Trying to help troubleshoot the game for a friend who I've played with for a while, but haven't been able to have a session for a few weeks. I've got their log text here, and from what I can tell, the API call just fails for an untraced reason? Apologies for not having much more information than this, I can find out more on request if needed. I guess I'm just trying to find out if this is a common error message, and if there's something simple to blame. Thanks!

Using a VPN actually seemed to be a workaround to the issue? But it made the game exceedingly unstable

(Crashes, dropped players, a weird bug where an opened security "closed" when we were on the other side of it)

Assuming you two are from the same country there shouldn't be those kind of issues, as a rule of thumb

But if you're from continents apart it becomes harder NOT to have some sort of desync

Try restarting modem/router and all the usual suspects already mentioned like DNS
