yes we are friends on steam and the screen was just black with "waiting for master" at the bottom right of the screen then after a few seconds it would kick me out

Looks like a few other people have reported a similar problem in the "GTFO technical support" post right before yours. Reading through it, most of the fixed it by resetting their router? may be worth a shot if you cant get it to work. Or at least reading through that post may help too

for me, I was lucky that a quick restart of my pc fixed this issue
