#For everyone experiencing connection problems

So at this point we've got not one, not two, but five different threads asking about the same damn problem, and I'm slightly sick of redirecting towards a thread that probs didn't look like it has the solutions for the problem they were experiencing. (After all, waiting for master isn't as intuitive as connection problems)

So this is essentially everything I know.

Whether due to bad luck or some kind of technical faquery, we've been seeing a lot more people coming in for their problems, which for the majority seems to be either:
A: Unable to join each other
B: Can still join, but character loadout is invisible for some reason (Example here:#1281414730090811503 message)

First off, whenever you play a game that relies on p2p to work, check that your router/modem has their ports open (3478, 4379 and 4380) Those are required for steam to do p2p

If they were already open, try to restart your router/ modem and see if the issue improves.

For some reason, chaning download regions and clearing download cache (Which deletes everything in your downloads that might be clogged) has also worked for some people, although I suspect it's the relog-in of the action that solves it.

If your issue is not solved even after these actions, please follow the guidelines in #bug-reporting and make your own post in https://discord.com/channels/408196129470152705/1281414730090811503, that way people can actually help you with your issues more quickly.

||Also if you somehow came into the server bcs of my steam post thanks||

STEAM > k_EP2PSessionErrorTimeout 4 The connection timed out because the target user didn't respond, perhaps they aren't calling AcceptP2PSessionWithUser. Corporate firewalls can also block this(NAT traversal is not firewall traversal), make sure that UDP ports 3478, 4379, and 4380 are open in an outbound direction.

This is usually the cause of the problem, if you can see it in the logs yourself (You can find them with the tutorial in #bug-reporting ) then it's probs the issue everyone's having.

Also this issue has existed for way longer than I was around, but for some reason it's only gotten worse as of late and I have no idea why.

Update: It seems like Steam is also absolutely stumbling in its performance so if you're seeing issues, it might not be your fault.

router restart should be enuff, your steam+game requests the router to forward the ports to you with upnp, and sometimes routers get confused. clear the steam download thing and (re)install the redistributable thing, once done, reboot router, play.
if it still doesnt work, disconnect internet and usb tether or wifi hotspot to your mobile phone and attempt play with that.
weird problem. never had it happen to me yet.

copied it from the old waiting for master thread so that I don't lose it

Just read through the thing, I've already listed everything from that whole situation out

#

If it doesn't work chances are you're not having the same issue, and you probably should make your own thread

If you want to, you can try using mobile hotspot and see if it works first, if it does I can ping hirnu and he can walk you through it
