experimental version of proton too? (heard that fixed it for one user)
Yeah that hasn't worked either.
Currently using Proton Experimental with no launch options.
could you find logs? (or ask the friend to hop in here and get the logs)
idk how linux handles it but the equivelent of %userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\10 Chambers Collective\GTFO, then id say grab a screenshot from there
This is the only log we could find

try verifying the game install
@sudden lantern you cant find anything else in here?
So we verified the game files and tried to launch again but got the same issue with an identical log
So far its a GTFO specific issue, multiple other games have managed to launch including other unity games.
We tried something a little experimental.
My friend has changed to PopOS since we thought maybe a fresh install of the os would give us some headway. Unfortunately its still the exact same problem.
The game ran just fine on Win11 on their machine, so its strange that we're getting this issue while others seem to be able to run the game on linux fine.
gtfo on linux has been a bit funky
This is normal as far as I know
So dw
hey @midnight owl, I've got a friend who had a similar situation earlier and we told him to go through the proton versions. it was proton version 9 that worked for him. Idk if it would be a definitive fix for you, but it's worth a shot if you haven't tried.
I've also (i think) stumbled upon the locallow directory in linux. I'm using CachyOS, so i'm not entirely sure if it's the same for you. If you do find it there though, have a look at #bug-reporting and see what you can find/send.
Oh my god lmao, this worked.
Funnily it was the first one he tried 9.0-4
yeah that path is very similar to the one we found the logs in
i don't remember the exacty directory but it was identical after your ./steamapps
that's interesting that that's the only log that you found there, because i saw a bunch of txt files in that path on my machine. but i haven't had any issue on linux other than switching to other proton builds when they became a problem, and i've never had a problem playing on windows.
thanks for the help
