Hello!
I'm actually doing Koish hunt (5/5) and I tried to do the BattlePass challenge named "Defeat 50 untamed Tems."
Fished Tems don't seem to count for the challenge, it stays at 0/50

Not a dev, but this isn't a bug. It should be, but the devs confirmed in the past that encounters through fishing rods don't count as normal encounters for challenges.
