I got on one day and suddenly my default button mapping changed. The issue is, I can not alter them nor functionally play the game. An example is that I have no crouch button anymore since it changed. I attached a screenshot of me attempting to change my game pad buttons but it just highlights everything

Have you tried using steam input mapper? It lets you do all of that, where the in game gamepad mapper is only basic support

@quiet meadow Steam input mapper works but in my experience adds a lot of input delay that makes aiming more difficult

That feels more like the connection between the controller and the pc is just very laggy.

I'm sure it's steam input, using the same controller and usb cable there's much less input delay

Isn't that just the bluetooth being bad, having lag between inputs?
A direct connection bypasses the bluetooth, so the inputs feel smoother
You're still using steam input when you directly connect the controller to the pc.
