- State your in-game username, the level name, and the level ID.
- Additionally, state what you need help with, whether that's playtesting or recording.
- You'll get XP for helping people with their playtest or recording requests.
I’m sending a video of my completion so it’s easier and faster for you to check what I’m talking about.
To start with, the difficulty is pretty spot on, there are still some balancing issues I would like to outline though:
- The two spike jumps at the beginning (7%, 10%, 19%) are by far the hardest clicks in the level. You would want to slightly nerf these, or buff other parts if you want to go for a demon to be able to get better balance.
- The whole spider sections clicks are too easy for the difficulty you are going for, they are all buffers that even give you margin on either side (apart from one click). At least remove the margin of error to buff it a bit.
- The 2 ball clicks at 44% are quite hard relatively speaking, especially the second one (though that could be a skill issue of mine). Slight nerfs would be in order.
That’s all for balancing (in my opinion, there could still be other parts that others would find unbalanced). Now onto gameplay bugs/annoyances:
- What is the point of the yellow orb at 12%? It’s completely useless, you can jump perform a regular cube jump instead of jumping from that orb.
- If you jump for too long at 52% as the robot, you end up entering the gravity portal too far and hit spikes. This could be considered an unfair death since the player went through the gap like he was meant to yet still died. Either make sure the player can’t jump that far, or make it so it doesn’t kill the player if he jumps that far.
- At 68%, indicate more clearly when the dash orbs ends, or make it so the player has no choice but to end it themself.
- The click on the green orb at 81% can kill you if you don’t click pretty late. The real problem with it though, is that it’s two really quick clicks amongst a level that so far had clicks fairly spaced apart, which sorta breaks a players rhythm.
With that done, now to talk about the concept of the level and errors in it:
- Your level has a very weird synch, where at the beginning it synchs with when the cube lands and slowly shifts towards synching with the clicks of the player rather than the icon. I suggest making all synchs being to the click, and in general, achieving a better synch, because I found that part pretty lacking. It is in fact not that much of a problem to lack synch, but that means you have to make it up elsewhere.
- You change game modes sort of randomly. What I mean by that is, my belief is that gamemode swaps should match a change in music. Here you seem to change sort of whenever, not even to a particular beat a lot of the time
Dam I yapped a lot for this one. I tried going for a different style of giving reviews to be less robotical, tell me if it worked
Added 500 xp to therpotato, they are now level 21 with 21,791 xp.
Firstly thank you soo much for taking time out your day to do my little request. This is actually my first gd level ever and I was trying a lot of things out, I'd consider myself as a newbie creator to be honest
To address the sync and bugs I'll begin ready structuring the sections which you suggested, once those are done I'll upload and another request unless you can help me with play testing
Once optimization and addition of new parts is done, I'll let you know
Thank you once again 🙏
Np, I do it to help 🙂
