Tried literally EVERY fix. Nothing worked. Sorted through most of the solutions in this forum.

I found the fix, pretty easy: Don't have emojis in your username lol.

What was your username before / what emojis did you have? We're trying to test this and can't repro with the few emoji's we've tried.

Have never encountered any other game that crashed because of the username, so you be the judge of how long it took us to figure it out 😅

Ahh yes! that's it, the combination of a long name and emoji's. We're able to internally repro this.

Ok I found something:

I've went ALL the way up to 23 characters (23 A's) then the emoji, thinking it'd behave the same way when I put the fire extinguisher emoji. To my surprise: It didn't!

After testing a bit: I see the issue. 24 characters seems to be the limit before the unity crash handler kicks in.

(With the emoji. Without it, it seems to handle it just fine.)

I've gone all the way up to 32 characters without the emoji, nothing crashes the game. Only the emoji is causing it, but only after the 23 character limit.

Here's ANOTHER interesting thing.

I dug even further into the emoji thing. When I hit Win + . and search for the emoji, it yields a DIFFERENT amount of characters than when you manually look for the emoji and select it.

My username with search: 27 characters
My username WITHOUT search: 25 characters

ATTEMPTED ON A BARE BONES ARCH LINUX INSTALL, USING PROTON FOR WAYLAND (PLASMA KDE)

Crashes consistently with all the information given above.
