Gamemode reasonings:
Spider: i chose Spider for its snappy gameplay, as i wanted to emphasize the song's rapid rhythm
i didn't choose Cube or UFO because (without orbs and pads) it is difficult to make this kind of gameplay with them
Ball: i chose Ball because the song's rhythm slows a bit in this section. it is similar to Spider, so the transition wouldn't be very jarring, and the floatier physics mesh with the (relatively!!) relaxed part of the song.
i didn't choose Robot because the song doesn't have many long notes to emphasize, and i didn't choose Wave because i needed something less snappy than spider, not more.
UFO: i chose the UFO to add some variety. the part has less rapid notes to emphasize, and i felt having a larger variety of gamemodes would make the gp more interesting, so i chose an even floatier gamemode than ball.
i didn't choose Swing or Ship because the song still had staccato notes to emphasize, and i prefer to use those two for "open" sections in the song (unless i have access to orbs)
Robot: i chose Robot to emulate the "rising" feeling of the song. since the layout is so short, i wanted to make something a bit harder than the previous sections, and the Robot's hold-and-release gameplay requires more precision than the other three gamemodes (except maybe Spider?)
i didn't choose Swing because it'd be hard to make fun gp for it without orbs, unless the song is even more "open" than it is here. i didn't choose Spider because this part of the song isn't nearly as staccato as the rest of the level.
