Everytime me and my friend try to play gtfo, his game ends up crashing his pc. It's been a very consistent issue, and I'm wondering what all the solutions possible are, so that we can try them all because we've already tried a few.

Complete crashing of the PC is usually an hardware issue that doesn't actually have much to do with the game itself. In any case tell him to try disable XMP and other overclocking settings like PBO (or Intel's equivalent), and to check temps to be sure.
