#Constant Unity Crashes Mid-Game

I have tried reinstalling, on both my external and internal SSD, validating files, updating drivers, Windows, etc. everything I can think off or look up but I seem to be unable to stop these constant inconsistent crashes, the game runs just fine while it is running, I have my graphics low across the board but somewhere mid game with my buddy I always freeze up suddenly, get some stuttering, and the game either hard crashes requiring a restart of my laptop or it closes and shows a unity error as shown in the picture. I am at a loss of what to do.

if anyone has any idea what could help me, please do let me know.

My specs in case they are important.

Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU
Video Card #2 Intel(R) UHD Graphics
Operating System Windows 10
RAM 16 GB

If you didn't you should do those first

And maybe pull the log files if those don't work, as we need those to check for problems

thanks I'll have a try of those fixes and if not follow the instructions to get the log files

knowing nothing about anything, this kinda sounds like a thermal crash, if the logfile says something like d3d device went away, this is what i had.. maybe do a full driver sweep and maybe even try a driver from 6 months ago or sth.. edit nvidia driver

sometimes people try to play game with laptop and power unplugged, some hardware really don't like that 🙂 .. my bet is on thermal but unity crash log should give clue

improve airflow, make sure the lappy is in gaming/performance profile to keep fans maxed, keep the psu plugged in at all times etc... if no improve, try driver swap, if running lappy vendor oem drivers, try the official nvidia reference ones

i had a desktop pc where the psu failed, i could play for 2-10 minutes but then identical symptom.. pc was up but psu self-protected, shut off the powerlines going to gpu, gpu shut down, game crash..

after crash i couldn't even vnc in anymore.. once i got on site (this was remote play stuff), opened chassis, powered on windows, started game, started drop to level, psu fan went "niekk", stopped. diagnosis complete

usually when this happens, ppl reboot, play another 3d game maxed graphics for hours on end no problem 😄 .. it's usually just gtfo that kills pc's 😄 😄

... looking at the log, there's a very remote chance it's gpu memory related as well

no I just got done testing it out again and we played for a good twenty minutes, then crash to desktop.

its running pretty cool also I keep a big fan on it to help too

playerlog if u have it anymore, the netstatus thing doesn't give as much useful
