Since I upgraded to a Rx 7900 XTX my game keeps crashing at semi random intervals. I´ve noticed it happens quicker on maps with a lot of fog. My game crashes in between 5-20 mins on maps without much fog and 1-7 mins with a lot of fog. If anyone has a possible solution it would be greatly appreciated.
I´ve tried:
Disabling MPO
Updating Drivers
Updating Chipset
Some Bios settings
#AMD Driver Timeout

Having the exact same issue. Can't finish a mission before crashing with the 7900 XTX. On latest AMD drivers and tried a variety of things, nothing seems to work.
If you find a solution could you please post it? I´d love to be able to play the game again
Installed new update. Issue still happening
same issue here, just finished new build with 7900xtx and game crashes with driver timeout very quickly
Been having this same issue on a 7900 XTX build for months myself, regardless of display driver version or overclock settings used. Tried all of the OP's attempted fixes and a few others that weren't listed, such as disabling Discord's hardware acceleration (Discord would always crash in tandem with GTFO), and disabling Surface Format Optimization through AMD Adrenalin. Still no luck
For reference, my game never crashed once back when I was using a 6900 XT, so this seems like it might be a straight-up hardware incompatibility.
I'm including my full system specs captured through HWiNFO64, in case that somehow helps someone with the same problem in the future.
There have been prior issues for AMD chipsets when it comes to a specific series of CPU so it doesn't surprise me that this game is somehow freaking out about a particular GPU as well.
maybe check windows logs to see what exactly crashed?
My bad, could have sworn I had notifications on for this thread!
I don't have any screenshots from my last set of tests, but I don't recall seeing anything terribly informative in the past regardless. I'd either get nothing at all in Event Viewer (most common result), or a generic Application Error.
For what it's worth, this problem has persisted across three separate install drives and three fresh Windows installs. In my case, at the very least, it does seem to be a hardware issue, since my GPU is the only relevant common element between my previous, functional build and my current, nonfunctional one.
I'll try to get some logs in Event Viewer later though, just for kicks. I'm not exactly an expert at parsing them, so could be I'm just missing something obvious 😆
generic application error (some unity file .dll error usually) was cpu instability for me so it makes sense for gpu instability to have the same result. Have you tried rolling back drivers?
Yeah, I've tried several versions going back to December-ish, which is a couple months before I switched GPUs and started having this issue, so realistically I don't think those driver versions are likely culprits here
These are all fresh driver installs after using DDU, as well
This appears to be fixed on my system (I hope), as of AMD display driver version 23.7.1. Will need to test further but I was able to stay loaded into a rundown without crashing for around an hour last night (all I had time for unfortunately), which is a significant improvement over the 5-10~ minutes I was managing previously.
nice
Just updated to 23.7.2 a couple of days ago and the crashing in fog intensive levels came back. Im using an RX 6800 for reference. No OC whatsoever on my system, nor any xmp profiles active. have you guys had a similar experience?
I'll see about updating to the latest drivers tomorrow and giving it another go
Im currently about to DDU and clean install the drivers to see if updating the drivers via the amd adrenalin software caused the issue
Worth a shot!
Did you find your game to be stable on 23.7.1 or was that just a me thing?
I did, I didn't crash for a while
I updated them a couple of days ago and just hopped on GTFO and it's happening again. I'll report whatever happens with the clean install of the new drivers
ddu and clean install didnt help, it's still happening :c

I did a little bit of testing with the newest drivers on R3A2 (about 10-15 minutes worth) and didn't run into any issues. I'll update again when I get a chance to play properly with a full team. In the meantime, I guess try rolling back to 23.7.1? Nothing wrong with staying on your last stable version until the problem gets sorted for good.
