You can order a bot to pick it up. But someone has to leave the lobby and then rejoin once you're done.

Bots cannot pick up items that require both hands...

They can.

#

(Q) Quick Voice Commands > (2) The Objective > (5,6,7,8) Pick up the objective (BOT NAME)

After given the command they will attempt to grab the item and if succesful - they will carry it around.
They, however, will drop it at the first hint of an awake enemy.

Since the QTE doesn't appear to player, wouldn't there be a glitch for the bots to just run around the item without being able to pick it up ?

Allegedly not. Bots don't operate on the same mechanics as we do.
