Use terminal with xbox360 controller

I only have this controller, no access to keyboard, is there any way to use the terminal?

Manually bind a button to toggle steam keyboard plugin, use combinations if you have to use an old time controller.

Using a 360 controller is already a bad play, since it lacks a lot of functions, something like a ps4 controller would make it a lot better as there is enough room to do things.
