Honestly not happy at the price that parts are going to be
Low production = lower inventory
lower inventory = artificial inflation of demand
higher demand + low inventory = higher prices
@abstract kite Did you hear? People on EBay and such are selling Face masks for like $200-$500
@abstract kite its insane
Lower inventory does not lead to artifical inflation of demand, but an artifical increase of value.
If demand is the same.
Lower production leads to lower supply, but depending on demand, this could mean either the same inventory, or it could be because of inventory surplus, or it could lead into an inventory shortage, this case being more likely.
The important part though, is that lower supply with the same demand leads to artifically increased value. Depending on the demand and supply, it will be affected differently.
Lower supply does not mean artifical inflation of demand, because demand is not directly correlateable to supply.
This is the basis to which you can understand scalping. Artifical low supply being created to increase value of a product or service beyond the value estimated through demand.
I totally agree but the word artificial seems not needed
i wanna ask 8 gb ram geforce 1050 i5 pc. how much fps will you get running gtfo
Artifical really just means that it is not follow the normal cycle of demand to supply into value.
1050 and i5, eh you'd have to lower texture settings maybe adjust cpu culling. Might get 45ish maybe
Wanna know something scary? 5700XT has a very low default fan curve. I forgot to reset the aggressive curve that I like. I quickly scramble for my settings and see my Ambient temp is hovering around 80c while my junction was around 85c. The fans are venting now though.
How much would a decent logitech mic cost?
Hahahha
Trying to buy 1 for the game
Since my mic is broken
Does it have to be a logitech mic? And what budget are you thinking?
I got some cheap XLR china mic set for like 30 bucks, got a phantom power supply for it for 20 and I think its pretty good
Or spend an extra 10 bucks & just get a snowball with awesome sound quality.
I got mine on sale for under 30 brand new.
Hoping to get some recommendations direct from gamers on a monitor to utilize an RTX-2080 Super with a preferred resolution of 1440. If you respond please tag, thanks for reading!
Thanks for the reply. I'm not really familiar with freesync/g sync.. will I suffer for having an Nvidia card with that monitor?
@median moon
I think some Freesync monitors can support G Sync now.
Yeah uh, monitor manufacturers started branding their Freesync monitors as "G-sync Compatible"
Which confirms that they tested it
Glass has an Nvidia graphics card, he could likely confirm if its working well.
Any freesync can work, but won’t work too well unless it’s g-sync compatible or gsync itself
It can work well, just that it's not tested. So no "stamp of aprooval" from NVIDIA.
Or possibly tested and didn't pass.
Point is you should try it even if it's not "g-sync compatible"
My game keeps crashing, can someone give me advice?
I keep getting the unity engine crash
so i'm looking to replace my Ryzen 5700 with nvidia now that it is green screening, black screening, flickering, and failing to load textures after only one month of use. Any recommendations on a card they produce for less then $450 USD?
Hmm
@abstract kite Use DDU uninstall and reinstall your GPU drivers. Down clock or up clock your GPU. Uninstall/reinstall or validate your game files. Relaunch game. Other options: Don't play games on a MAC, don't play on a PC that does not meet min specs listed in the store page.
What does DDU mean? I've done everything else.
Google Driver uninstaller. Find the one that says DDU download that one and use it.
DDU is a program that wipes out all traces of old drivers that might cause problems due to their legacy files.
@lament fiber The Direct Competition for the 5700XT would be the 2060ti which is going for $370+~ on Amazon. If you want to save a bit the 2070ti is a better choice imo.
Okay thanks @lament fiber
I was looking at a 2070 or 2060. I would get a 2080 but it is not worth the money they want.
I agree
The 2080 has been out for what 3 years now and is still over $1000? Ha..... no thanks.
I got my dad the 2070ti for about three weeks now. He's had no complaints with it.
Well my GPU was not showing any signs of problems until windows changed to this new 1909 build. The driver update AMD put out on Feb 28 did nothing to quell the problems.
If I have to look forward to these issues for every windows build update... no thanks
I tried playing Space Engineers and it crashed my system.
I can play space engineeres but not the 5th level. that level crashed 5 seconds after it loads ever time
My GPU telling me it was overheating at 43c.....
Its been a known problem for over 9 months now.
Look at how old the game is now. I doubt the developers are going to bother fixing it.
I am amazed that the SE community did not release a fan patch for the game after 9 months of this problem being there.
@lament fiber where did you download your DDU?
We could always round up all of team mallet and go "knock" on the dev's door and let them know they need to fix their game.
Download the DDU!
@abstract kite http://letmegooglethat.com/?q=DDU+Uninstaller
Thanks @lament fiber
@abstract kite Right now I am looking at what brand to get for 1080's, 2060,s and 2070's
1080s are stupid expensive atm
They are great cards despite their age.
They out preform both the 2070ti and 5700XT.
I also saw they are OC friendly
The only thing that is in direct competition would be the 2080ti and a Titan.
Both of which cost way too damn much
I got the 5700 I have now because it was $280 total and I could clock it to be above 5700XT baseline output.
I never OC my 5700XT
$280 for a card that could output at a $450 card's level. Sold
Did you read the reviews..?
Yep. Coin toss if it could even turn on out of the box, another coin toss if it would brick when trying to OC it, and even one more coin toss if you tried to Flash XT bios onto the non XT card.

I build high horse power engines for fun. It's a coin toss if they are going to blowup when you turn the ignition key. Those thing cost about 7000-11000 USD.
Last part I bought for one a few weeks ago was $360 and I am modding it to work better.
Making a $280 mistake with a 5700(nonXT) which is know as a tinker toy in the GPU world is not bad actually.
@abstract kite What does your GPU run at normally for performance? I set up 5 OC profiles on MSI afterburner and have no idea if they are any good. They are all stable in games I play though. I used Kombuster that MSI offers but I have no idea what the scores I have compare to in the real world.
My Ryzen 5700(nonXT) per OC settings I use.
With 2070ti I assume u mean the 2070 Super? From the benchmarks I watched the 1080 is on par with the regular 2070, but both the 2070 Super aswell as the 5700 XT clearly outperform it.
I disagree from the benchmarks I seen the 1080 Super (ti) was out performing both on most occasions.
What I saw for results is that the 1080 is about the level of an un modded RX5700.
I'm hoping that when the new gen of GPUs come out that the 2080 will drop to $500 or less
hm, not sure of the performance difference between the 5700 and 5700xt, 1080 to 1080ti was around 35% or so iirc. I'd assume less between the amd cards
RX 5700 is software bottle necked to not be at 5700XT levels. The 5700XT has literally 4 more or so chips on it. Flashing the BIOS of a 5700XT onto an Non XT card makes it run at the same level as a non over clocked XT. However a 5700XT can handle more overclocking due to it actually having those extra chips.
Those extra chips and the unlocked BIOS seem to bump up the price of the 5700XT by $150 or more.
Yeah I'm aware of that stuff. I was just thinking about fps percentages
Well I posted mine. I was hoping a 5700XT owner would post theirs for me to compare to.
then maybe try to get Galerus to run msi kombustor if they apparently have a 5700xt
@abstract kite That voice in the video...
their 5700 only seems to get 42 FPs if I read the score chart correctly, so u'd not have uncap
and I'm assuming the video is to show that the 1080 ti outperforms the 2070 super
I just want to see how mine compares to a normal 5700XT
I was under the assumption that with "to get for 1080's," and "1080s are stupid expensive" you were refering to multiple gtx 1080, not 1080 ti
the 1080 ti should perform about where that video shows, ye
so that vid you linked says what I know already. 1080 is still great for 1080p gaming but not good for anything above that. 5700's and 2060/2070 are for 1440p and above res.
always depends on what framerate you're targeting....
if a card can do 1440p60fps, you'll likely still have to buy a similar card for 1080p144fps
My monitor's resolution is at 3840x2160. The 1080 would CHUG at what I have.
depending on title, yeah, probably
What I meant however is that you may also still need a higher tier GPU for lower resolutions if you want to get higher framerates
Unless you're an early adopter I'm assuming you've got a 60hz panel
Yeah it is a 60hz 55in LG tv. Until i figure out what monitor I want to buy I'm using that.
Even though it is a TV it still looks hella good on the games I play.
If you're fine with playing on it why get a monitor
I'm getting back into FPS games so I need the higher framerates. Granted I I'm use to my old laptops 12 FPS so keeping 60hz is like OMG wowe!
oh, so a high refresh 4k or stepping down to 1440p?
I'm looking at a 1440p monitor
haven't sat infront of a 4k monitor tbh, but 1440p already looks stupid sharp to me, so I doubt most ppl would want more
depends on screensize ofc :x
Text looks really good in 4k.
4k has bad screen lag if you use it for FPS shooters. the refresh rate makes the image "jump" when you use quick mouse movements
Resolution isn't dependent on refresh rate, though...
If I am gonna get a 4k Monitor I'm going Ultrawide.
Eww, why?
They're super expensive though.
4k ultrawide is 5040 x 2160 ?
I've built 2 PCs you think an extra $550 is much?
I would buy a 4k 144hz monitor but I would rather buy more car parts. So I'm going to go with a 1440p as good ones are $350 or less
I was at work when you were responding sorry, @median moon could you tell me a bit more about the gsync compatibility on that monitor?
yeah 1440p144 for 350 ish is a good choice rn
Trying to search online, can't find much.
How much desk space do you have, @abstract kite?
4096x2160 is ultra wide. That is the max my 55inch LG 4ktv supports for screen resolution.
mmh, I'd argue against calling that "ultra wide"... more like "widescreen+"
Eh
that seems to be only about 17.067 : 9 aspect ratio
Playing GTFO on my 55 in 4ktv from 3feet away makes it sure look ultra wide.
I also would need to move my PC again and get another Ethernet cable
1080p and 1440p "ultra wide"s are usually 21:9
cause the cables you got wouldn't reach?
Ah. I only have 16x9 as my max spread.
Oh wow 4:3 looks like ass on this TV. I never knew it had that option till just now.
ah, apparently there's a LG one with 5120x2160 for like 1100$
Running 4K at playable framerates isn't enough. Go for an even higher resolution (ultrawide) to get that feeling of "I can't wait for tech to catch up with my display" once again
Meh. Mine is 550 and I can't see what the reason is to spend an extra 550 on 20% more pixel count
Great deal on for the 3900x on amazon rn (Canadian) usual price being $649-699
Just heads up
msrp is 499 usd on those?
As sad as it might sound I would still boot up an old Windows Macintosh and play some origin trail if I could.
35$ a core aint bad I must say
420 blaze it!💭
There's many ways to do that nowadays without too much effort. If you're looking for the ancient classic, here's a link. (there are more versions ofc)
Yay Timmy can die of dysentery again!
I just found Scorched Earth a month or so ago and I still love that game.
I should really follow the PC Build Guide from The Verge.
I should have followed a guide, any guide, but nooooo I had to wing it. Now I have an AMD GPU. But I am able to clock it at 2.08Ghz when out of the box it was locked to 1.75Ghz
Well I heard putting your RAM Sticks in Slots 2 & 3 are great.
I also didn't know I needed a Thermal Paste Applicator.
The MSI board I have STRONGLY says to put ram into slots 2 and 4 or all of them.
Should I icing the CPU like I do a cake with the Thermal Paste?
I used a Q-tip and scraped it flat onto my CPU. the other recommended way is to just put a glob the size of a pea in the middle. when you put the heatsink on make sure to rotate it a little to evenly spread the paste over the CPU.
Master have you not seen the video?
I watched Gamer's Nexus vid about it for laughs.
Heh
is that what you are asking?
True gamers use superglue. Wright or wrong you are stuck with your application. So get it right the first time.
Lmao
If all else fails use JB Weld. That will keep your cooler in place. Permanently. Just ignore the smell of smoke.
Weld it shut like China is doing to its citizens doors.
KEK
Look for 400-500$ 1080 ti or find a deal on 2070 Super

Muppy PayOwO
Right now I'd be glad to just not have a literal brick shipped to me when I order a GPU.
Makes a nice paperweight though.
GalerUwUs
Well see if you have a Microcenter nearby.
It sucks that microcenter isn’t more common
There’s one near but that’s like a few states away
I will not buy parts from Bestbuy
From Connecticut to near the other side of LIS
Master... If I May recommend go with Nvidia's Brand of the 2070...
Beats 2-day/week shipping
NVIDIA reference is always the same price
Almost
Never seen it go above 500$ for 2070S
So what does that mean Gygabyte, ASUS, MSI? Those are all "Nvidia brands"
No
If they were more common wouldn't they be a macrocenter?
They are different manufactures for making motherboards, GPUs, a fair amount
In all seriousness, I've never heard of them. We have tons of best buys & Fry's around.
Fry's is decent. I also don't enjoy going to Best Buy.
They make more than one of the same GPUs, each giving a different thing for it. One can be for better aircool, other can be for better performance but who’s laughing about it anyways
One brand will suck at a pc part, the other won’t
Sort of how it is it seems to me
Yes all the GPUs are Designed to have Nvidias specifications however I would not get the other brands such as MSI, ASUS, Gygybte... ECT..
Gigabyte is cool
I'd get the one based of off Nvidia themselves imo
Yeah they’re very lovely looking
Don’t get the blowers though
They suck, obviously
Kinky
As compared to a sucker?
Do those blow instead?
For GPU's I've also leaned towards EVGA & Giga too usually.
They allow huge overclocking I guess?
I know some limit that shit, it sucks so bad
Unless you don’t overclock them, then you’re fine I guess
Yeah.... about that....(stares at his overclocked GPU)
I think it’s MSI that does it
You’re totally fine going with EVGA/Gigabyte. Good overclocking
Isn't overclocking also based off of you MOBO too. Like if it can handle it.
Well I do have an EVGA power supply so it may work better with a EVGA GPU?
Oh right make sure you have enough Watts
Of course
I'm just surprised Nvidia GPUs even work on AMD CPU Mobos.
I prefer 250-300W more than what is needed
Overclocking makes the GPU a Electricity Guzzler.
If it consumes 300W, I’d pick a 600W or higher
750W should be more than sufficient.
Yeah
Meh I went with 1000watt evga modular PSU. I so far have always used 1000watt PSUs even when I build my last PC 10 years ago.
Dang
yeah that build only cost me $800 at the time
Ive never seen the reason to go past 750W
This one so far $2200 USD
I mean, I heard there was a performance boost kind of thing for getting 1000W, even if it is unneeded?
Has to be unrealistic though
I heard something like that from Linus iirc
Yeah me too
The 1000watt PSU keeps the long-term draw on the unit low so the PSU last longer. also it handles load spikes quite well
But the deadass just calls for the one guy when it comes to technical software problems lmao
Ah
So that’s the only bonus, which seems really a good nice-to-have
If you have a 650watt load spike on a 750watt PSU it may not be able to handle it.
You may not be able to handle it.
What if it had like gold 80+ certification though?
Cause I doubt it’s really too necessary to have 1000W unless you don’t want to replace PSU, you want to have years from a single one
That has nothing to do with power spikes. It is a Economical rating on the unit to show that what you get is close to the same amount of power in the system as you get out of the wall plug.
I'm looking into PSU's that are modular too. Between an EVGA & a Seasonic. I've always sat at 750 for my PSU as well. Currently have the same as Galerus I believe. The CX750.
I didn't know that about the 1000W. Makes sense though. I've had mine for almost 7 years now.
Yeah
I honestly doubt an upgrade is really needed from 750W unless you overclock, which takes more than what psu could handle depending how high the OC is
I don't get where you would put a 1000w PSU though isn't it like a huge strip?
The silver, gold, platinum ratings mean that 90%,95% and almost 100% of all power from the wall is transferred into usable energy inside your computer.
Nah my EVGA 1000Watt Modular is the same size as their 650watt
How much is it?
The G5, hm
I heard of that, how is it like?
Not really sure what the difference are from G3
I just got the evga modular psu 750w i like it
G2 was better
G5 is a higher number than G3 is all I know. So far All I could tell is that the internals were changed some between the two.
G1 was the OG
G1 used IDE cables...and was not modular
I remember hearing the G3 had problems with heat protection or something like that? Spontaneously combusting. Along with the Focus line of Seasonic I wanna say, a few of those had issues. During my research on which to get.

Mine could be a G2 But I remember seeing G3
200 bucks best buy 😀 4 tb total now. Gamez getting massive.
No
Actually I take that back I rarely do anyways
No need
My 1TB is nearly fucking full help lol
I’m getting a 2TB for myself. Already expensive past 2TB lol
I have a M.2 for my OS and games I like to play. 4tb 7400rpm and 2tb HDD for everything else.
7400RPM? Hm
My old HDD was 5400
A 2 TB barracuda HDD was like $40
yeah I have that for my 2 TB drive, but that drive is 5400rpm the Iron wolf 4tb is 7400 rpm.
Everything electronic is skyrocketing atm
Haha
Right now I see 10000rpm HDDs slowly creping onto the market.
At least the GPUs are now considerably a nicer price to performance
Tarrifs placed in China and now global shipping is slowing down due to the Coronavirus.
Yeah I hate that :(
HDD are way slower in data transfer but are better for use in industrial sectors and for heavy usage as they last longer under high stress. The SSD is faster but burns out FAST if used heavily. But for home PCs they last about as long as a normal HDD does.
Yeah it’s not really too bad
HDD is cheap as hell
Most of the parts I have say made in Malaysia not china.
And any broke guy would loooove to pay for a big drive on a small price
uhh, what? @lament fiber
It was my impression it was the other way around
with SSDs lasting longer due to the lack of moving parts
and the fact that HDDs have a much shorter expected lifespan
And if you’re Linus, HDDs don’t fare well
AMD CPU on the chip says made in Malaysia, and USA. The ram says Korea, The Mobo says Japan.
Oh SSD vs HDD
Nope SSD have a terminal finite number of write cycles. HDD slowly get bad sectors.
Or some shit
HDD failures are a result of physical damage from use
SSDs outlast them with the incredibly high number of write cycles
Also the bearing wear out in a HDD causing the reader arms to scrape the platters.
SSDs also will eventually have way higher amounts of read/writes as well
SSDs are trash
So far SSDs last just as long as HDDs do
Unless you are using them in heavy load applications. like servers and video edditing
then SSDs die before the HDD
Yeah pretty much
SSHD is basically the best and worst of both worlds.
SSDs will always beat HDD in normal uses
SSHD is crap for gamers
Unless you don’t mind having games on the HDD part
HDD is great for cheaper storage space.
It’s more better just having SSDs for me because load time
Well, not everybody is rich (or has disposable income).
Also if you have a HDD you can have the drive taken apart and the individual platters can be ran in a machine to recover data. SSD deaths mean it's GONE.
Or is it...? 🤔
I have nothing important on SSD
Except game saves.
If you can pull data off a dead SSD start doing it for money. you would be rich.
The other games have like their own cloud saving I think?
SSD data recovery is probably possible, but super difficult and incredibly expensive.
LUL
I wanna get a case for mine and trick people into thinking it's a big USB drive.
MinyShark! Oh what fun we had together.
I’m kind of thonk on what SSD to get, now you say it
970 plus for boot
^
I have one but I haven't even used it yet. 😆
sets you back like $200 but the speed and reliability is unmatched
An 860 EVO 2TB, or a Western Digital blue 2TB SSD
@eternal cairn i will trade you three cookies, a hug and a yield sign for it
@fleet canopy WD blue
860s are bad suck
What kind of cookies?
Kek alr
I also read WD black is like for gaming lmao
Eww. Hard no.
wtf
Me want
are you even human
Gimme gimme gimme gimme
holy fuck
I have a WD black M.2 1Tb because it was $30 cheaper than a Samsung
White chips... on double chocolate cookies? 🤢
that's like the only way to do it???
subway does that and it's worked for decades
Tastyyy
you also don't enjoy having any positive experiences in life apparently
homeboy really turned down double chocolate... smh
The only positive experience I can get from cookies are double chocolate cookies with dark chocolate chips. 😋
I mean that’s cool and all
cocoa butter doe . . .
White chips... just... no.
But what about double chocolate cookie with butterscotch chips?
Yes.
:)))
what about a SSD cookie
Butterscotch chip pancakes
What kind of SSD?
SATA chocolate chip
OMG @fleet canopy! IHOP's are the best!
If you do get a M.2 SSD make sure you get one with a heatsink or have a Mobo that comes with SSD heatsinks because if they are near your GPU they can melt.
I don’t go to ihop
or just get a better gpu that doesn't run at 100 degrees
Hmm... considering I haven't tried SATA chocolate chip, I'll have to do a taste test with M.2 chocolate chip.
My GPU hasn’t even cracked past 60
assuming that they run for cheaper than 3070s
Nah
they should lol
They’ll keep the price
leaks are saying 3070 > 2080ti
The PCIE x16 slot meant for the GPU on my motherboard was placed so stupidly that my GPU would cover the motherboard fan.
Leaks are a fucking lie lol
I really like the Jet Airplane of the 5700XT
He was heavily speculated based on polls.
I can about guarantee that the 2080 prices will go up not down so they can sell their 3000 series cards.
????
But 50% more performance and 50% price decrease is a fucking joke
That one Disney character was also heavily speculated but never got in.
sora was impossible from the start
1080 Ti skyrocketed the fuck in prices when production stopped
They’ll stop 2080 Ti production as well
and is now $400 for a good one used
Besides, if Sora got in, Disney might try to buy Smash off of Nintendo.
not happening, imagine the fan outrage lol
They need to buff Beyoneta for Smash Bros.
Goofy for Smash.
@abstract kite My 5700non XT has a nice spool up wine to it when I load it.
Bayonetta needs no buff.
my PC doesn't make sound because everything is optimised to be quiet >:c
@abstract kite GUH HUH
Mii Gunner is literally E-tier but I'm in Elite Smash with it.
STOCK MARKET CRASH OF THE 1930S GUH HUH
Tiers mean nothing.
hEoK* @abstract kite
Tiers. Mean. Nothing.
I honestly don't mind my fans being loud if it gets the job done who cares?
They will nerf Bayonetta.(her sexines and boobs that is)
Not before the next fighter pass.
Even when they got nerfed to hell, like Warden or Jager on R6S, people still main them
I just use a headset/mic so the GPU noise is kind of moot.
They need to being the prisoners from GTFO into Smash.
My fans sound quiet, but sort of like some kind of ominous windy sound effect.
My fans can be heard, but that’s totally fine with me lol
Having hearing disability and headphones is a major bonus :))))
Mine sort of remind of the wind effects in Evolve.
I could have quiet fans during gameplay but then my gpu would run at 92c, or loud fans and a gpu at a more reasonable 73c.
Does every RPM include a Micro-transaction @eternal cairn?
😠

Mine ain’t loud enough for me to hear without music or game audio, and playing games, it goes 50-60 Celsius
Evolve was a great concept.
GTAE
It just got poor reception.
It was poorly executed
🤺 Touché!
Loads usually are 50-70% more likely due to 900p on the highest possible graphics settings lol
Anthem was a great concept and is poorly executed.
Also, balancing was sort of an issue.
Anthem was just poor management.
And heavy procrastination.
And both of those were issues with Destiny1/2
Heard they finally took down their Christmas decorations.
And constant rollbacks.
What are they Walmart?
Destiny 2 makes Destiny 1 look like a masterpiece.
Haha
They made Christmas a longer time
What people love for events in games, so they can get the sweet limited time shit
At least Anthem knew when to give up. Destiny 2 needs to learn how to do that.
I wish i could have been home during weekdays for R6s limited time
I loved the map and wanted more of it with free access to operators
You know I have the season pass for D2. Still have not played it and most likely won't.
Tbf Budgie did just get away from Activision
And they have already shown how bad they are without them.
The eververse will be glad to upgrade your computer for a nominal fee.
But most of the OG staff were already gone long before D2 launched, and it was still shit then just like it is now.
Still think Bungie can make a better Halo game than 343
Nope.
I liked ODST
343 actually consisted of former Bungie employees who wanted to continue working on the Halo franchise when Bungie decided to sign up with Activi$ion.
Halo 1 - reach/wars was great. 4-5 suck ass and I'm waiting for 343 to make it a three piece
Well Craptivi$ion is being regulated in Europe now and soon to be USA.
Halo 4 was bad... Halo 5 was rubbing it in our face...
Halo 5 is basically Cortana comes back from the dead with no explanation.
And Locke and Chief exchange blows for a little while.
No there was valid explanation.... In the books....
Basically, just a lot of misleading advertising.
I never finished playing Halo 4 I just got bored of it mid way through. #5... well I never picked up another Xbox with the camera fiasco and anti share crap they wanted to do to games.
I never bought Halo 5 because it wasn't worth $60 + microtransactions.
First XB1 release after 1 year I started transitioning into more PC games... Never looked back.
Destiny 1 was (and still is) good for me.
But now I am of the PC master race once again. Gabe demands his tribute.
"PC is master race"... says the same people who keep complaining about hackers in their Overwatch matches. LUL
Sheeet I had haxers in PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and even in good old Xbox.
Yeah, old gen was different.
Current gen is pretty much just DDoSers and lag-switchers.
Same with PC though.
I still see news about haxers in Xbox One
Yeah, those are all bullshit though.
There are no multiplayer hacks in current gen consoles.
Cough fallout 76 cough
Gross
@lament fiber The PC port doesn't count.
I has WD M.2 BLACK. Because blacker is better for some reason.
I almost got the 2tb black edition m.2. I have 2 tb black edition harddrive and it's pretty reliable.
@eternal cairn Is it really a port when it was simultaneously released?
Also, the only "hacks" for Xbox One are if you go into the developer mode, but Micro$oft added that for people who typically JTAG'd their 360s to do things that they otherwise couldn't with the dev mode.
Considering it's Bethesda, yes, @lament fiber.
I just went with the 1tb because it was less then half the price of the 2tb M.2 when I bought it.
I know what you mean. Mega good deals on them 1tb drives
Thanks, Coronavirus.
Coronavirus: The Game - Is it in you?
Someone died from coronavirus near my city.
4 others were stabbed to death.
'Tis not a good week so far.
What?
Don't forget gunshot wounds
Low key the monsters in gtfo started with coronavirus
What happens when it goes untreated
Malleted to death. Mallet gang wuz here!
Some times I want to go office space on electronics.
Ew mallet is ugly
Personally recommend sandisk drives. It's literally the same thing as the western digital equivalent. Just a different wrapper.
You can normally pickup sandisk drives for a little lower, worth it since it's the same thing. These are equivalent to the western digital blue drives for 250. 30/50 dollars cheaper depending on where you buy.
Hot box
case is corsair 760t. Best case ive ever owned. friggin love it.
@median moon If you're not in a SFF case, getting a blower card sounds like a bad idea. The only upside is more directed hot air, but it runs hotter and the only tiny fan it has needs to spin really fast.(a. k. a. loud)
Come now if it goes fast enough it will take off.
We have liftoff
Carpet glued to the wall lmfao
I didn't even really notice that
cut
That's kind of normal to me
with only 133w usage?
It fluctuates
i have my 5700xt now stable with the vbios update. I run ~1850 core clock and 1900mhz memory with -0.120mV (undervolted) with ~50°
but I don't have the reference card
the gpu has it's own bios 🙂
How would I even open up my vbios?
accessing directly through software and commandline. FLashing however is mostly easier and can be done while windows is running mostly. You have to check the site of your vendor and if he added newer vbios'
My vendor was best buy?
i meant the brand, msi, asus gigabyte etc
Ati Flash is the program I use.
Ah it's the the regular AMD 5700XT
the grey brick?
Mine is XFX Ultra(enter meme here)
My GPU manufacture introduced a new BIOS because their factory one cause the cooling fans to never turn on.
Yet GTFO maxed out never caused my gpu to over heat when I was playing it. I was thinking wow this is a quiet card!...Oh wait the fans arent running WTF.
My GPU acts like a heater for my room.
Google Atiflash if you want the program that can update your bios.
I'm afraid of bricking my GPU lol
i don't find any official vbios for the reference card, you have to do the research yourself.
Also what often helps with reducing some temperatures is to dissassemble the cooling from the gpu, remove the thermal paste and pads and add your own
You most likely will not brick anything if you get your updated bios from your GPU's manufacture website. And you get the BIOS that are for your card's Serial Number, Model Number and if all else fails it's Name. Look up your GPU's ID info in a program called GPU-Z my tech powerup.
modern cards always have dual bios today
often with one write-protected so users cannot brick the card
Sadly mine does not have dual bios. I even ripped the card back out to look for a switch.
Not even a reset jumper.
odd. and it's a 5700xt
Haha, nope it is a XFX DD Ultra 5700(nonXT) that I flashed XT bios onto.
dude the xfx 5700xt is trash i literally made my brother return his
the price range between xfx and gigabyte is like 10 bucks
That is kinda why I bout it. So I don't fell bad if I smoke it messing with it. Also Amazon had them on sale for $45 cheaper than an other 5700 on their site. Even Newegg was more expensive.
ooo how much did you pay?
280 after tax
thats not bad
When I was buying all the other brands wanted 340+
That should have been a Red Flag.
I was happy the box did not contain a literal brick.
Close though.
you really dodged that brick
The thing I looked at about the XFX was that despite how shitty they are they can be worked with. Also I had a 30 day window to hard brick it and return it as a dud through Amazon.
With how bad a reputation they have no one would argue that the one I got was not broken out of the box.
First place I went to was https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/xfx-rx5700-dd-ultra-to-xfx-rx5700xt-thicc-ii-ultra-bios-flashing.261717/ after I got it.
dude thats what I did then insta returned it
Well after a day of playing with MSI Afterburner I have my "budget" card clocked stable at.
Hm
I have a MSI mother board. Also I don't have Wattman installed.

100% fan speed?seems a bit aggressive . I would recommend to have at 75% max, especially for longevity
Haha. nope. It comes with the installer. I extracted the drivers out of the AMD "Driver" installer and software suit. I hate Adrenaline.
The Setting is 100 Manual fan curve. It is a % of what my personal fan settings are.
Is this a fine curve?
2080 core clock is more than my 5700xt does 😛
The 100% fan setting you see is this:
My GPU temp is 37c right now so the fans are quiet.
@abstract kite You want your fans to go to max speed by 90C. After that the GPU will drop data and framerate to save its self from melting. I think the phrase I hear it called is thermal throttling.
My Temp/Junction Temp has never reached 90C and if it did I would stop what I'm doing.
You are fine then. Mine runs about 74C in games. Normally 65-74C so far. It only goes over 80C when I benchmark it.
I swear I recall hearing the 5700 DD ultra has a dual bios switch, but maybe I'm thinking of the Thicc II
Hmm seems to be the case, this is an image of the switch apparently
Wow. That is hard see.
I suppose it could be, its next to power pins
Welp I was wrong. I do have dual Bios switch.
I could not see that thing because that sucker is TINY. I was looking for a full sized sliding switch not a 2mm wide tab hidden inside a hole.
@vapid crypt Thanks for that pic I would have never have found the dual bios switch otherwise.👍
Oh I was just curious cause I was sure the card had a switch, but since I don't have one I couldn't be certain
ok
Anyone here have experience cooling a R 590 gpu? It's the one problem with my brothers setup, it's just such a hot card
How effective would a copper water cooling block be? Or would getting a generic water block be the better move?
So I have an Rx 580, my temps are pretty typical. I've undervolted slightly by about 30mv, not really a big deal but its what I could do while keeping a peak clock of 1400mhz. My temps are pretty typical, though I do have good airflow
Two 140mm fans as intake using a full mesh face front panel
Don't usually see more than like 65C in most cases, but that's perfectly fine. A GPU isn't really HOT until its like around 85C I would say. This all depends on airflow pretty much, so start with airflow and experiment with undervolting
Awesome, thanks.
that was a lot of numbers
could the same be done for rtx 2060
For undervolting and changing fan curve? @modest thorn
yuh
Should work on all GPUs
I can't wait until the next Black Friday to get a G Sync monitor.
I restarted my PC, booted properly and my large screen TV booted in a super super low resolution.
1080p 240Hz is 250-300$ for me
Anyone know why it happened?
So it’d be either the frames or the resolution + frame
Maybe wrong plug in
Into mobo, not GPU?
Did you unplug the PC or TV at one point?
It did go into one of those static screens like... Uhh you can't get a station to come on so its just static.
It might have mixed up signals and as such, booted into whatever its primitive resolution was.
That's funny and scary.
It is.
I restarted it and it came back on properly.
Hm
I almost thought my 4k monitor stopped working when the display turned black, but I swapped it out with HDMI, which didn't do anything. I moved my mouse, and then I realized my PC turned off the display for some reason, so I switched back to DisplayPort and the resolution was set down to like 560p or something.
You know.
I guess it’s the high resolution maybe
You guys are great

If this channel didn't exist id be fucked
❤️
And thanks @void perch for making this channel xD
Hopefully the sale can get the monitor I wanna get to a reasonable price lol
You know
I wonder if updating my VBIOS will fix the issues im having.
After that DDU the current drivers and replace them with current.
I've heard a lot of people saying that updating their BIOS fixes a lot of things, but I've never had any issues that required doing that.
I mean, if there's nothing wrong with the BIOS, it's probably pointless to update it.
The problem is that updates can be a gamble.
They can either fix the issue, do nothing, or make it worse.
I'm also getting strange Green Screen Flickering, nothing that sticks just a brief like nanosecond flash.
Sounds like either your monitor or GPU is acting up.
Is GPU updated to latest?
No
^
Or maybe monitor has plug in with bad cable??
Are you sure? AMD has been known to "Fix" problems hehe.
LUL
And also recent drivers should fix game problem
So yeah I guess you could say it might fix
There was an NVidia update a few weeks ago.
If it doesn’t work, just revert
God touching this PC after the booting issue has got me sheepish to touch the dann thing xD
Funny I really wanted to go full red, but went green still
I guess I’ll just be with NVIDIA for like forever lol
There's still "big navi".
Saw an image of it
Saw an image of it
Basically last year, some guy made a GPU like 5 feet long
In all fairness, AMD hasn't really been supported for graphics all that well historically.
Their ryzen on the other hand though
That’s been like a major thing that’s dang good
Plus when are they gonna stop doing Ryzen?
Up until recent years AMD was the bargain bin for computer parts while Intel and Nvidia cornered the market.
I guess they still corner the market tbh
5GHz all core, best gaming performance CPU, paired with 2080 Ti and its a wild gaming machine
I’m still hoping AMD will make a CPU that’ll beat 9900K in gaming perf
Now I wish time was on my side, with no care in the damn world
But sleep exists
So, good night you two
And the lurkers
I finally made this.
Yes
Isn't that card Ancient?
Nah, still a good gaming card
Comparable to a 1060 ish, but the price is a real bargain nowadays
But aren't there still issues with it?
Like?
I don't know, I heard people get flickering or black screens while gaming.
I’ve heard nothing but good on cards in the 300-500 lineup
580 could be picked up for like 70$ maybe
There will be problems with any PC component you get.
Unless it’s still just like 1060, priced 130$ average
I mean there's less compatibility with AMD GPUs.
1060 was a pretty good card.
My dad was playing VR with it when people were telling us "That card doesn't support it!"
Now 1660 or a 1650 ( super? ) blows it away
Haha
It said VR ready on box
So it should be vr ready
Just not demanding kits though
You could play VR with a 980. Most marketed VR games have recommended specs of a GTX 1070.
Riddle
Wait calm down Muppy.
?
I have my GPU limit its self to 60 - 65 FPS.
Why is Space Engineers hitting 120 FPS
While CoH is hitting 20?

¯_(ツ)_/¯
Lisa Su, the CEO of AMD reaches all the way from China to smack my PC back into the Stone Age.
Haha
LUL
😆
Listen
Remove all parts from Asia
The Coronavirus is doomed to fail, wanna know why?
Why?
It hasn't gotten to Greenland.
Hm
Because humanity is incessant and technologically advanced enough to overcome it?
Oh.
What’s important about it if it doesn’t reach Greenland
But the cold could just like, block it off easy
?
Every Plague INC. player knows that if Greenland closes their ocean port before you get there from Russia you are fucked.
Hah
I would have been happier if the coronavirus was intended as bioweaponry.
God’s bioweapon
But it's just a result of the ignorance of health safety.
Lack of sleep comes to me and I must respond
Good night for real this time haha
Good night!
In reality though how are we to stop the CV?
Hm
Young people like you and me can face tank it and be fine.
Still kills young people
Its the elderly and people with compromised immune systems that need to worry.
Its less likely.
Gotta have like a good immunity system
Mine too haha
I never get sore throats, fevers, or the flu.
But then again, I did get the cold recently
If you do get infected it will be a mild cold, after that clears up you are now immune to that strand of virus.
But I was just walking around doing fuck knows at school, no one really gave a shit lol
This might be my misanthropy speaking, but I think the coronavirus is a good thing.
Just runny nose, maybe a bit of a headache
Watch this too
If you think about it
The Black Death more or less saved Europe as a whole.
LOL
I wish I majored in some form of biology so I could develop bioweapons.
The United States would be totally vulnerable since the president is trying to restrict funding for medical research. 🤣
Is he really?
No shit he is
Yep.
The news trying to lie bullshit at us
Omg
Just watch: as soon as he gets it, he'll put all funding towards fighting the virus.
People can’t be that damn stupid though
People can’t be that damn stupid though
But it’s America, famous for idiots so yeah
So I'm updating my drivers like installing them and my screens just went haywire.
Than came back
^
Black > Green > Black > Fans almost stopped working.
The screens do some weird doohickey bullshit.
Must be a really big update.
This is a major patch though
Haha yeah
That makes sense, then.
Shod I restart my PC?
So it should fix your games problem if you had some, should fix monitor problem, dunno what else
Its finished.
If you want to be safe, but not exactly needed
Nah, restart isn't necessary.
muppy = 🎊
no
Surprise?
Gonna restart anywho, just want to make sure, you know?
also,
Hot
scythe needs to remake this for am4/5
Too many fans.
helicopter motherboard
Tight as hell spacing
Is that better than 1 big heat sink?
No.
Bleh
Sleep is for the weak
Good night for actual this time haha
And I'm so very weak
who're you
im my dude
cool my dude
I need to buy a second monitor
soon
so I can watch something while Parrot updates
nc
Yesssss
shoebox build
woo debian rocks 😎
screenshot of an email server of a client (which I am allowed to send) working in a smaller business. the results of 540 days fighting spam. over 200k+ detected 😒
86% of all mails were spam
99.3% accuracy of detecting spam automatically
cpu usage = 0.08 and this on a VM with two cores
And I see fellow IT specialist using 32 core xeons 128GB ram etc for SMTP servers with no TLS support lol 😂
BRB. I'm gonna go rob Best Buy real quick.
Never mind. I'll have to postpone until night.
I've heard WD is more reliable.
But I guess I'd pick the one with the best warranty.
Are there any important differences between G-Sync and G-Sync Compatible monitors?
"The difference between a G-SYNC and G-SYNC Compatible monitor is simple. ... NVIDIA's testing for G-SYNC Compatible monitors also involves making sure the monitor can deliver a variable refresh rate range of at least 2.4:1 and whether these capabilities are enabled by default"
@abstract kite It seems you are having the exact same issues I did with my 5700. I mostly fixed mine. If you want help let me know.
Huh?
I was reading the comments I missed when I was offline and saw you are getting the green flicker and black flicker. If you haven't fixed it I can tell you how I was able to stop my card from doing that. If everything is all good then that's great too.
Time to part ways.
7
f
better than an i5
I have the i7 8700, thinking about maybe going AMD next year. But still happy with the performance of the current one ive got.
hilltard, how many cores does your computer have?
6
hexa-core i7 is really good
I liked my i7 and it was great for gaming, but it was only good for gaming.
that sounds backwards Nazo
thats why im considering the new AMD Threadripper 12 core. Only because I can do gaming, and so much more. (From what I read anyway)
Is it true that streaming is better with the 12 core?
intel cores are better for office work and applications. i7s have the ability to game and more. i5s not so much. however, AMD Ryzen series are better for gaming specifically because of the ability to overclock them without harm
I haven't tried streaming with it yet, but it's better than NVENC when it comes to recording. It takes a lot of the weight off and only uses around 20-30% CPU usage maximum when recording 1080p60.
But it might be because I have the highest preset.
Nice. I stream here and there but my pc doesnt do the best.
Yeah, I've seen videos on how software encoding works way better than NVENC.
And having a CPU with more cores and threads works wonders.
Ive got this build:
ASUS ROG Z390H MOBO
INTEL I7 8700 CPU
AMD RX VEGA 56 GRAPHICS
HYPERX 2666Mhz DDR4 (2x 8GB)
(Dont remember the other hardware offhand)
Nice. I don't know much about AMD graphics, though.
Me either xD. But I run dang near everything on ultra
Oh, nice.
Honestly, I only bought the AMD card because it was wayy cheaper than the 2070 and 2080ti
but it works amazing
I'm tempted to do it because of potential price margins, but there must be a catch...
I love it, the software that controls the AMD is a lot more user friendly than NVIDIA in my opinion.
I had an old laptop that ran a NVIDIA 970m in it, still ran a lot of things on ultra but the software for NVIDIA was just lacking.
Ever since jumping to this and using AMD i am impressed
Well, my GPU is a GTX 1070 that came with my prebuilt.
6700, hm
I don't feel like upgrading to anything anytime soon.
You are upgrading CPU, yeah?
Me?
