That's what helped my game issues, and it's what I use to solve most problems with any game I've had issues with before. Hopefully that helps.

My friend has a problem where he can't play in private lobbies with us. He can do quickplay and solo private just fine.

When he joins private lobby with us, the timer below ready button is set to 0

and he can't ready up

He asked a few other people to invite him to their lobbies, and same thing is happening

@hasty lintel It sounds like it's a network connectivity issue between you and the friend specifically. Are you trying to host the lobby, or are they? If the problem persists, try hosting the lobby (invite them to you), and if it does, it means their connection isn't strong enough to play multiplayer with (unfortunately).

Is their a way to send your gift to another person? Open config.cfg with your text editor of choice
add "ea_message_skip 1;" without quotes to a new line.

The game will overwrite this on exit currently, so until that is fixed you'll need to do it every time you're about to start the game if you're having the early access window problem.
