Connected to that same area are the cocoons on the mother's "stomach". That directly quarrelates with the cocoons being the main point of "biomass" on the mother, renderring it as the weakest point. Thus why we shoot the nests and not the actual mother.

Alright so between fog there is a direct connection with the moss that grows the biomass. Thinking of this factor basically means that the fog allows the spores of it to travel through the body. Making its way to either the intestine for males, or the head for females. This would then cause a growth of said biomass sprouting from the patient, allowing it to slowly deform its body and start the proccess of biomass growth.

Alright so there are body parts randomly littered next to dead bodies in the Complex. These body parts can be found in some of the Nyxos fridges. If they really were just taking biomass away from workers then they would also want other parts of the bodies for experimentation later on. So they take the limbs.
Put them in fridges and then use them to make things.

It does seem to be related to if it's a striker or shooter, strikers glow in the chest area which would indicate that if the "tongue" is the parasitic thing then that is indeed what glows

There's bioluminescence in real life amongst muschrooms and insects, they do react to each others emmiting lights (snu-snu or come-at-me-bro lights). Different reactions from sleepers are mostly for convenience and gameplay though (you run/shoot they go red). We can't explain everything we encounter.

Well just like bats sleepers can probably hear things as well, and by making that tick noise we hear is the only time they can actively find us without us running or making excessive noise
They only detect within a close range or if one nearby is searching
If we don’t move while they search they assume we aren’t there, if we keep moving we send them into a rapid search
And if you continue moving it will detect you and finally become aggravated
That’s also why when you’re far enough away they don’t detect your movements, the ticks they release only cover a small area, meaning that beyond a certain point nothing exists to them

Well when we kill a sleeper it falls and makes a small thud on the ground. A sleeper ticking across the path a bit might detect the hammer swing, impact, and final thud on the floor.

here is my break down of dauda
Dauda is a Nigerian male who is described as “cunning, determined, and secretive.” Dauda narrates the World Premiere Trailer, stating, “It comes every night without fail. There are different people every time, but somehow, I recognize them. They are screaming at me. Such hate and anger. I don’t know what I have done to them. They want me to feel what they feel… Then I wake up. I am not sweating or screaming. I’m perfectly calm. I just open my eyes and I’m awake, and it is not a nightmare. It’s just part of me. Who I am. I don’t fight it, I just… live around it.” Whether this indicates Dauda has a close connection with the Complex, the sleepers, or memories Warden has given him is unknown. All of them seem like plausible theories. What we do need to figure out is who “They”, and “It” are. They could be a multitude of people. Though, I don’t think that They is referring to Warden in any way, so we can cross that off the list. They most likely refers to the sleepers or the previous prisoners that died trying to accomplish the same given task from Warden.
Basically what we know so far about him
That would make sense if it were dead prisoners because they were also connected to the Warden as well
The flashes of sleeper images during the trailer would imply more of a sleeper based past, but we can't be 100% sure
And when opening up the game we see flashbacks of charging sleepers and high pitched screaming which could be what Dauda is seeing.
In his dreams that is
i always called the big mother, the grandmother.
Maybe Dauda can see what other prisoners saw and felt before, during, and after they fell during their mission. Maybe in every game we fail in is actually four other guys but dauda sees them has himself and his crew while his crew succeeds every time.
It would explain why we hear the crank grab us after we fail a mission even though we are not close to hole anymore, dauda is waking up. Im not saying this game is a dream im saying it is taken from dauda’s ability
And every time we succeed that is or potentially could be Dauda’s crews success.
“But why do we only see one person while playing the game?” You could be asking.
Well imagine we are tapping into Dauda’s head and watching what one person does.
Since he is connected to them maybe we can tap into that and see them through him.
We could just be scientists under the warden observing what the prisoners are doing through Dauda’s head.
And that injection? A transmitter.
Or something that can neurally send video images to screens
This may be the most far fetched thing I thought of and the hardest one to confirm but it is possible with how little information we have currently about Dauda and his ability.
Another question you may be asking is “well why dont they continue looking at the fallen prisoners to understand more of the transformation process?” To put it simply, there is no point. Sleepers don’t have eyes so they are in darkness and they can’t see emotions so what is the point of trying.
They cant track dead prisoners through nothing
And Baby Cthulhu? Going up to get Dauda for his ability to connect to peoples minds?
That would be one strong army when you can upgrade your mind using Dauda’s untapped potential to telepathically control and entire army without having to make a noise.
Making your whereabouts virtually unknown for the rest of your existence while you play god.
Right now it’s an ant colony. But if nothing can stop it, Hive mind.

It is completely far fetched and a complete guess so I have little proof as to why this would be true.
But im glad that this is a possibility and can be the reason why our four characters are special

If the sleepers killed for fun they would be a lot more active and alert of their surroundings.
Not necessarily, since they already are.
Seeing how they operate when alerted, the croaking and pulsing and then brutal violence to follow.
I can believe they just went berserk and started killing people at random because basic survival told them it was them or us essentially.
Plenty of animals also hunt/kill for sport, we know too little on them to really determine how they think and react outside of what we can see, clearly, through personal interaction.

And the way you described their patterns is basic self defense mechanism for living creatures.
We enacted their fight/flight response which for them is kill or be killed.
Temperature would depend heavily as to if the area the expedition takes place has a functional climate regulator still working or not
Realistically the deeper you go and the hotter it gets
So unless some form of climate control is working you'd expect a rather warm to hot environment
So for instance the labs likely have some form of climate regulation, VS say digsite that could lack it

You arent cooking it
We're not even down a km, so it's not gonna be that hot.
The layers underground act similarity to the atmosphere when it comes to temperature. But instead of cooling off it just gets warmer and warmer. While looking around the complex it most likely seems that it is using it’s reserve power which is specifically used for important stuff needing to be cooled. Showing the graphs above tells us that we do not travel past the Lithosphere guessing we do not pass 20 km and so that we know that our temperatures are around the 500C range when we reach the bottom if 20 km is indeed the bottom. Because of the labs and storage units/coolers we know that there will be AC working with this reserve power because with reserve. Only important things get power but the lower you go the hotter it will get so the more AC will be turned on for people being in that floor making the lower you go, the more important power to cool the level is to keep it’s inhabitants happy and ready for work. With the research I did and the stuff I already knew you can pretty much say that the lower we go the cooler it will be because of Reserve power keeping the AC’s running while higher up becomes what ever the air temperature is on the surface being equator temperatures.
And @solar nova we did go down farther past 1 km and we have a potential 20km depth with where we are located.

Not really. This map shows all earthquakes spots around the globe. Mexico is one of them and near by it is the Yucatan crater which is where our setting is.
The earthquake is pre-complex to begin with.

Given what we know about it, the quake was ~2049 while the complex exists sometime ~2050 or after.

I can tell you that the devs reconstructed R3C1 to be as close to the alpha as possible, that was the intention, however due to the design of certain rooms, it meant that they weren't the same as they were during the alpha, so they had to swap them out, and as you got further out past the fog room it starts diverging in design due to the tiles being different and not able to fully reconstruct it, plus having a slightly different layout is fun as well
With what Doc said in mind we can say that this is a moved Alpha and some things just opened up and changed due to the moving.
