Unable to join friends lobby, and vice versa.

I've found other threads with the same issue, as well as a fix in the known issues, but none of these seem to work for me. When I attempt to host a game for my friend to join, he gets a bugged lobby when joining through steam and is unable to find the button regarding the lobby ID after he copies the ID I send to him. All of this is the same whenever I try to join him. I've successfully been matched into a game by the matchmaking system, so this problem only seems to occur whenever I attempt to join him. We don't have any network optimization software installed.

My Specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4600h with integrated Radeon graphics
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5600m discreet
plus 2 sticks of DDR4 8GB RAM

My system is a dell g5 5505 SE laptop, model came with a lot of issues but I don't believe this problem is one of them.

Edit: I wanted to add that due to many issues with AMD Smartshift on my GPU, I have Alienware Command Center installed for their performance mode. (Which seems to be the only thing that fixes the lack of frames I get due to Smartshift donating my GPUs power into my processor needlessly) Would AWCC have network optimization settings that might create this problem?

make sure that both of you have the same version of the game

Thanks for the quick reply. We have both checked versions and just bought the game yesterday. We have also tried verifying the integrity of the game files as well as reinstalling.

and also, try checking if you or your friend set the slot as bot only or not

We tried players & bots, as well as players only.

well, the last possible thing would be desync between the 2 players

as well as VPN

I should also mention he lives in California whilst I live in Ohio. I no longer have a vpn installed as I recently factory reset in attempt to disable Smartshift and fix a number of other things.

so you or your friend can't find lobby even though you copy the lobby id?

Yes. Although if I copy my own lobby ID and exit the lobby the button appears just fine, although the lobby no longer exists.

i think that he didn't copy it correctly because

for example: 109775241640026228 lobby code

sometime, you copy the "space" between the lobby code and it won't regconize

sometime

since YOU have the lobby button appear

i can only theorize that's the issue

can he try joining your lobby through steam request?

When we do that he successfully joins, but the lobby is bugged and nobody appears. I am also unable to initiate cage drop even though he is ready. Sometimes a bot will appear on the screen, or just a singular loadout and no character.

I believe he went to sleep so I will give the lobby code another shot tomorrow, if that doesn't work I will return to this thread. Thanks for the help so far.
