Suggestion: Something along the lines of:
At the moment, the only way to level up cats is to depend on crossbreeding, cats should be rewarded with a sum of xp so they can naturally level up after completing every search, even if it's a small xp volume.
If cats are going to be exclusive to events, genomes and the in-game store, leveling a cat up from level 1 to level 2 would take hundreds of attempts at crossbreeding.
If cats are unable to get xp from looting, then at this point, getting a true friend dog would be easier than leveling up a cat depending on their future availability.
Sturgeon can be farmed at Foray zones for true friend dishes, and be stacked with the Dog Breeder event and level 3 dogs & dry food can be procured on-mass already.
Benefit: Gives the cat system some much needed support because getting a level 1 cat to level up naturally would become infuriating; possibly moreso than getting a true friend and this would be even worse if cats are planned to be a very exclusive reward.
