And weird
it's fine
Nah that's no where near high
I’m clueless on what’s a good temp tbh lol
Did you say it was a Red Devil card?
yes
Yeah that's a good cooler
Can burn in fire
95 degrees under load
swapped that shit right out as soon as I got new thermal paste
even with the precision boost thingy turned off the chip would run hella hot
Its like the auto settings sets it to 1.4v
I think I may have seen the voltage going from the regular 1.1 to uh
1.3
for whatever stupid reason
but with a liquid cooler temps aren't a problem with the cpu for now
Its the worst stock cooler they have to offer though, the wraith stealth
Cool
it's like fucking goop
Uh yeah I heard it likes to cure and stick to the IHS
Why you get people pulling their chips out sometimes
yeah it sticks real bad
even with all the screws out the thing wouldn't budge so I was trying to figure out if I didn't screw them out enough or what
I got a tower cooler with my 2600, still have the stock cooler sitting in the box
and then I realized I gotta twist it off
because the goopy paste just stuck to the cpu
it was like sticky before application too
Horrible
Yes
Probably not
It’s also very recommended to use mayonnaise on the CPU socket for extreme cooling
inject the thermal paste directly into your bloodstream
nah man you gotta use the minty cool toothpaste
I heard somebody used
Mayonnaise
Gross
but yeah
Actually the Mayo wouldn't be much better
once that rm750x arrives
Haha
Yeah you definitely needed a better PSU
Hearing 780, it’s too old to run newer parts now, even if it met below max wattage
rip my old parts
the only part I'm still using that's from the old set is now uh
the case
I still have the old ssd and hdd but I'm not putting anything on them
and my samsung m2 970 evo was cheaper and has more data than my 256gb samsung 840 pro
so
If the case is equally as old, it must be a good one
yup
fractal design
solid thing
it's moved across half of the US with me
I don't think they sell this model anymore though
Their Meshify C has been quite the popular case for a bit now
good looking microwave
Microwave with toaster oven technology
Should use a toaster oven as case
Yo can someone help me out with something ?
Hard to say until you tell us what it is
considering buying this. It's 24 dollars, and mechanical.
isn't half of the point for mechanical KB's the durability. Surely it can't be sturdy when only 24 bucks?
Half of the point is that it's more consistent
I got a keyboard within that price point, think I got it for 29. Its sturdy as fuck tbh, been using it for two years
Its also about the switches. Brown, blue, and etc. Take a look at how much pressure you want to apply to press the key down. Also me personally I would't do well without a number pad but to each their own. This might give you a better idea of what makes a good cheap keyboard: https://www.keyboardco.com/blog/index.php/2012/12/an-introduction-to-cherry-mx-mechanical-switches/
that's just a cherry switch guide, no?
if i'm allowed to add my sauce
you should check which switches it has, it's probably not cherrys at this price, but kailh or so
look up what type of switch it is, linear, with a bump and/or clicky, whether it does have n-key rollover etc.
other than that it's just about build quality. (keycaps and case)
Also, the keyboard in the picture seems identical to the "KBParadise V80 Vintage TKL"
its product page on mechanicalkeyboardscom has the exact same image that is
on there it's 99$ with choice of various switches and manufacturers. So if you can verify you're looking at a genuine product and not a rip off, i'd assume it should be very good.
that's just keycaps, no?
as far as I can tell these are just the retro keycaps you buy there
Well im dumb shite
If you're intersted in a cheap mechanical one, there's some "hcman mechanical keyboard" btw, that's like 25$
seems to have an aluminum plate, so decently strudy, but ~switches
and terrible leds
Stabilizers are also a factor
@abstract kite Just checked and those are just the keycaps yes
you're talking about spacebar, shift key stabilizers?
hm, depends how much you care about those keys ig :x
dont think it matters much when you for example only use the short left shift key, and they mousewheel for bunnyhopping
if they're more of a enthusiatic typer, obviously it matters more, ye :p
Enter key as well
just smack it with a fist
Left shift has stabilizers as well
depends on keyboard layout
i've got a ducky one 2 mini with swiss layout afaik
and it's left shift button is the size of a windows or ALT key
no stabilizers
terrible quality sorry
but yeah it's fair to assume they're aiming for US layout
This is what you get with bad stabilizers
😮 they ate your keycaps?
hm, i'd say mine are not much less loose, but they seem to rattle a lot less
up to Jog to decide how much that affects him tho I'd say 🙂
as for keyboards, usuall better = lots more expensive
huh, so that's same keyboard with new stabilizers or what am I looking at?
That a k95 with stock stabilizers
That's what you're going to get with lower end boards
Those are also not lubed
because I can't get into the board lol
That much play is abysmal
That's a lower end board, shit its about as wobbly as mine
hence why I'm either going to buy a ducky or build my own soon
Building my own will cost like $250 lmao
both my corsair ones (k60 and k65 iirc) very terribly loud
while both of my ducky ones are quieter and feel nicer
i've also heard ducky selects better... bins? or cherry switches
I felt like the aluminum case doesn't really benefit them either
it helps with rigidity
but amplifies noise
massive thump thump
not heard a plastic mechanical keyboard be as loud as those
you mean manually lube them yourself? not rly into that
You'd have to desolder them off of your ducky to be able to do that
that too ye
Since you have to get into the switch
I guess it's the full custom way for you then
True.
its costly though
hence why I'm buying a ducky until I can get in a better situation financially
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I build and modify almost eveything I own 🤣
I took my sennheisers apart to resolder all the connections when they had some issues
Got new pads and cord for them
@abstract kite 🤗
I find it easier to spend more on custom items and maintain them instead of purchasing prebuilt stuff only to need to change/get rid of them later on whenever they fail
@median moon 👋
modifying headphones can be very much worth it yeah
For sure
yes
I've had my Sennheisers for years and they just started giving me problems. Crack em open, resolder, replace the worn parts, and boom. New headset for a much cheaper price.
me, buying a Sennheiser HD 1
Razor hodphones
There's plenty other headsets that can give better quality than sennheisers. lol
HE1s good lord lmao
are those the 15k ones?
59k
i actually like my arctis pro from steelseries
For real
Hifiman HE4XX. Planarsszzzz
my arctis pro has served me well for a long time
something with five at least
I thought you were gonna say "real life"
yea, sadly its like $250 cuz of the dac
Pros have a dac?
only says 150 for me, can't see a dac tho
wot?
sounds like astro a50s then ig
my audio is set to 5% because of how loud the game is
then again, i have a acute sense of hearing also
what's it even do?
ₒₕ
That dac is a gimmick for what you get
And I don't even have a dac, so I wouldn't know
XMOS U30881C10 USB receiver chip
384kHz/32 bit PCM and native DSD256
compared to the gamedac's 96 kHz / 24-bit
For the same price
less actually
i feel like i should get a audio card if i really cared about the DAC tho
that one is usbc IN and then 3.5mm out, balanced 2.5mm out, optical out, yes?
before i bought this, i did try out other headsets
Pretty much
no bass = no go for me
You'll surely get bass with close backs
the asus rog headset looks good, however i dont like my ear touching the sound box
Eh. I can't get behind many "gaming" headsets.
do you get much difference from 24bit to 32bit or whatever you'd define the difference between the game dac and that one? I've got a fx-audio dac-x6 for example
and really though, micro center should really put a pc near the headset stands
The only one's I like are the cooler master MH752. Basically you get Takstar Pro 82s but with a twist.
to put it simply, it's a clearer tone
32bit has advantages in being able to produce better sound
Will everyone notice it?
not really.
unless ur an audiophile
well idk how much it matters compared to source material
say sounds in a game
or youtube video music
i mean, is ray tracing necessary as of now?
Depends
but ppl still spend 1k on it
name me 100 games that have ray tracing
They're buying into a beta pretty much
Youtube is limited by bitrate
Honestly
so a majority of what you're going to hear on the internet will have no difference with or without a dac
I dislike how the audio bitrate is capped
Not worth it at all, especially when the only graphics card worth using for the feature tbh is the 2080ti. And even then its only just barely fine
AMD might do ray tracing better if they are investing into ray trace
But knowing AMD's 5700/XT
Probably not
and unless the 2080TI is more than 20% increase in performance i dont think imma switch out my 1080TI
Eh it won't matter to me, it'll just be another feature that I never turn on
did u turn on ray tracing tho
I see, so probably not much of a difference to me.
And I really don't like how game devs are so hyped for raytracing rn... rather have them implement dx12 properly or even vulkan.
At this point, I'd just only stick to NVIDIA for GPUs
Uuuunlesssss I hear no problems on AMD's GPUs for the next few lineups
So I've built a PC with MPG X570 Gaming Edge Wifi, a Ryzen 3700x using the stock fan, GTX 1660 ARMOR, Corsair vengeance 2x8gb ddr4 RAM and I can start the pc but there's no connection to the USB ports or the display/HDMI ports
im really thinking of building another rig with AMD
Eh, the problems are blown out of proportion
well do you think performance improvements for raytracing are going to come on the software side mainly? maybe the next gen will have four times the rtx cores simply
The only ones hyped seem to be console manufacturers
other than that afaik the nvenc encoder on the 2000 series is much better than what amd currently has
Yeah, the ray tracing will be more optimized at one point
Oh yeah
Gotta get my drivers updated now
AMD's encoder is bad, and should be addressed. Not that I'm interested in using a gpu encoder anyway, but still
There's a new NVIDIA driver for those unknowning
@serene folio which usb ports and which display ports exactly?
front io or rear io, gpu ports or ... gpu ports cause ryzen no integrated graphics I just realized
Rear
Well I would hope the "Discreet graphics required" was clear
make sure the gpu is seated correctly then? does that board have some sort of post code display... ?
hm
any leds on the mobo?
maybe check the manual whether red is anything special
rear IO not working sounds pretty weird i must say
should definitely make sure that everything is plugged in and seated correctly for a start
otherwise maybe something broke
Do you have any alternate hardware you can troubleshoot with?
that "EDGE" text on the vrm upside down looks like "390", so i thought i was looking at the wrong board for a second lol
It has the same post LEDs as my MSI board, they're right above the 24 pin
and really none of the usbs work? the top ones appeart to be basic 2.0
probably mostly the same pcbs and only upgrade some features
Few things moved around, but like it has some of the same text
and it actually does have an hdmi port on the rear io lol
who's gonna put an APU in that for reel
They gotta include it or else people will complain... even if it'll only be one dude
according to the online manual there's just "ez debug led"
for cpu, dram, vga and boot
nothing about colors i think
Yeah those are the leds above the 24 pin, they're all red
so if the cpu one is lit, "indicates cpu is not detected or fail"
I hope he's not put everything together into the system before testing whether it works...
Yeah uh... I mean I test booted outside of the case when I built mine the first time. And ultimately it didn't matter cause I had blue screen problems from having the ram installed incorrectly
what kind of "incorrectly" are we talking about? not all the way in or wrong slots? :p
Wrong channels
If they weren't all the way in, it wouldn't post.
Or well not register one of the sticks rather
and that bluescreens? I was assuming it would like only register it as a single stick but be fine
I guess it depends on the manufacturer, it was an Asrock board. Once I moved the sticks over to the correct channels the blue screens stopped
hm, guess it really wanted to tell you to fix it :p
I realized all of this in hindsight, cause I ended up refunding the board and replacing it
...
Not detecting DRAM
define
you've tested it with some other ram?
or the dram led is red so u assume it's that
you've tried a single stick?
if it's not detecting either stick that's an unfortunate failurerate or the slots are broke
you're the HX850 guy right
ye
hm, sticks in slots 2 and 4 and it boots fine?
so it didnt like 1&3 variant? or had you put them in 1&2 or 3&4? for proper dualchannel you need to either use 1&3 or 2&4
and as el demonio just stated before, his pc apparently bluescreened from having them in 1&2 or so
okay :p well, luckily it was only such a minor detail and no parts defect
hf with ur new rig
Thanks fam
@serene folio Remind me what board you’re using?
Most ram configurations now are daisy chain
With 2-4 being the dual channel configuration
Some boards allow 1-3, but 2-4 is the most common.
"MPG X570 Gaming Edge Wifi"
and I'm pretty sure mine are in 1&3. Tho my board is whatever the no-daisy chain thingy is
i think
If its anything like my MSI board, then its likely 2 and 4
yes if your pcb is effectively the same as gluecacke's it's probably 2&4 for him aswell
z390 aorus elite is t topology tho afaik, which is probably why I can't get over 3600mhz :/
Oh yea Gigabyte loved that
My X570 Aorus Master was daisy chain though
I think theyre switching iirc
I need an opinion
Bad
I'll try, but I'm an idiot. So I hope you understand
Was going to buy this
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=5593
Locked into a theme with the second one
But
Pandas
This will still be a temporary keeb until I can save up enough to get a custom, but I need something soon since my K95 has stabilizer issues
and one’s cracked but somehow still working
you mean you prefer the panda's looks?
If its only temporary, then get the slightly smaller one. If you really like those panda caps, couldn't you just get them later?
and I'd say it's only 16$ more, so whatever
unless 65% to 60% is a big difference to you
afaik keycaps are usually more than 16$
@vapid crypt Yes and do. They’re exclusive to the ducky miya afaik. I can’t find them for sale anywhere else. I’m okay with either a 60% or 65% board.
Well then its simple then, get the panda one if you really like the way it looks
Those keycaps would probably be somewhere around $60 themselves tbh being dye-sup pbt
Gotta find some b a m b o o wallpapers before I make the leap if I do
that shouldn't be too hard i think
Hopefully not lol
The setup will change to green if it happens
I may just get the mecha mini because of cost though
Silent red switches add another $22
oh you want silent red
yeah that's quite a bit more expensive with the miya then ( for some reason?)
124 vs 157
Special Switches for Special Fingertips
Thankfully Tfue got a custom board instead of getting a Mecha Mini else I would have insane difficulty in getting one.
Was thinking about a One 2 mini for a while
but all them fortnite kids kept buying them up lol
it's a pretty good keyboard tho i must say
For sure!
Hm
📣
Thanks Dmitry. The unboxing alone got my mind back on the mecha mini again https://youtu.be/EDHu82WEcoI?t=14
Keyboard AMSR yes
Hm
Mhm
is a gtx 760 at 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz not good enough? bc i crashed the first time i started it
soo... 2070?
2070 good
kk thanks!
be warned though
you'll have to run games on lower settings than normal
2070 is good but 4K will still fuck it up on high settings
4K is damn hard to run
If possible, I'd recommend just finding a 1080p 144Hz or 1440p 144Hz
Best to get 1080p though, because the GTX 760 can run alr on it
what about a 2060? i think its time to upgrade anyhow...
The 2060 is allriiiighht
Can't you get a 2060 Super for the same price?
Wait nah
Only like 50$ more
Oh there's one for 20$ more
What's your currency?
AAaaAAAAAAAAA @abstract kite
i changed a few things .
@fleet canopy pls help too .
case, mobo
The GPU bei- oh yeah you getting next lineup
ye
A 3800X now? Missed the opportunity?
Oh that's not bad
$10 more than 3700x
I thought you wanted a 3900X though
i did, but in retrospect it's really overkill
the most demanding game i have is MW
Don't want the RTX thing on that?
and even my i5/1050 laptop runs that on low
it's a fucking awful COD imo
What about an EVGA card? Thought you liked them more
Case have front mesh?
Looks solid wall
Oh cool
I don't really like the green thing company too much
Doesn't look a good investment for anything they give
Okay mister I was gonna get a 9900KF but changed my mind after a week
Everyone changes their mind lol
I went from wanting a 2080 Ti to wanting a 5700XT and then finally settling on a 2070 Super
I have no brand loyalty, but I do like a good deal
I too, don't have brand loyalty, but I just don't have their trust I guess
Well I take that back
After all, I went Gigabyte 2070 Super from a 1060 Gigabyte
Lol
i would like a 3080Ti, that way i can squeeze maybe 20fps out of minecraft with ultra shaders
Like I got a cheap logitech mouse, cause from what I've read of it; it has a pretty high quality sensor and it was like 20 bucks
that was a joke >:(
Well
RTX was pretty fucking shit, lol
Oh yeah
2060 Super with 1440p
Can it do well?
I doubt
Uh fuck I got a mechanical keyboard for 29 bucks, no lighting or anything just a plainish black tenkeyless with cherry blue knockoffs. Really solid been using it for 2 years almost
pong on a TITAN RTX
You went
~17fps
For a 144hz one
monitor is future proofed
Bet the 3080 Ti can do 4K 120FPS
Its gonna be a used one
discount 2080Ti = 3070
if it'll run superhot vr i'm happy
I'm pretty sure anything can run Superhot VR if its a midrange card from the last 4 years
Like a 1060?
well
It was labeled that
gooder games
ok yeah i'm still pissed my laptop was advertised as VR ready
yet is rocking a 1050
haha
It's just laptop GPUs are shitter than the original
Kinda underwhelming cause what is that like a ~770 or something
1050 laptop good for CSGO I guess
Better than the laptop I was using, but that isn't saying much
500
No
Then get the larger one
Just a 860 Evo 1TB
Oh okay, well you can probably just get the smaller one then if you only want to have the boot on there and almost nothing else
Maybe some important programs that would benefit from the speed, really it depends on how much you're willing to spend you know
I can just get the program files to the bigger sized one
I don't mind paying extra for 500GB
Any M.2 2280 NVME to recommend?
For the money the Sabrent Rocket is really good
They have a gen 4 model too, but I doubt that would be necessary
That's not too bad a price tbh
Hmm they've been going up I think, the 500 is like 80 last I looked
Ye gold
Yeah and the gen 3 are blue
Gen 4 has higher read/write apparently
From review, no difference in speed
Also help me, I've been sort of wanting AIO
Well yeah how many people can actually tell the difference between a 15 second boot, and a 12 second boot without timing it
@median moon God no not that motherboard
Uh yeah I'm going by my SSD which is a NVME QVL
So its slower than samsung, or well TCL
No QVL is slower I think right, and TCL is faster
Unless I'm getting things mixed up
Only for a bit to notice I picked out the G.Skill Ripjaw without knowing it was G.Skill
The timings seem a bit too low though
🙂
Technically before Spinning disk drives were made, we were already on the right track
They were just cheaper 😦
Hm
They were using onboard chips with disk files
instead of physical media
and i mean who can fill up 3.75 MB of pure text that like my bachelors exit paper
Capstone Thesis whatever
@hard crag have you used CE any?
And I need win10
but i'd like to run it in VM so i can use linux for everything else while using win10 for games
i thought dual booting would be handy since i use both win and linux
but linux and win10 try to eat eachother even 6 partitions apart
I've done dual boot no problem
maybe just me then
ran fedora for years on a dual boot with win7
@abstract kite nah ive not used CE
@finite sentinel if you wanna test distros just download VMware and some ISOs for different distros. Try out which ones you think you will like best
CE will randomly eat 2tb of space like a hungry child out of nowhere sometimes
@hard crag My needs are specific, i stream so i need to be able to run the game off a windows shell, however best to do... and run everything else off linux
I'm big on performance
@hard crag thats what i meant -___-
@abstract kite Well... I dont exactly play with CE. Im not big on reverse engineering sadly.
Ryzen 3800x, 32gb 4400Mhz Ram, X570 chipset, RTX 2070, P1 Crucial NVMe and some HDDs
reverse engineering is my jam
I use it for Dark Souls and thats it lol
uunderstandable
@finite sentinel NANI?!
4400hz?
flexin the memory
lol
You could run the exact same setup
i got this memory for 130
i cant criticize i have 128gigs of ddr3
got a TLDR?
Hm
hi payo
@finite sentinel Theres time stamps on the setup
cause im not watching 40 mins of something im not interested in
Hello Crypt
you can skip the first 20mins
yea im trying to ask what your point in linking it is?
@fleet canopy goodmorning cutie
You wanted a distro and the setup for streaming and gaming right ?
oh you mean it's a guide to setting up linux+win10 gaming?
yup
start with that next time :p
sorry im autistic ❤️
There were no timestamps!!!
But yeah with your setup you can clone that one
check the comments
there is always timestamps
lol
sigh
Autistic brains are like... muscle cars that suddenly can't move if you put in passengers
<.<
"Wait you mean i gotta carry you? fk that..."
apparently, if you're running linux you can't play Destiny 2
not sure if that's including running win10 VM
Nah, if you install it into the VM then you can run it
Its just setting up VM Workstation that you need to do for that.
lmao you dont tbf
i also do best with text walkthroughs
Hmm... not sure if there is a text walkthrough for setting up Workstation
maybe, thanks for the input though
No problem. Have fun tho, which ever you choose
so watching the first bit "I'm sick and tired of windows update breaking my computer!"
yep, had that happen
that's why i had to rebuild -_-
Gonna use KDE
hello everyone, i have a quick question about the mouse since im new to pc gaming. whats a good mouse to start with for gaming?
pick a mouse that fits your needs
@finite sentinel KDE is a desktop environment that is used by the distro
don't worry about "high performance" BS... some people say low DPI some say high dpi, i say go with adjustable
I know @hard crag :3
Manjaro KDE
Ahh lol okay
Was gunna say cos you can customize it or swap it for another enviroment like GNOME or MATE
Thankfully I still have my old GTX 970, i can use that as primary and passthrough the 2070 to windows
ok my nerd motor is running :3
looks like i'mma be doing this once i figure out how the gpu passthrough works
it's relearning old stuff for the most part
the thing im curious about is how gpu passthrough works for displays
I mean virtualization and the stuff you can do with it is its own beast
well here's the thing
Sandboxing, Malware Analysis etc
oof
165mhz @1440p

Are Oh Gee Certified price
Im kinda jealous
I see. Filthy rich.
i didn't pay the ROG price :p
no im not rich
im thrifty AF
i'm on disability
i get 750 a month :p
It says 600$ sale, 700$ original
oof
Ah
Still. Filthy Rich.
Not bad method kek
750/mo is barely broke
750$ a month?
;^; I make 280/month.
Canada.
750/mo is HALF MY RENT
But 750$ a month?
May I show you my CoMpUtEr?
go for it
But 750$ a month?
750 a month yes, that's not eneough to live on unless you're thrifty AF
But that's cool if you don't mind it
Cute little Thing?! It's half my table long.
the pics make it look smaller then
Cute little table
mine is a full tower
But yeah
yours looks like a mid
That's fucking small lol
He be vibin'
I need 1,000$ just to finish off my build
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X
GPU: RX 580 Nitro+
I need a new Power Supply.
i only managed to afford my build because of back pay from Disability
they cut me off for 3 years so i was homeless
750 or 850W?
Cuz I hate my Ketchup and Mustard cables.
I have 600W in that shit.
my old PSU was a thermaltake toughpower 1200W but it's over 12 years old
But it goes 300W more
750W is more than enough.
Unless you have watercooling.
you can use an AIO at 750
Then go for the 850.
I prefer 300W more than what PCPP would say it takes up in wattage
Being broke is sad.
Simple gold or go for a plat?
the RM850x is great
There's also a G5, but that's like 140-150$
it's what i just got
and i got it for 100
one sec there's a sale
oof it's over
I plan on doing it all in 1 buy though
ah
Because I'm upgrading about the whole PC except GPU and maybe CPU cooler
show me the PCPP list
I have a DRP4
Should I just go for a 2018 version of the PSU I posted or no?
I heard Corsair had a pretty good PSU designer
Currently all I'm planning to get
you should get patriot viper steel or patriot viper 4 ram
Corsair is a good PSU yes
They hired Jon Gerow on
and they've been really good since then
for NVME i recommend the crucial P1
I'm keeping RAM for simple ready out of box optimization
solid speeds and solid price
Sabrent is another good alternative
oh btw the rm850x white is more than the black version
for some reason they tack on 20 bucks for a white finish
Nice
It has white cables too
you have an AM4 bracket then? good
@finite sentinel DRP4 has AM4 bracket
I think
It does
Lemme check lol
it dies
Can confirm since I have the same cooler
yea i have an older AIO that had no AM4 bracket
Meh fuck it
@dusty pumice 😅
I'll worry about that later, I can buy the brackets separately I guess
Looks good
shoulda pulled this trigger on christmas tho like i did
you're paying the same price i paid for the 3800x
=/
I do not are have m o n e y
yea i'm tapped out for... ever
I'm just having this list so I improved it over time
I'll get a job soon enough this year maybe
Hot
and if you wanna ask why i have two different hard drives, one is older, one is newer...
Eh
Essentially the same HDD just one is the original design
People have like 2-4 drives nowadays
yea
I mean i've always had multiple drives
i used to run RAID but... these days it's not practical
Only difference in the Black and white PSU price is 5$
Cool
I'll get the black anyways. Fits the color scheme more
Almost no fucking RGB haha
My GPU just have the "GIGABYTE" RGB rainbow effect though
this is before NAS was a thing :p
At this point, I'm just gonna soon enough pick up a 3080 that has no RGB on it haha
ah
I'd make a NAS now if i could afford it
I mean RAID is still useful now
Honestly I need to get myself some cloud storage setup for my data dumps
Takes up too much space
I'm really just sick of HDDs crashing :p
lmao
I lost a hard drive of data i'd had since highschool
i never backed it up :p
cause it was highschool stuff
we're talking a 20 year old drive
Good enough reason
and i could salvage it if i had a clean room
Honestly if I could setup a db for Emails and hashes I'd just do that and throw it up on the cloud
i dunno, many websites won't allow you to use personal email servers
pisses me off
Did you mention anything about RAM?
I said your RAM choice coulda been better
Oh I mean I just need a cloud based Database to access the info
It was 2x16, never saw it
patriot viper 4 might be a better pick
I collect data breaches for osint work
but there too much data
a lot of repeated data too
so a Database setup would more efficient
Wonder why 2x16GB, but eh
For standard gaming just use 2x8
32 is for heavy load work
No?
yea i stream so i need 32
I do have 24GB though for no reason
how much ram do you want muppy?
You dont need 32 for streaming tho ???
Heavy stream I guess?
I stream and host servers :p
Yeah
Could just get a separate PC that'll do the servers tbh
@hard crag I still use over 16GB when not hosting server when i play minecraft
How...
modpacks
kek
some modpacks take up to 10GB RAM -_-
WHAT ARE YOU MODDING ?>#
No I've modded the shit out of skyrim
when you have 400+ mods...
And I've never hit even 12GB of RAM
Plus I'm alright with the 130$ price tag
If you use over 10GB of RAM modding Minecraft are you even playing minecraft anymore?
