Lucas... I think when it comes to the shadows
it's basically chitin on the spiky bois. it's black and all
The infection gives them... something maybe affecting their skin
Distorting light to give a smoky shadow appearance, yes. The chargers have thick armor on their front side as opposed to their back and they hit harder.
Which allows them to refract light
Hmm... this may be a stretch... lucas hear me out
tooting my own horn but I am quite glad with proving that the facility is 99% likely to be nuclear powered
So... hear me out on this
But... I think the infection possibly gave some of the... sleeper dudes something which makes their skin turn into something known as metamaterials
These materials supposedly refract sound and light.
possible
I do agree that is what's happening here. Honestly I believe the word "meta" is just used to explain the unexplained just like with dark matter.
Nothing wrong with it.
I just try to find the best explanation without the terminology.
I do agree entirely that something in their skin is distorting the light thus giving them a shadow appearance.
Take a look
Found this
Granted this was a few years back but, it’s probably still worth noting
Hold on I'll tell gerald to stop eating the prisoners
Gerald stop
Gerald will stop
Hes sorry
@drowsy furnace my boi...
had the same idea, I just be trying to understand metamaterials better
Hmm...
I have no idea as of now whether metamaterials for invisibility can be made from a human body
If ye look further up in this chat, I mention the idea, but again, I haven’t quite got a good grasp on this subject
But the ones ye be looking for are along the lines of transformation optics and possibly negative index, or something like that.
That’s just what I remember from what I read, but the principles of what they can do and how they do it does sorta match up with where the Shadows are found and how they look
Nice find @drowsy furnace , @frail sand
guys can we get back to my rabbit and how shes going to be the final boss
Clarabelle
your what?
its a boy
Well idk
congratulations
Hope so
i wish the best to you both
and smart too!
Oh yes yes
Will do
He needs to look presentable
Well me and gerald are going to mcdonalds now
have fun
litterally just googled it https://gtfo.gamepedia.com/Lore
How come I can’t find anything on it when I look it up...
you can use the pinned messages, there is a google slide show linked there that has what is known so far in terms of lore
what is confirmed
Hello! If you are unaware, we have Looking For Group (LFG) channels to help users group up and play the game. They are located here: #lfg-north-america / #lfg-latin-america / #lfg-eastern-europe / #lfg-western-europe / #lfg-asia / #lfg-oceania.
If you are unsure of how to create or join a lobby, please see the instructions here: #how-to-matchmake.
I just put it in #gtfo-media but damn did not realize they carried eggs like a spore carrier in halo
So.many. eggs.
Nvm...tumors
I think it's eggs
Eggs, parasitic egg, not fungus, not tumors, eggs.
I think I can do a tier list of "most speculated theories, but I don't have any evidence to back it up and I haven't read any of the available material":
1: It's fungus/aliens/zombies.
2: What if the prisoners are mind controlled.
3: Warden is an AI.
Thanks for coming to my Tedtalk.
Noice
I think the question is why they are sleep so much
and also how they sense us when they are awake, and we are silent still and in the dark
Yes
I think they are sleep because they don’t get enough food
and probably used to be prisoners, who were put to work mineing
and then got infected
c-foam, glow sticks, medipacks, c-foam refills all make sense down there
but why are there bio scanner, guns, sentries, mines, and bullets?
who buff
Mod Buff
Well, if the host is a parasite feeding off the bodies, there ain't much sense in moving about 😛
o
I am, also know as "BigLoreMccree"
Also @pulsar folio Ya' played C2 yet?
Okay, there is some factors that might explain why they are dormant most of the time.
@atomic tree What factors?
hmm
I think the prison was built, for the purpose of creating the complex, because a big bio scanner detected life deep under ground, where no life should be.
and they knew it was probably aliens
From meteor
@pulsar folio it ain't a prison. Its most likely a mining/research site.
Prisoner doesn't have to be in the literal sense
But probably a surface prison, to draw manual laborers from
while guards and scientists direct
I can recommend to read the pinned note :)
Ok
could be something the miners dug up
The slides?
Yes
Also @stable urchin I'm trying to be spoiler friendly, but the thing that is unique to C2's "environment"
Ok so reading the slides
yis
But what if
hm?
the sleepers are prisoners but are just a different species sine infected/infested, so we are playing human prisoners
👀👀 what if
Deeper
Is alien prisoner
Hive mind theory
Angry lore noise
lol
😤
🤔 i believe we will find our answers at the "dig site" in rundown #02
Maybe THAT is where we will find signs of the original source
There will come a day when the majority will agree on lore material. Today is not that day...
indeed
I just read what have been given 😛
😅 ive got too many lore ideas in my head
Coming from studying halo flood lore, tyranids Warhammer40K lore, starcraft zerg lore, fungal zombies lore from the last of us.... many many good ideas heh
Oh, add alien xenomorphs, resident evil t virus/g virus.
All the good things that use humans as a host
Your not the only one. ^
-Meteor kill Dinosaurs, aliens are stuck in meteor underground.
-Bioscanners are invented, and some sort of brain-computer interface.
-Someone makes a really big bioscanner to check for underground life, and calibrate it to scan at the depth of santonian time scale.
-They find life in Mexico meteor, maybe other places as well.
-complex is dug out, probably using prisoners to do most of the work, with scientists doing research, and guards keeping prisoners in line
-prisoners find meteor, some get infected, rest go back to prison, scientists do tests on infected.
-for whatever reason, infected take over complex
-military people are recruited to help clear it out. They are set up with the brain-computer interface to basically possess the healthy prisoners, use them as remote bodies to clear complex.
Idk much about the characters we play, cause they have military training, but maybe they do what they are assigned to win their freedom?
hmm, i have never really been a big fan of the whole, theory that the people we play has, are just puppets controlled by someone else, has they seem to emotion full and all that, to be controlled by someone else
Plus they react too well to pain etc too, so it would have to be a neurological link established
I think maybe the controllers don’t know that they are puppeting another
hmmm
Except perhaps bishop might know
Wouldn't it just be easier to send them down without being controlled then
You don’t want to waste those with experience
The unskilled prisoners are useless on their own, just bags of meat for the skilled prisoners
extra lives for them to inhabit
no, i mean, like send down the prisoners with out being controlled
Yeah but they would be incompetent
We know they have some shit installed in them
Maybe they got some skills installed too
Idk
The Matrix, downloads military training to brain
It’s four random dudes compared to 4 trained soldiers
Like the professional soldiers would only gain experience each time
Could be like the neuromods from Prey.
With possession, they can only get better at completing missions
If it’s just random prisoners, lots will die for no use
well
Every time a possessed prisoner dies, the possessor learns
It seems the warden seems to have enough prisoners tho
Every time a unpossessed prisoner dies, nothing is gained
🤔 where do all the weapons go that the dead prisoners had if this is a repeated process?
We find ammo packs
But no weapons
My guess is they get eaten along with the clothes
insert infested marines here
I tried using the prisoner surrogate theory but to no avail simply because of the canonical characters having names.
Mindcontrol theory doesn't make sense, people controlling clones doesn't makes sense, devs have state it ain't aliens.
ye
Thx Buff
The whole controlling thing also takes out the risk of dying
Since
you know you are just controlling someone
I have my big boi theory wall of text, there is some speculation, but all is based on what devs have said, what we see in game and some common sense 😛
So I have a modified theory
Mind sharing buff?
The scientists made new technologies from observing the infected
Okay inhales
My take of the story is following: Santonian Industries mines in the (Chicxulub) Crater (based on some real life drillings done in 2016). They find -something- down there, that might not been super harmful and collaborate with what we now know as the Warden. Warden moves down to into the complex and set up labs at the lower levels, away from the gaze of governmental control and such, to experiment on whatever they found. Somewhere (the devs said themselves) "beyond the year 2020" an outbreak happens and totally wipe out the humans of the Complex. The (group know as) Warden says "fuck that shit" and put a lid on the whole operation and let it simmer for a couple of years, hoping that most monsters would get bored and die/decay. And now the Warden have re-opened the hole to sent people down to salvage whatever useful information and date.
I like that theory
thats crazy
I think warden created santonian, after scanning the meteor with a huge bioscanner
and finding stuff
and then making a cover corparation to drill there
so wait have they ever said that warden was a person or what
No
No not yet
maybe he a robot
All we know of warden is that they have a voice
Therefore, most likely, the operatives that we know always conduct successful expeditions
oh ok
Has anyone tried pinging the warden on thr computer?
yes
What if there are four “mind states” which are updated every time a mission goes off flawlessly
Hm?
So prisoners get their minds wiped and replaced
Why?
You on the mind scenarios alot
like the surrogacy, but can happen simultaneously
well cortex connection stuff has got to mean something
The cortex interface is an integrated HUD and allows the Warden to see through our eyes.
idk about that
The people that get dropped in, are clearly not voluntaries
I am with gears here
It also allows the warden to see what the hell we are doing down there
Then warden could probably remote terminal stuff
so idk much but do we know what the monsters are yet or no
They are parisites that take over humans
weird
We know we got parasitic eggs inside the sleepers
Just hosts mutated from a parasitic organism.
But
they look like failed clones with some weird shit inside them
clones?
Parasitic organisms can be from.bacteria too. Just from a higher level of organism
idk i was just thinkin
Clones makes sense for the people who go in to the place
They are cloned in the tubes
hmmmm
and it’s ok if some die
Would they have the tech for that tho?
There are a lot of genetic data things,
I forget did thet confirm its not aliens?
So not alien parisites?
Oki then its an ancient species of organism
Or, created by the warden
@pulsar folio don't know about that
there so weird lol
i don't think the warden would great that tho
So the sleepers themselves aren’t aliens, but an infection that made people into sleepers could be? @stable urchin
Well maybe
They made a prison complex deep underground for some reason
Like It's clear the sleepers aren't alien
Complex isn’t a prison
so are they are infected people right
Prison is not part of the complex
yes
hmmm
bye thx for the info
Later unzipped
Cya thanks for joining
nice pretending to be clever with y'all
lol
Listen we arw scholars here
Did it better than me lol
XD
lol
I still say its airborne
But the eggs
eggs?
Sleepers have “parasitical eggs” inside
yes
ew
Yea from the airborne
Devs said that it is not sure what Warden is, it can be a group, person, AI. But the bootup for the game state that your deployment is being issued by an "Manual override", hence why I think Warden is just an automated OS system, with someone behind it.
Confirmed that Santonian Industries are an investment group and most likely a mining company.
The cortex interface (and NRV Probe) is most likely an augmented integrated HUD.
Buff is really into this
yea wow
oh no
So
Most likely not airborne, as the "entity" is an parasite like Scabies or Lice.
My theory is that the "worms" the Sleepers attack with is the real monster, but that is speculation tho.
They could be filled with spores
Do we need to at this moment? I’m sure we can connect the dots ourselves.
theyre prolly not eggs, just sacs of the ifection
It is eggs, does people read anything? 😛
Good yummy sacs of infected repurposed human flesh
thats fun
yea you see its kinda hard to read when you dont know where to look :p
@atomic tree parasitic eggs. Which means what comes first
The vood chicken or the parasitic egg it lays inside u?
Void*
the final boss is a chicken
is there actually a final boss?
I think someone, warden or santonian, found some ancient DNA, and used it in experiments. One thing they did was make a bioweapon with the sleeper parasite, as well as a cloning technology.
Sleepers take over complex.
They cloned some military people who they hired, and use those clones to clear the complex. New clones are willing as they don’t know what they are getting into, and clones who have succeeded past missions know it isn’t that bad, and that they can do it.
Well, if they found the organism down there and sat up a black site lab, then the odds of someone injecting the eggs into a poor guy very likely.
If they found the eggs, they could use the study of molding bodies to create cloning
If they made them, can us their past experience
wait so those things are clones or no
Not clones
lol
Hol' on, where do you have any proof or argument for it to be clones?
On the contrary the game state that the guys is allowed to keep things they salvage, that would make for case of them being the same people.
I’m thinking that the test subjects(now sleepers) were clones
see
And the scavengers are clones who can repeatedly clear
Again, what proof?
Theres no clone machines
pretty sure theyre the same people. the pods clean up the infection while they sleep, as well as prolly reducing the infection rate.
there is lots of genetic samples, and person tubes with lots of pipes. Also the parasite basically corrupts humans into identical sleepers, and they could observe how that works to clone people
you know he kinda has a point
like make their own things similar to the parisite but set to a certain person rather than a sleeper
they alll look the same
babies are just parasites for mothers until they are born so this has some truth to it
Dark i know but my biology professor taught me that prospective lol
They just needed some sufficiently experienced people to make clones of
I dont think we play as clones though
Oki but....why...do...they gLOW?
Them all "looking the same" can also just be a budget limitation tho.
^
like of the game?
Yea that is true
All four of them are named, voiced, and characterized
I think that there are multiple sets of clones of the same 4 people
Game is still early access
maybe they add more people, they just add another army of clones of them
Think of the military use of these developments
You release sleepers on enemy country
Your army of clones cleans up
no more enemies
I may make this a suggestion but what do yall think of an infection meter
all it cost was some prisoners to turn into clones / sleepers
Nope no infection meter
Like, add to health... your status of being infected?
then we'd be making this game about whos the least infected
Oki thats a no then lol
what would be nice however is a sanity mechanic to always make you guessing
spook because game already hard
I don’t think the infection could have meaningful effects from only a couple hours
@fallen cove is onto something
Make it so u start seeing random 'figures' glowing in the distance
U start thinkijg theres more enemies hiding in the dark...
Arent there shadow monsters?
yea there is but i dont think theyre summond from sanity loss
I beleive it was something with their HUD
maybe a malfunction
Is it likely, that bioscanner tech was developed from the monsters sixth sense of detection?
Because if they are awake, they sense you even if silent, in dark, and still
I believe its possible to have a connection.
I think it makes sense
If we compile all of the monsters unique features, I think we could likely explain many of the strange things and technologies of the complex
i think why they glow though is similar to sonar, they are in a sleep state, and when their heart beats, it's actually alive and awake and is searching for a host. When they find their host they are not going to stop unless you kill it.
I think the glow is for environments where they need to communicate between each other, but sound can’t be heard for whatever reason
maybe in space
Not outer space
no they hear sound
They use their clicks to echo locate maybe
they may not be blind, but they prolly only see colors
Echolocate with sound, but what if the ambient sound is too loud for them to communicate with sound?
...they dont have eyes
they could “click” with light instead
And whats the purpose of scout
To seek out
scout screams when touches other carbon base life
and also glows
But the glow isn’t too much
I think in a louder environment, they would glow brighter
and make sound less
glows louder
That gave me a giggle
Ive seen people say turn your flsshlight off youre too loud
Makes sense
and saying they dont have eyes, thats a bit unfair considering they use their tongues as a long range weapon
spooky
wait a minute
What
what if they are built like a turtle? theyre alive and well on the inside and when they echo locate theyre out to seek. they just cant stay out long, they seem to just die when exposed to the air. or at least get absorbed into the air?
bassicly, a body within a body
like the bodies are dead
there sensative to light though, not air
the bodies are just the shell
Perhaps, but what if theres something in the air that makes it age faster?
I think more likely, there is just limited energy and food
Theres definitely something in the air
tongue
Tounge
That would be pronounced toonjeh
no
its Tongue
Tounge
are we really making this argument in a lore channel
Im not lol, just google it or look in a dictionary i wont argue
yes you were?
Ok whatever
I think they stay sleep to save energy, as there is no food
inspect element 😡
ohh a lop! how adorable
I know better than to listen to your lies @trail grove
Ok
I dont even know how to make a wiki page
Why should I believe you
just google it yourself lol
I will
This is why we cant have chickens
?
Cause we can not even google tongue
*tounge
@fickle stream @pulsar folio please keep images in here to the Lore and GTFO. Thanks.
ok
I have actually found a bit of more evidence towards the clone theory I have
"there are different people every time, but I recognize them, somehow"
first line of trailer
It could be that so many prisoners are sent down that the Warden is seeing a pattern.
That actually does hint at clones, but it could be other things still
But that gives cloning a possibility
Why would it be "different people" if they all were clones that looked alike tho?
If it was clones he would say: "It is the same people every time, But I think they are different somehow".
True, and it wouldn't make sense to say different people are controlling the clones since we play as them and they have the same personality
So it most likely isn't clones, but what did he mean by that then
So each of the clones is different
but they are all clones from the same 4 people
like each clone has own personality and such
bishop 001,002,003,004,005,etc
maybe individual clones minds are wiped partially after missions if they aren’t sane enough
infection, sanity, scan results readout at the end of match
A few important questions I think:
Is warden affiliated to santonian, or just sending people to scavenge from santonian’s abandoned complex?
what do warden and/or santonian want done?
what have they done already?
how does these actions tie in to the sleepers?
Well instead of just cherrypick one line, let's look at the whole speech:
“It comes every night without fail”
This can either be nightmares or the sleepers in the dark. Tho, it is interesting to see it is IT, not they or them.
“There are different people every time”
Well, that can be either he drops down with different people, talk about what he sees in his nightmare or what he encounters in the complex. But most of all this line insinuate that what he see looks different.
“But I recognize them somehow”
Whatever he sees have some kind of familiarity, being a hunch or notion, but it something beyond the looks. Maybe he recognize the sleepers former self, as humans.
“They’re screaming at me I don’t hear them but I know they are screaming”
This sounds like a very vivid nightmare/dream state. But can also be the monsters sounds and roars, there ain't no words, so he can't hear or understand them.
“Such hate, and anger”
But he convey that they feel big mad and anger.
“I don’t know what I have done to them”
Once again, either nightmare/dream experience or he just simply ask into the nature of the creatures.
“They want me to feel what they feel”
See above.
“Then I wake up and I’m not sweating or screaming, I’m perfectly calm. I just open my eyes and I’m awake!”
This understate that the previous statements most likely was a dream, but it also reflect how the narrator is so used to the life of horror and death that he have become numb. That numbness might be why he now instead of thinking about the fear or horrors of the creatures, he is pondering of what they are.
“It’s not a nightmare, it’s just a part of me, who I am.”
Another line of his acceptance of what his life is, that he have found some kind of peace or numbness about the whole situation.
"I don’t fight it, I just, live around it”
Underlining the previous statement.
I think that Nigerian guy, after going unconscious and opening his eyes, became the worm that attacked Irish guy, as for those last few lines.
Again the whole “There are different people every time, But I recognize them somehow” ONLY makes sense as a "clone confirmation" if you isolate it that single line.
Well, the trailer shows Dauda (Nigerian guy) getting attack BY the worm soo...
maybe it's memory fuckery going on ?
Well Nigerian guy’s voice is overlaid with someone walking into the hallway.
Hallway man turns around NOONE BEHIND HIM
hence his familiarity with some of the "people" he sees
Hallway man turns back, sees worm, VOICE THAT ISNT DAUDA says wtf
Screen cuts to black
Dauda definitely became worm and ate irish?/british? Guy
I assume so bc that is the only name not in the HUD, but I saw that was a random guy called North, so unless you can confirm that North is Dauda?
You have nothing else than a hunch
well dauda accepts that it isn’t a nightmare, so why would he scream wtf
“It’s just a part of me, it’s who I am”
That is a good point, but why would Dauda be a worm, when we play him in the game?!
He becomes a worm after dying
The trailer implies that you become a monster after you die
And now you take another line and isolate it, it ONLY makes sense if you disregard the rest of the line.
But then he doesn't become a monster.
Also devs have confirm that the worm in the trailer is an Enemy they have in development.
The trailer is a clone of dauda getting dropped into the complex with a team of fellow clones, they fail the mission, dauda falling, then either a later mission of fresh clones, or a clone who was with the dauda clone, but survived the alarm that originally killed the dauda clone narrating the trailer, gets killed by the infected dauda clone.
not dying
Okay, what proves he is a clone?
Because I as stated before: Why would it be "different people" if they all were clones that looked alike tho?
If it was clones he would say: "It is the same people every time, But I think they are different somehow".
The other line flows better
And there isn’t a huge distinction between their meanings
Barely any at all tbh
Yes there bloody is! One is they look alike the other they don't!
Another meaning is, that he kind of recognizes some of the sleepers, as infected clones of his teammates
Different sleepers every time
But he recognizes them, somehow, as some used to be clones of him/his teammates before fallling and getting infected, as this particular narrator clone does later in the trailer
Both his teammates, and the sleepers, are different every time
And how would you argue that makes sense in context of the first line? “It comes every night without fail”?
i think it would make better sense to say "the warden sends us in every night without fail"
saying "it" implies an outsider perspective
It being the warden and/or the descent into the complex
Would say that doesn't make sense as that would make that line a "standalone" line without context for the rest of the lines.
Also "I don’t fight it, I just, live around it” doesn't makes sense in the "Dauda becoming a monster narrative", firstly he does fight the monsters, so "I don't fight it" would be false. Secondly "I don’t fight it, I just, become it” would make more sense then.
honestly idk whos perspective the narrators is from in that vid
i really cant tell :,(
It is confirmed it is Dauda. At least Wiki says so
But run by a lot of mods close to devs 😛
this is wrong tho
and im sure theres others i havent seen yet
but thats besides the narration
Ammo does give ammo to special slot?
yea but its not 20%
Oh that part 😛
u can test it on c1 w/ all the spare ammo packs lying around and it raises special ammo by smth like 30% instead
some places in the wiki dont even sound like they were made by native english speakers
Ah okay, pretty sure my Revolver gets 20%, but that is just revolver
Well, it is community effort so you get community results
tru but thats why i dont trust it
its editable by anyone in community
not necessarily the best educated ones
Mhm, but then again, there is little to go on and there is some wild crazy ideas out there 😛
i feel like ppl could experiment alot tho
its not the issue of whether theres enough research that can be done
bc theres plenty
i just did a bunch of suicide runs on b2 just to test the weapons
Thanks 😛
[The mission/descent] comes every night without fail.
There are different people every time, but, I recognize them, somehow.
(Sleepers being different, but recognizable, as a large amount or infected clones of his teammates and him.)
They’re screaming at me. I-I don’t hear them, but I know they’re screaming.(sleepers)
Such... hate, and anger.(sleepers again)
I don’t know what I have done to them. (Why are sleepers so mindlessly angry?)
They want me to feel what they feel.
(Sleepers wanting to infect him)
alarm sounds, viewer starts fighting
scren cuts to black
Then I wake up. I’m not sweating or screaming. I’m perfectly calm. I just open my eyes, and I’m awake.
cuts back to gameplay, human screams in the background, viewer is alone and is walking away from them
And it’s not a nightmare. It’s just part of me. Who I am. I don’t fight it. I just... Live around it.
throughout last paragraph of voiceover, viewer keeps making U-Turns away/towards human screams, until, a flesh-worm latches onto the viewer’s face as a voice that isn’t dauda screams “what the fu-”, as audio and video cut out (dauda and viewer who flees the screams are different people, dauda “woke up” as a flesh worm/sleeper)
The “tounge” attack on most sleepers, i think is probably actually a worm like that, and same with scout tentacles.
I think a major goal of santonian/warden was to be able create clones and/or super soldiers, with an experiment that may or may not have used alien DNA going horribly wrong, infesting the complex with monsters.
idk dood
i feel like the transcript can be interpreted both ways (from human and sleeper point of view), neither of which is totally plausible imo
The warden/santonian is forced to rely on previous models to clear out the complex
idk if the warden really knows whats going on either
u can see from the level descriptions that the warden seems to be blindly poking around
with the main focus of going deeper
the lvl descrption of A1 says that u need administrator credentials to enter level B
and once u get to level B, the warden's lvl description states u need officer credentials for the powergrid
and when u get to C, the powergrid is used to get further down (level D)
and then at level D, it just says that theres a way out of D
i feel like the warden doesnt know whats down there either
I say warden/santonian because in any stage it could be either that is important
and that it is just following a search pattern
santonian definitely being involved in the complex prior to outbreak
warden definitely after outbreak
idk if the warden is related to santonian
I don’t either
i just thought santonian was a mining company
but it could be
tru
Santonian is a “strategic investments company”
This complex is one of them
The upper floors/first rundown seem mostly to be storage/maintenance areas
oopz
but their logo
it looks like two peaks above a horizon
with a crack into the earth
lemme look it up actually
i dont remember ever seeing "strategic investments" in game
yea its on the wiki but does it reference any image in the game
(i dont trust the wiki)
It says that in the pinned messages here as well
@surreal swift
in the google slide
It was in an inspect element somewhere or something
I think it was on a website made by the devs for Santonian industries, thats where they got that from I think
Yeah
described it as such
You are correct
The author of said website is labeled in the matedata as "F. Bishop"
So we're also think Bishop worked for Santonian before he and his team became "inmates"
i think the inmates are 4 classifications of supersoldier
and there are large quantities of each
probably one was based on/named for that author then
The characters are Bishop, Dauda, Hackett, and Woods
We see them in the drop every time and observing the facility no corpses are found with their gear on
Dauda is the narrator in the gameplay trailer
corpses are absorbed to the infected ranks
dauda was heavily implied to become an infected worm in that narrated trailer
So you're siding with the clone theory
I think warden worked for santonian, and betrayed them, releasing the parasite outside of the safe rooms for it, and is using some of the surviving supersoldier strains to take control of the complex
santonian was cloning supersoldiers among other things in the complex
warden made a bioweapon and purposefully unleashed it to take control
using the supersoldiers as manpower
I'm unsure about Santonian
warden may have once worked for santonian, or might be a scavanger
On the website they are labeled as a "strategic investment group" though all equipment below is labeled as "Santonian Mining industries"
but santonian was definitely up to something in the complex
Which would make sense as a shootoff
is there any legit lore on this game yet or is this just all theory ? wanna try and understand the lore
And we also see at least 7 other companies' equipment in the facility
Or something around 7
could be subcorps of santonian
it seems to be that the first rundown is storage/maintainance areas
the juicy stuff is coming later
deeper in the complex
We have two reactors in the first rundown, and it's unclear exactly what B2 is, though it's possibly infrastructure for B1
Or wait
C1 and C2
nope, that's still wrong
B2 and C1
There we go
reactors are part of complex maintanaince
Alright, fair enough
Still, the theory supersoldier theory still seems lacking, considering we see zero cases of their gasmasks or clothing being left avout
i think they get eaten
Just the black and grey mining jump suita
and supersoldier gear wouldnt be there
it would be in crates
I dont think the supersoldiers were ready for deployal yet
Ah so you aren't referring to the four we play as as supersoldiers
Then why would only their clothes get eaten and not the mining jump suits?
warden comes in, takes the tubes of soldiers, makes backup clones of the 4 best ones, gears them up
and they and their stuff are absorbed
Except the infection doesn't obsorb clothing
We can see this on the corpses, the body bloats and tears the clothing
And it also appears that infected find clothing is irritated as some are shown having taken off the top of their suit
corpses or alive sleepers
it also seems from the narrated trailer, that the narrator kept more conciousness than the average sleeper
still talking in english
also being a worm, rather than a sleeper
The narrator only gets attacked at the end, though
the narrator attacks the irish man
the irish man runs away from human screaming
the narrator "wakes up" off camera as a worm
narrator eats irish man's face
The guy were in the perspective of is the narrator, though
I dont think so
And "Irish man" is actually nigerian
No
Nigerian man is the narrator
Irish man is the guy who says “what the fu-“ before being cut off by a tentacle face eating thing gets him @narrow elbow
Nigerian man wakes up off camera as the tentacle face eater
"What the hell is tha-" is his actual statement
ok close enough
And it's short enough a phrase that an accent cannot be discerned
In the last scene, the person who’s eyes we borrow turn around plenty of times to show there is no one else near them, and when they freak out, it is obviously not Nigerian man.
Nigerian man is Dauda
Ok
Also, don't base too much off the trailer
Narrator is not the person who’s eyes we see through in the last scene
We cannot confirm it as canonical
It is though to me.
Why shouldn’t it be?
Especially since it's implied that the individual we are following is the last one standong
Dauda is the narrator and the character in the perspective of the trailer.
We play as clones of those 4 people
and when you die, you get infected
to prey on later copies of your teammates, and yourself.
Ao why would Dauda all of a sudden be calm if everyone else who is infected is described as screaming and angry?
Also*
Based on your enterpretation
He wakes up, and he is calm. Last scene perspective is not calm at all.
What’s going on bookworms
also his sweat isn’t just going to disappear
So now you're saying he DOESNT become the worm?
No
Hi @narrow elbow
Heyya G_TEAM
😄
He wakes up and is calm, his sweat disappears(because he is a worm now)
You can be calm and angry
And he could just have a temporary amount of time lucid before he enters a hibernation state like other sleepers do.
It happens after the fighting
No
Human screams are still audible in the background
Someone was a coward and ran away.
If anything his statement seems more accurate to an individual surviving in high stakes situations.
To be eaten by their infected ally
You go into a flow state
It's described by police officers and soldiers
You hit a state of calm so you can work more effectively
That doesn’t change your voice to someone else’s though
Dauda doesn’t talk to his teammates in the trailer. He only talks to himself
You're still assuming the accent of the person we're viewing off of half a second of speech
It is more than enough to know they aren’t the same voice as the narrator
And I assert again that we are viewing the situation through Dauda
And he's also the anrrator
No
The voices are too different
Half a second of speech can be enough to identify people for sure
His calm voice versus his frantic voice can be that different.
Not to switch accents
He doesnt
Because someone else says those words
"What da hell is tha-"
Like i said, the phrase is not long enough to determine accent
Yes it is
Multiple accents can be taken from it
Are you Irish or Nigerian?
You can pick out both
Not in that clip
.
That's what I'm saying.
I’m irish enough to tell that that is an Irish accent
And definitely not the same person as who narrates
The narrator?
no
The guy we are watching
The “what the hell is tha-“ person
Oh I see
I think dauda is probably the person we watch until vision cuts our
Same gun
then when it comes back, it’s Irish man
So you’re saying we switch from dauda to Hackett
After the vision cuts out in the middle
Oh yeah
That’s definitely not dauda speaking
Sounds like Hackett or (north) at the time
Which like you already stated wopwop
I didn’t see gun variation between anyone in the trailer
Irish guy is attacked while Dauda narratates.
There is no doubt about it
Yeah I agree
It doesn’t sound like he’s talking from another person
It sounds right there
And there is no one near Irish man
No mic lag or anything like we hear earlier
He turns around enough to make that clear
That Dauda is the worm that slaps Irish man is a bit less certain, but his awakening lines support that
I thought similar to that at first but it wouldn’t make sense unless the trailer takes place sometime in a farther rundown
Because we see dauda all of rd q
Rd 1
?
Well we play as them
I think that there are large numbers of clones of all 4 people
Clone theory is questionable
Daudas opening lines support that, as well as infected once being clones as well
Because we clearly see the hole shenanigans about redeployment
“There are different people every time, but I recognize them, somehow”
Clones that succeed can be redeployed
I think there are 3 options
You mean that they stay the same people with renewed bodies
No
Yeah in the HSUs
A new one is woken up when the past one dies
I see where you’re heading at
That’s a new clone theory
Old one was weird
I can agree with that
Also, some clones may have been lost when the infected took over,
Yeah
And warden lets them keep their memories apparently
So
These guys don’t get a break
:l
I think their memories would be lost as soon as they are infected
like their brains become teeth
Up to the point when they are killed that is
Like a fresh clone keeps their memory of past lives until the death of the last life
So either he kept his memories or like he hasn’t died at all
And each clone keeps their sentience after they are infected
They just like napping
Imagine once you wake them they r just tryna cuddle
We r so mean to them

:(()
Look how cute they are
Awww
Do you think that while our visual perspective is from a “current” set of clones, it is narrated by an already infected dauda?
Well that the narrator is a sleeper/scout/something else
Different people every time are all the different sets of clones that get dropped in
Including some of himself
Yeah
I see i see
He could be a clone talking about the other clones, he could be a clone talking about the sleepers, he could be a sleeper talking about the clones
So many possibilities
Well
Assuming he is a sleeper
Than the gameplay we see is his clones view
And then hacketts
And he’s the tentacle thing
bro I can’t get over ur pop
Pop
Pop
Pfp
The guinea pig lol
Or rat idk
Rat yes
alright I'm back, had to get back into work
also, I've had this question a bit
Are there only 3 in the trailer?
and is North Hackett?
and is his name Hackett North or North Hackett?
@stone vine how did the taco bell ceo job interview go
oh im so glad
how long
noice work
also, @pulsar folio look at the HUD, you still have North, Bishop and Woods the entire time. and you're weapons don't change. they are all downed and you go down after
so 100% you're wrong
Either North and this guy aren't Hackett and Dauda, or we're seeing the last part through Dauda.
For a day
We came back and they said we had corn virus
But idk what that is
@narrow elbow woah, good work sir
But yeah, half a second is not enough time to determine any accent. Especially when you consider how foreign accents are affected when you place that person in a place with a completely different collection of accents.
I think that ur from Australia
@narrow elbow
Or from like Tennessee
Either or
😄
Damn I thought I had it
or what it's actually called, Vermont
it's the gameplay trailer, check out the 10 chambers collective youtube channel
they have the transcript
Personally am I not a big fan of the clone theory
after seeing that there are no remnants of these theoretical clones, I also have lost alot of faith in it
like, if you need another theory to patch the holes in your current theory, you're likely not on the right track
Also.wonder where they get the tech for it
yeah that's alot of military-grade equipment down the drain all the time
multiverse concept isn't out of the question yet
even though no evidence is present for it, lol
It'd turn this from a regular horror game to a Lovecraftian Horror though
wouldn't that be fun, Santonian being a multidimensional company. That's already a concept in a show in an 8-bit game. It's called "survive the night" or something. basically the company has an infinite amount of knowledge by having employees being able to warp into new bodies in another dimension, and each copy of the company is able to communicate with the others.
oh
yeah, ain't that a mind fuck
@narrow elbow military grade equipment is garbage
i was reading what was said thought id just point that out
It's espensive though
yes military grade equipment is expensive however it is garbage
$700,000 vehicle and breaks down after two weeks of use
$2000 radio cannot work inside tactical vehicle
I've been told about those vehicles
Navy Buddy was in one when it hit an IED
thing went way up in the air and one of his teammates got launched out of the window. everyone survived, though.
And I don't know if the ability of the radio would effect the ability to get signal through the vehicle.
mind you, I'm not saying military grade isn't garbage, I'm just questioning your choice of examples.
I am the same, the vehicles are also made for a single demand, of which are whole new equipment that is limited unlike other which is made in high demand of a larger pool (so costs is higher for the more specific and higher craftmanship for each equipment than regular civilian use), then count in the amount if various utilities that equipment is made to be used for, like for an example lets take vehicles.
They're made to be survivable against many sorts of threats and environment depending on where its going, be it arid hot areas or cold winters of the north. Then you have IEDs, Mines, RPG (Rocket propelled grenades) and ATGMs, 7.62mm rounds and more. Vehicles are made to survive as much as it can against those threats AND more, so that makes it even more expensiver to make and create unlike other civilians vehicles.
Regarding that it breaks down, there are various reasons, factors and causes for that, can be bad maintenance, privates stealing parts, sabotage, too much action that has made people survive at the expense of equipment, etc
Theres even a YouTube video showcasing a MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicle have a IED blow up underneath it, it flips. No casualties though
His point is that it isn't the most perfect example of something known for it's quality. Mititary grade is just slang and nice sounding words to give stuff a little push when it comes to marketing
Military grade clothing is hilariously known for being absolute ass, specially footwear
It'd turn this from a regular horror game to a Lovecraftian Horror though
It isn't the existence of a multiverse that'll turn this into a Lovecraftian Horror game lmao.
it's nowhere close to being one. Lovecraftian Horror is sometimes referred as cosmic horror, most of which are supernatural in his stories, we talking being of unlimited power and size, whose form we cannot even begin to comprehend or else we might go insane
Ie. Cthulhu , all of Bloodborne's lore and plot
dude what
I know what Lovecraftian Horror is, I've got his entire collection of works on my bookshelf
An corporation with infinite resources via a dimension DOESN'T sound like lovecraftian horror to you? evil beyond our comprehension?
definitely ticks all the boxes for me
SCP is a mixed bag
some of it definitely falls into that category
some of it doesn't
some yes, but I wouldn't say it's Lovecraftian in nature though
I would argue that the reddit creepy pasta about stairs in the woods could fit into it
it's definitely inspired by it
specifically when it's talked about what happens when you actually go on the stairs
that one is a suprisingly bad story
no idea how it ever got famous
in any case, I just think Lovecraftian horror is defined by the cosmic terror of it
I guess different opinions
I think the best description of lovecraftian horror is "horror which makes you feel like an ant"
and that's the exact description I give to multidimensional corporations
immoral, with indispensable resources, out for its own self interests
You can definitely tell the person who screams at the end isn’t dauda, though
@narrow elbow as for the names
I’m pretty sure that Dauda was never human during that trailers
The whole time he was infected, Hackett, North, Bishop, Woods were the 4 who dropped down
The different people everytime are the new versions of his teammates. Dauda narrates a failed mission, and kills Hackett personally at the end.
(A) Doubt
also, another individual that never shows up after seems like a blow to the clone theory
where we could just explain it as being Hackett's first or last name
And you are saying that santonian creates a multiverse to mine infinite resources?
potentially
Or north is Dauda’s first or last name
the actual value would be having infinite knowledge
you could basically do world-ending experiments non-stop in other dimensions with zero consequences
But the other dimensions could know how you got there, and go to you
so not no consequences
If you are the only company to have figured it out
and you communicate back and forth
But there is nothing to suggest that is happening
I know
It was just a fun thought
there's zero evidence for or against it
and it's most likely not the case
There is more evidence, that santonian isn’t doing anything about the complex anymore
After it was overrun, they abandoned it completely
And now the warden is slowly but surely taking control of it
@atomic tree That's basically what I talk about half the time i'm here
huge amount of half-baked speculation runs through here and everyone gets too attached to their ideas
Word my man. The whole clone/mindcontrol theories is just running rampant
like earlier this month some guys saw on the trailer that "demon tick" pops up for a couple frames and they did a very quick translation of the crater impact name "chixculub" and found the segments can mean "demon" and "flea"
and from there it exploded into the infection being caused by prehistoric ticks
Prehistoric parasites, sure
I bet a bunch of people still support it, even though the evidence they grabbed is super thin and stretched
Or some sort of derivative from prehistoric dna that santonian made
I mean, we know it is a parasite
