#Any idea what may be causing my periodic 3-7 second lag spikes?

Been having the same problem for the last year or so
what I've figured out is that my connection doesn't actually cut but for some reason upload or download speed drops to 0 and sometimes it doesn't even do that and it still happens
tried pinging googles and discords websites and my router during the spikes and the pings went through just fine
I don't really have the expertise to actually figure out what's going on but those are some things I've done
also supporting this is that in gtfo players always freeze and I freeze in place for them but discord audio usually turns one-way eg. other people can hear me but I can't hear them or I can hear the other people in the call but they can't hear me
Dang you did more than i did. Thats a bummer. Usually it smooths out over the course of a run but still its a gamble at times if its going to cause me to wake everything up or freeze mid alarm
We have the same exact symptoms
Whats your upload speed?
20Mbps according to speedtest
God damn thats a lot better than my like, 5Mbps
only difference is that connection dropping happens everywhere not just gtfo
I used to have that issue too but it was ONLY with discord, I chalked it up to the ISP routing things like shit and losing some packets along the path only with specific destinations. It's 100% not that but I suppose you tried already restarting the router.
Many times. Also did port testing this round and things were not open. (few days before posting this main post)
I opened them now and played one game with similar issues still
