I bought this game for my brother a while back but he has been unable to play it properly. His problem manifests as a periodic hitch, or a huge drop in framerate, and it occurs every 5-10 seconds. outside of these hitches, the game plays smoothly. He has tried Vsync on and off, unplugging his second monitor, reducing the graphics to minimum, lowering the resolution, playing in windowed mode.

Have you run windows updates? Updating graphics card driver? Motherboard updates?

If hes running an Nvidia card he can try using GeForce Experience to make sure he’s up to date and using the recommended settings by that program

as i said, it runs perfectly fine outside of these momentary hitches every 5 seconds or so

Wow that’s old, idk if it holds up to the requirements. Is he experiencing the hitches in the older r1-4 or newer r5-7 rundowns

Personally I’d do a clean install of windows, updates, then install the game and try again

#

Bumping memory to 32 from 16 wouldn’t hurt either

i upgraded mine from 16 to 32 at some point in the past, so that could be a factor for sure

If possible I’d recommend a newer budget gaming laptop, 3050ti models run like 750

if it was a desktop, i would do my standard tip of chipset drivers.. but laptops usually have em set..

There's people playing this with Bulldozer arch and aside from the mismatched seed problem in R4A2,R2B4 they play just fine

Many play this game with 1060s and are fine too
