V-Matrix = where you manage (equip, extract, craft, etc.) your new 5th job skills. you have 4(?) slots empty at the start, and you unlock new ones every 5 levels or you can unlock with mesos

White Nodestones = you open these to get a node randomly. nodes are basically another word for skills, and you have 3 types (Skills, Boost, Special). Skill nodes grant you actual skills you can equip and use. Boost nodes increase damage of your 1st - 4th job skills. Special nodes are 1-week long buffs.

Green Nodestones = Experience nodestones, use these to get experience nodes which you can then use to level your skills

Perfect Trio = Boost nodes come in random sets of three. Ideally, you want each skill in the perfect trio to be skills we use often. Click on the node and you will see what skills are buffed

here is a very quick tldr of the basics

my shad was surviving SF144 with full event uniques, and is pot positive at AF60 with CRA weap + unique / leg gear

hayato stronger overall by a mile though, nutty skills with a good mix of low and high cooldowns

I think the class is in a good state, with the minor inconvenience of temp stat and low iFrames, we only have 1 without impeccable skin.

I also made a recent jump from my recent ied of 7.6 to 17.6 without DS4. with DS4 I have 38% ied

Yea Hayato honestly has a crazy rotation for burst, the tricky part about Hayato is it’s a comp where ur burst is meant for the end of the combo, I never use burst in p1 of Lotus because of it.

We have a charge skill that allows us to take no collision damage so it’s also a huge benefit

even if you buy it now before prepping to upgrade it, it'll take sometime before you can wear it

Max your trinodes to 60 and main Vskill first if you havent already

but ofcz , if you see a cheap emblemed LSW from other classes you can buy it first like what murderlistic said

just be aware that it's not that much of an immediate damage boost per time and meso spent compared to other things you can do

Got V1 maxed, feeling kinda iffy about V3 being next in line.

Damage chart says V3 does half of V4 (Instant Slice) on a two-minute basis.

What could be the reason to prioritise V3?
Consistent DoT & lines when dodging boss mechanics?
Sword Energy recovery?

i agree with this and am iffy too that’s why i’ve been levelling them half half after v1 — i think your points on DoT / constant damage and sword energy is right and overall levelling V3 also reduces CD which is why i think people recommend we max it next

hello my fellow hayato mains, just wanted to share a recent milestone -- managed to solo nmag in ~10s with full buffs (-tangyoon -boss rush) and do 2% in Ark (test run)!

this class continues to impress in enjoyment and strength, going to be trying a proper Ark run with my guild tonight will update if i manage to hit the 2% 🙂

any combination of those 3 in a node is what you want

then you can either

1. get all 3 of those combinations, level each to at least 20 which will make all 3 of those skills 60 (the max)
2. get 2 of the 3 possible combinations, level both to 25, with extra vmatrix slot points you can get all 3 to 60 with just 2 slots

which approach you take will depend on how many vmatrix skill points, rng, and slots you have

Rai blade is so weak. The hyper is what makes it ok

i think it is actually pretty balanced -- it's sad that we have no hyper passives for it but if you look at it alone 220% skill dmg and 14 hit count is actually strong. very few other classes have the same skill dmg + hit count for their main attack skill, hence why they have hyper passives to help (shadower's is 240% 9 lines, cannoneer is 240% 4 lines, bucc is 220% 13 lines)

5 stacks of v3 gives us 20% extra FD which overall gives much more dps than maintaining full gauge.

ideally though you can have near full gauge + 5 stacks before the boss starts, which is doable but requires prep (V1 + Falcon’s -> 5 stacks V3 -> V1 + Falcon Again -> Use V3 in between to keep it up)

oh sorry i misread, but yes spamming V3 during shinsoku gives insane burst since you can do both and does more dmg overall then maintaining full gauge

I think it's duo to his complexity, To unlock him to his fully potential you really have to know what you're doing, Order of skills and buffs and pay attention to cooldowns... positional yourself well beforehand is also a big thing here.

Equip all your vskills. That's four slots taken.
Last free slot should go to Rope Lift when AB-ing.
When bossing, probably Impenetrable Skin or one of the Common buffs. Go with what you have.

That's some pretty good luck with the perfect trio node.
You'll need 2 of those eventually, in a different order.
That's how you get a max boost of lv60.

Theres definitely a mechanic its pretty easy lemme log on to get the skill name before i butcher it

For floor 42, just melt with shinsoku or if youre strong enough place v3 down so its still there for floor 43.

Floor 43 has two sets of moves, but you can dodge them if you use Dankuusen to the other side

As long as you dodge the moves, just attack him as usual. Its impossible to use 100% of shinsoku in floor 43 due to how often the plant attacks

"endgame" is extremely vague and if you aren't spending heaps of money.. i wouldn't worry about that. with a proper guild and community you shouldnt have trouble completing bosses like ark, lotus, maybe even ndamien. but for the rest, all classes will need proper gearing.

but overall hayato is rly strong, as @smoky rain he's outdamaging DBs and from my experience few classes can outdamage with similar gear

Hi guys, just on the next best node for v matrix after the perfect trio (falcon, sanrenzan and shinsoku).

I see some guides say its hitorki strike, hitorki hundred and sudden strike

Do we even use sudden strike that much? Im finding that i just use it every 30 seconds to get boost but im wondering if sweeping sword ( since it also boost dankuusen and whirlwindcut) probably more useful?

I still use that very often with its low cooldown

Just wondering if sudden strike becomes more important later?

My routine for bossing when I log on:

1. Quick Draw into red sword aura
2. Falcon's Honor for 100 SE
3. Battoujutsu Zankou / V1 for 700 SE
   Optional but unnecessary: Battoujutsu Advance (1st job) for 64 SE

Otherwise, blue sword aura and kill 200 mobs for 5 SE each. Tangyoon dungeon is nice for that

Try reading on from here. Guess I used to be on Quick Draw after all, for Hitokiri Hundred Strike & Shinsoku.

Reading back it seems like afterwards I might have removed HHS since you stand in place for too long.
In which case I’d suggest turning off Quick Draw (if you don’t need Shinsoku).

Just test things out for yourself & see how you fare.

Hey guys! Been a minute since I checked in. I was looking for some guidance if anyone was free.

After gearing myself up decently I still find myself really weak. When I boss, my output is almost minimal compared to others who are equally or most of the time, less funded than me. My damage output is not only low, but really slow compared to some of my Guildies and I’m thinking it’s honestly a skill issue on my part. I tried to learn bossing/burst combos but run into a lot of problems and just find Hayato too tedious– I’m not a fan of the mechanics after making it past 200.

With that being said, do you guys have any tips for burst combos etc? Or would anyone be able to take a look at my Hayato and help guide me in the right direction?

Side note: tired of having to charge sword energy before and in between boss runs. 😂

It woud also help if you show your stat window and gears. Just simply clicking in-game at another person's gear window can be misleading because we can't see the levels of gear or the potential it has. and thats just gears.
What if they have all the links? legion? max lvl nodes. Theres a lot of factors.
As for the charging energy sword, hopefully a Hayato can help you there.

Yeah I run DS4 for Ark and Hmag typically. Asides from damage output I find that I get CC’d only a few seconds into Shinsoku and since our iframe only lasts 3s I struggle to pop off. I understand that a lot of this is also due to me not bursting at the appropriate time I suppose but I’m just not that happy where I’m at in general.

Make sure you use hitokiri strike to stun the boss to avoid getting cc'd

Any hayatos have tips for what your bossing combo/burst looks like? I think mine goes something like this:

• Buffs
• Sengoku warriors
• v2 x5 for 20% FD (consecutively with Rai flash)
• v1
• v3
• falcon’s blade
• stun
• pop iframe
• shinsoku while consecutively popping v4 and falcons blade as available

also yes you need to time shinsoku well to make sure you don’t get cc’ed — for Ark, i usually start popping it once my teammate draws aggro (i’ll stand behind Ark) and then you can hold it through shield cracks if you have a bish which you should

yep but 168 is significantly harder than 158, tbh 171 is a sleeper if you can get to that SF

171 gives u more exp and mesos and the mobs hit for less than half of 168, just harder to find parties

rule of thumb, you should be able to tank 1 x active attack from a mob (not touch damage) and 2 / max 3 shot them to comfortably clear without too much pot burn
