Probably helps that I both am willing to sit in WW for hours for people to start showing up. And once that happens and more people show up, people tend to stay more and grow from there. But I also like to join the MK8 voice channel and stream my perspective. Even if no one actually joins to watch me, I do think it helps at least show that "hey, someone's playing MK8"

Hey, maybe we should try to compete for timetrial times too between us, at least for some of the tracks

You'd be surprised how willing I am to equip the streetle for time trials

Pipeframe is mainly advantageous for tracks that needs offroad handling

Desert tracks, or water slick tracks like Donut Plains or Neo Bowser

Also oddly enough Royal Raceway is technically a Pipeframe track (though the WR uses a different body, but is still equivalent stats to pipeframe)

For Royal Raceway I actually don't really know why pipeframe stats are ideal there

If anything it's probably just because pipeframe is the highest speed build that also has exceptional handling

basically meaning sharper more responsive turning

There might be some weird physics quirk that makes that damn Mercedes car slightly better than pipeframe there

maybe it makes the nisc easier, idk

not sure if it matters too much unless its WR level

Curious to see if I could look into the reason why

The only real difference between these two karts are tire placement, and hitbox size

For MK8 specifically, it's got a small community, but don't go expecting there will be people online if you randomly decide to play world wides at any given time. There are people that play online, but you'll have to get a feel for what times of day people usually start logging in to play online world wides, which isn't always a guarantee. The best you can do to play "on-demand" is to message in here saying you're waiting to play, and be willing to be patient to see if anyone joins in. If someone joins in, great! If not, that sometimes happens, and you may need to try again later. And if you're lucky, more and more people will eventually start joining, which may otherwise not have happened if you hadn't been patient to start with. That's typically how I've been going about things, expectations have to be dramatically shifted for a low population game such as MK8U on a niche fan server service.
