@quick harbor Heyyy! Pretty design! Your eyes seems too big for both genders, also the male's mouth looks a bit high placed.

Some lines are a bit shaky and should be fixed as well. The small tape on the hat usually doesn't go up, it is straight. Also the right side of the hat isn't equal to the other side. You can try do the hat on a seperate layer and mirror it to have the equal side!

Please add some shades too the shirt. It looks really flat compared to the other parts of the skin.

Heihei, I think you should try making your shading more shape-like! Also above the golden detail it's shaded with dark blue, which seems a bit illogical to me. On another note I'm not sure if the tiny dots will be visible in-game.
Also on the left bottom corner the shirt is a bit wonky and spikes out a bit, try fixing that.

Remember that there's nothing wrong with taking references and looking at other people's design to figure certain things - like shading - out. Practice makes perfect! No one is born a master!

@quiet orchid i really like what you have so far, it gives me a kind of skyblocks vibe if you ever would have heard of that. it gives off a peaceful feeling to me and i really have no idea why. anyways, there were some small things i noticed while looking at it closer tho:

-why do some items have a better quality than other items? a really good example is the shirt and the foreground item, while the shirt has some really nice details the branch looks rather blurry. im guessing this is when you put the pieces that you or koame made together in one program but try to keep the same amount of quality over the items, if it is really needed you can try to redraw eachothers items on one and the same canvas
-i dont understand why she has water behind her, you have the waterfalls and thats completely fine, but next to her you have those small streams of water? seeing that they do not connect to the waterfall and the waterfall ends where the template ends it doesnt make sense really
-i love the detail you put into the shirt, but when you look from a bit further away it just becomes a mess of colors. try using less flowers, less different colors and try bigger flowers so that it kinda stands out
-the same as the above kinda happens as well with the islands, the dots which resemebles flowers just disapear into the green void of the grass. you can try to use the same solution as i gave above to fix this, altough i doubt it will look that good with all the big colored dots 😅
-the shading on the flowerstem of the hat item looks rather a bit handdrawn, wobbly. try using more shapes instead of lines or use a straightener tool to make it look better
-due to the colors of th hair and the shirt they kinda blend into eachother,especially due to the sading on the sleeve. it is not the biggest issue but maybe something small to note
