Previously you could download a fake otp.bin and seeprom.bin files, along with the account.dat file directly from your pretendo's website in order to use it on Cemu, however this was removed due to the amount of hackers that were on pretendo, so you now need to dump these files from your Wii U so pretendo can ban your console's files in case you hack and no longer be able to use the files that came from that same console, and hackers now need to get a new Wii U to continue cheating.
This is a great method to combat cheating as anyone should obtain these files when dumping the certs from your Wii U and also would combat against piracy as you now no longer can use fake otp.bin and seeprom.bin files.
As far as i know the way that pretendo (and nintendo) bans consoles is using these two files so when you disable fake ones you are guaranteed that these are coming from a real Wii U and you only need to ban those specific files. Correct me if I'm wrong.
However, account.dat files do not serve any porpuse for banning a console, so it should be safe to let people download this file only while still combating hacking that way.
Why? Some people may have not dumped this file from their Wii U or lost it altogether, maybe changed their password (like I did) and that one no longer works, and maybe they can't no longer dump them (my Wii U broke), however I have the seeprom.bin and otp.bin files from it, along with the certs, and it looks like my previous account.dat file is now invalid as I changed my password. So, even if I have a legal dump of the files from a Wii U and a legal dump of Splatoon, I can't play it online as my account.dat is invalid and it's imposible for me to dump it again as it's broken.
"Just buy a new one."? I don't have the money to, and enabling this feature shouldn't affect the amount of cheaters anyways as they would still need to buy a new Wii U and dump the otp.bin and seeprom.bin files when getting banned.
