Yes I am aware that there was an explanation posted on how to fix it after updating over the Universal Updater. I've read through this post #animal-crossing message

My confusion stems from what I am dragging over. Am I replacing the Nimbus folder in my 3ds? Do I need the "nimbus.3dsx" file too?

I'm aware these are all questions that should be obvious to most people. I struggle with exact instructions and I don't want to mess something up bad. I apologize if this annoys people.

The issue of Universal Updater "not giving you all the files" has been fixed long ago

These are all the necessary steps:

  1. install nimbus.cia via Universal Updater (i'm saying this again because there are two install options - cia is for the HOME menu, 3dsx is for the Homebrew Launcher. For most users the cia option will suffice.)
  2. Open Nimbus from the HOME menu. You will be prompted to press START to reboot the console
  3. reopen Nimbus then select Pretendo
  4. while in Nimbus (again), press Y to launch the plugin, then press START and open ACNL
