Title: Splatoon — I appear offline in-game to my friends; cannot join or be joined, but regular matchmaking works
Pretendo username / PNID: nz0o0fr
Platform: Cemu (Linux / Windows / macOS)
Cemu version: Cemu 2.x
Game: Splatoon (Wii U)
Game version: v5.5.0 / v288 / latest update
Region: EUR
Connection: Home connection and mobile hotspot tested; VPN tested both enabled and disabled
Issue:
Since recently, my friends cannot see me as online inside Splatoon, and they cannot join me. I also cannot join them through the in-game Friends menu.
However:
- My account is correctly linked to Pretendo.
- I can play complete Regular Battle matches without any issue.
- I can sometimes be matched with my friends randomly in Regular Battles.
- The Wii U Friend List works normally: we can remove and re-add each other, and I receive notifications when they connect.
- In Splatoon, my friends appear offline to me, and I appear offline to them.
- There is no error code; the Friends tab in Splatoon simply does not show us as joinable/online.
This used to work normally before. Nothing changed on my side.
What I already tried:
- Fresh Cemu installations on Windows and Fedora Kinoite.
- Tested both the Cemu
.exeand the.AppImage. - Tested on Fedora Kinoite 44, Bazzite 44, macOS Ventura and SteamOS.
- Recreated a fresh Dumpling online-files dump from my Wii U five times.
- Re-imported the dumps into clean Cemu setups.
- Verified that my PNID is selected as the active account and that Pretendo is selected as the Network Service.
- Removed and re-added my friends in the Wii U Friend List.
- Regular matchmaking, shops and connection to Pretendo still work.
Since the issue persists across multiple operating systems, multiple Cemu builds and multiple fresh Dumpling dumps, I suspect it may be an account-side presence/session issue, or something related to the Splatoon friends/matchmaking service.
