@weary eagle the hair looks pretty flat, maybe try to make it less glued to the head? Yes make the shading darker and I would say less yellowish.... The hairs color makes it harder for you to shade it in a good way.
The eyes, you wanted to do as Buttons look a bit weird and flat. Try to make a bit more shading, less close and also cleaner work.
The pink in the face looks pretty much random placed on this point...
The mouth.... Okay you can try this kind of mouth, but the color doesn't really fit in ^^'
I like the shirt idea, but everything is extremely straight and this makes it look weird. The buttons are too small on the shirt and due to the fact, that you didn't use much detail to show it is an actual shirt. You could make them bigger for sure.
The arms are too thin and also the shirt parts again really straight
Additional, the layer order is wrong as you can see on the neck. It overlaps the head layer which is above the shirt layer

Here's feedback ; The middle part of their hair could use dark shade to give some depth but if it doesn't work out you can leave it like that since it's still pretty. The hat item for both genders needs some shadows or maybe you can add something that will make the hat item for the girl look more like a hat item, currently it looks like a floating caramel. That's for me, overall it looks stunning. Great job
