#Audio cutout and invisible enemies

So we ran R4B2 today and during the secondary mission 3 of us had our audio completely cutout. The one who was fine wasn’t even the host. Randomly something would come back, like just turret sounds or just walking, but then it would be gone again. We ended up having to all rejoin one by one after the ||reactor|| was done to fix it.

In that same run after the host switched twice, the one player who didn’t get the audio bug couldn’t see enemies anymore. Like 3 bigs right in front of us but he couldn’t see anything on his screen. Even the bio tracker wasn’t showing them for him. He ended up having to rejoin as well to fix it.

I saw a few people with semi similar bugs but ours felt a bit extreme so I figured I should let the devs know.

I will admit I’m not the best to comment on what happened in this case, but generally speaking. The game does have a tendency to do some really weird stuff at times for no real reasons. I had trouble with that level to technical wise. There could be a deeper routed problem but issues like this should be chocked up to: GTFO just feels really scuffed at times. (You should raise concerns if this happens more than twice in a row)

Another thing to make a note is: The servers GTFO runs on can definitely go down momentarily or be really strange altering ur game in some way. Or possibly some sort of connection or desync issues as well. GTFO has a bad habit of derailing after one small thing goes wrong

Never. I’ve had other bugs before but I’ve never had an audio bug at all. Mine seemed to be the worst. One person would hear only their gun but I didn’t hear anything for the whole secondary

I have to assume it’s desync related. I’ve noticed desync issues way more lately and even in that run 2 people who have never crashed before had crashes. And the 2 of us left could walk around but the enemies were frozen. Weird part was that when it fixed itself, the enemies just disappeared. This was mid audio bug btw

Maybe change host again and see if it works?

I mostly just made this so the devs know it happened. I didn’t really expect a solution tbh. I’ll make sure to come back to this thread if it happens again though… hopefully it doesn’t. Turns out audio is important for this game, who knew

Just want to check again, which level was this, I'm assuming r4b1 as you mentioned a reactor, though your post says r4b2

It is known that some stuff can really mess with audio, especially if the level has spitters and generators/cells (e.g R2D1), r4b1 has both of these things so it's not farfetched

If you do start getting audio bug, avoid opening the map and close as many doors as possible between you and any spitters

@lapis canyon it’s not really specific advise but rebooting your game after around 2-3 hours of playing is generally a safe bet to fix weird bugs smug

B1 sorry I wrote this late haha

One person was having lag while opening the map and eventually got stuck in it. The rest of us were ok. Couldn’t close doors because there weren’t any that could close

Oh, my mistake
