me and my friend cant play together

i live in the usa and my friend lives in egypt and earlier like 2 yrs ago we could play together but now when i invite them into the game they are invisible in the lobby and same if they inv me and we cant initiate cage jump and when it lets us thru that point we get stuck in the begining as we are being dropped into the mission the lights that pass by stop and the game basically freezes we r stuck there for however long we keep waiting and the voice chat and looking around still work but other than that we r stuck there

i tried using vpn a couple times tho it didnt work either but without vpn we cant even start and with vpn w2e're stuck on loading

u could try phone 4g hotspot/tether, host from there.. if your isp is somehow blocking packets from your friend, the tether/hotspot might work better

idk what's wrong we both own the game on steam so none of us is using a cracked version or anything
