Section 1: I selected cube mainly because it was the start of the level and it works for the beginning of the drop in a level. While every level differs, most levels made by Robtop for example use cube as the introduction to a level. I feel that the cube gamemode perfectly introduces you into a level. Going with UFO or Swingcopter wouldn’t have fit mainly because of how they play, most players starting in something other than cube would maybe get confused or the level just wouldn’t look right. UFO and Swingcopter should only be used when you’ve already gone through the first part of the level, if they’re in freemode (unless its swingcopter), or if the levels difficulty is very low.
Section 2: I chose the Ball strictly because its a good transition gamemode. In my opinion, most closed gamemodes (Ship, UFO, Ball) all fit for a transition into more difficult gameplay as the level progresses. Robot would maybe fit with the Cube before but honestly it would go on for too long with the same type of gameplay, but I feel having a different type of gameplay is better. While the wave is a very skill based and challenging game mode. The section in lower difficulty levels can not be too long or too difficult. Wave being an easily chokeable gamemode, it just wasn’t right to put it right after the first cube.
Section 3: While all 3 of the gamemodes (Ship, Swing, UFO) would work well, I believe the UFO would fit it the best. Ship would be great if I could use orbs and pads, but since that was out of the question I felt it would’ve just been straight fly with some deviation. Swing would just be a flying ball and just feel really boring (like I said with my robot explanation). UFO fit the best because of the limitations and it syncs much better with the song than the other 2.
Section 4: Robot is the perfect way to end off this level. Goes back to the idea of an open gamemode with a bit more challenge. Testing your skill before completing the level. Spider while a good sync gamemode, would’ve felt repetitive since ending with a closed gamemode just doesn’t feel right. Swing just isn’t right to end on in the level, since it's too chokable of a gamemode similar to Wave.
