You can only control how your team Acts if a member is gonna die.

Since it’s in Smash already, The Monado allows Shulk to see into the future. So whenever someone is gonna die, Shulk gets warned about it. So you, as either the party member or Shulk go up to the person that’s gonna die and say “Aylmao fam, you’re about to be dead AF” and they’re like “Lmaoo okay. I’ll try not to” and you’re able to use an ability from the team member to prevent them from dying.
