Do they just not spawn or is it temporary?
If it is something that occurs when moving between zones, that is normal. There are occurences that if you walk through a door or look at it with a certain position or angle it will unload all textures and reload them after a few seconds. Most people I've played with had it. As far as I know there isn't anything that can be done against it.
It is a bit immersion breaking, yes but at least it's not game breaking and with the amount of times this has happened, I am sure the devs are aware of it.
It's artifacting. Level is also large so it plays into account. It's a common issue that pertains to everyone.
At the time when this happened none of my 3 team member had an issues, they could see the environment as normal, only for me the whole zone was invisible, difficult to find where to go.
It doesn't have to happen for the entire group. It pertains on how the level loads via your gpu. Since each level renders GPU loads differently every single time, it's not going to happen at the same time as others. The game is also not very well optimized, especially for bigger levels. I've had it happen to my entire team where it was pitch black in the void and we couldn't see anything.
Speaking of it not being optimized well, it could be something to do with the geos of the level and gpu loading, effectively creating what you see.
