Randomly throughout a expedition, I will get a visual glitch usually a black void circle that slowly will expand until stopping at a random size and then withing 10-30 seconds shrink back slowly, or 90% of my visual screen (everything but the HUD) will go black and red. They all seem to originate from a set spot on my screen, but it happens on average, every other run. It happens most after I kill something or break a lock with a melee weapon, but it has happened without doing anything specific.

usually related to GPU

#

best way to not have that happen again is to cap your fps in a certain range

do your frame drop frequently?

#

because that was the cause + GPU thingy

#

people that have stable frame will never have this happen or less likely

fading vigil
#

is there a way to see the fps?

rugged finch
#

there is an option in-game

fading vigil
#

okay, i will look and see if it drops

rugged finch
#

it's on HUD option

i went and broke a lock and killed enemies, my frames stayed at 144 the whole time, only faltering when i first loaded in during the descending animation and when i first disembarked out of the pod

#

i checked my cpu and gpu usage and it sat around 40-47% for both during the game

are there certain settings i should avoid having or anything?

rugged finch
#

i don't think so, i think only fog setting would change up something

#

the texture do work a bit by lowering, well... the texture loaded a bit

fading vigil
#

so I should mess with the texture settings?

rugged finch
#

depend on your pc, you can change your texture setting mid game and the usage can drop = more fps

#

the most heavy level in this game is R7D1 , you can drop your texture setting while in game to see the fps change

#

i would only recommend doing this if you have the game on SSD, it load super slow on HDD

fading vigil
#

should I change the games location to my SSD?

rugged finch
#

depend on you i guess

#

i wouldn't do the "changing texture mid game" myself since my game was on HDD

#

but you can keep your texture setting low

#

you could also mess around with CPU culling on Advance Graphics
