just redirect the heat to your mixtape
But that's HOT FIRE
M8.
🔥
Just stand Intel’s CEO next to the CPU.
oh yeah
God DAMN
That fire under his ass just keeps getting hotter.
Lmao.
jeff bezos ?
Jensen "It just works" Huang
Make it a fucking nuclear reactor
have him build an amazon warehouse next to the cpu
Hey, you.
Sixteen times the detail
You're finally awake.
IT jUsT WoRkS! -Todd
Everything just works.
Why is my discord audio really quiet? I have all audio settings up at the max and I can barely hear them saying anything
Have you increased the uhh
User volume?
Or are you talking about
Yeah I'm not sure
You do mean on PC, yeah?
VoiceMeeter banana is good, it can make a headset mic sound better
I use regular voicemeeter because meh lol
I could try exploring the other programs though, might be worth a try if it is pretty good
I don't use voicemeeter for the mic though, it just acts as a fucking joke for some reason
Think I should switch out the stock DRP4 fans with a custom? Like 2 noctua fans?
Alr, time to figure out what dimension the fans should beeee
One of it being a 120mm, and another a 135mm
Well then
Any choices on SSD?
Am thinking of getting a pretty good M.2
Gonna use one for boot, and one for general
there's a really nice Kingston drive i'm using in my build for boot
250gb, NVME, only around $40
I already have a 1TB SSD, but I might get myself another 1TB since I did hit near 1TB about a few times
Currently like 98.5GB lol
Well they're getting cheaper at least
thankfully
Lol I was gonna ask about the PCIe SSDs until I noticed the price
They're like the first SSDs all over again
Fucking expensive as hell
So I'm gonna assume M.2 2280 is the best I can get
most likely
I've seen many recommend the intel 660p series
LoL iNtEl BaD!!1!1!11 /s
Hah
i'm not too inclined towards SSDs due to their price, i'm already being stretched thin with my CPU/GPU
thusly, barracuda compute is a godsend
You can pick up a regular SSD of 1TB for like
2TB for $50 is insane
250 if you're going for boot
for storage, i'd just get a 1TB. sounds like you need it
Well, I could try figuring out how to transfer the program files to another drive again
🤷♂️
Seems Samsung 970 Evo Pro is the fastest I could get...?
yeah, the samsung SSDs are louisiana fast
Indeed
Trying to find the fastest one atm lol
The plus version of the 970 Evo M.2 is like 70$ cheaper than the non pro kek
Guess it's still having a bit of a sale
Usually average same price on both though
vantablack friday
🌛
Hm
hm
Hm
hm
Hm
hm
Got any recommendations for cases?
100$ or lower, going with ATX
NZXT is always safe, nice built in case fans, room, good cable management, USBs in the front
also rocks the white and black super well
Seems to have some bit of airflow problems from the reviews, but eh
shouldn't be too much of an issue as long as you run good internal cooling
I have a DRP4, but gonna switch out the cooler fans for noctuas, then find some regular black noctuas or just get regular tan/brown lol
nice
Don't have anything of use to upgrade with, so I'm just getting together another part list so I can finish it off with a better PC
understandable
Funny how having 36Hz more higher than a 1080p 144hz will rise that price to 350$
Fucking ridiculous
⚠️
I saw it on sale for 250$ recently, so I'm gonna wait for one I guess lol
Mayo uhh...
The DRP4 middle fan is 130mm
Its an oddball size
idk if you’ll find a replacement easily
I saw it as 135mm on a review though kek
Maybe its that
The middle fan can just be switched out with a 120mm,
Fair
The holdy rods works for 120/135mm I believe
I don't know what to call them lmao
I’m having to switch out my front fans for different ones.
Corsair ML120 Pros at 3000rpm sounds like a jet boutta take flight
Haha
I got the new system built
Working on thermals and then I’ll need to reinstall windows
More like
saturn V noises
Haha yes
In AIDA64 they go vmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMSSSSSKKKKKKRRRRREEEEEEEEEE
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
honestly hoping the D15 isn't like a jet engine
Noctua fans are pretty quiet
Quieter than Be quiets
i9 security shit
Mine are like, 32dba or some shit
A good, budget X570 would be the Asus TUF X570
And I had a Gigabyte picked
Best $200 board
yes
VRMs are good and everything
Get the wifi
did i change anything here from last time i put my build up
damn i need more sleep
Let's see
No
5.5g thermal paste is still fucking huge too
1g is all you need
can pick those up for like 4$ lol
^
Isn't it funny how it's kind of the norm to get wattage of PSU to be x50W?
Like it's kind of rare to find anyone get 800W instead 750W or 850W
The extra 50 helps tho
Indeed
That monitor for 160$ on amazon though, neat price for its specs
Mayo
Ye?
Can you humor me for a sec
Tell me what you’re looking for
I’ll make a pert list
Let's see, aside from the CPU cooler and the GPU,
...in retrospect, i probably don't need 32gb of ram
32Gb vs 16Gb is negligible in speeds
yeah
64gb vs 16gb is where it shows
You can get 32GB if it's the same as a 16GB though, best on sales
it's not
So if you ever intend on upgrading, you’re locked in at 32
i save like $40 on 16gb stix
I saw 2x8 for 100$
either that or i can just go balls to the wall and fully invest for 64GB
im stuck at DDR4-2666 because intel bad
I need a case that's black, can support ATX, X570 ATX board, 2x8GB with 3200/3600MHz, maybe a good M.2-2280 SSD with 250GB, PSU that has 300W more than what the total amount of wattage is found in PCPP
Glass,
I would buy a 2x16 set to you up to potentially later upgrade to 64GB. I did that myself and I can guarantee it’ll be worth it
okelydoke
@fleet canopy On it chief
^
I mean, you could mix your RAM sticks a bit if you'd like, kek
uhh come to think of it i should probably run something past a z390
Yeah
Is Fractal something you’d consider?
Fractal is uhh
Alright
Not the sort of weird designs though
Well
Fractal looks alright, can accept
and, well, getting to skip the silicon lottery
Would just go for a 3900X at this point imo
is great
yeah i'd pick up a 3900X but i'm deadset on the gaming performance intel provides
But you want big game performance, 600FPS on Crysis
6000fps or bust
You should get 360Hz monitor-
uHh yeah actually i should
@fleet canopy What all will you be doing. It’s a 3600 vs 3700X rn
yeah like
Ok
with my i15-13500KSLET cpu
Don't you mean
ryzen4000.exe
The i69-696969696969696969K
Funny!
69KHz*
Ah yes

But still fucking piece of trash
Oh boy
My floor is coming to ruins
Well not really
Isn't the 3990X having a 128 core 256 thread?
@abstract kite how goes fren 👁️
It has become 3AM
nice
it saturday
This is me every Friday-Saturday
Oh it is having 64C
I thought I heard 128C
Maybe that's the 2990X
Okay here we go
Damn what had 128 cores
I mean
What do you need 64 cores for?
What would come as a bonus to having 2x more cores?
:)
The Noctua fans are because stock NZXT fans aren’t PWM
3700X*
Ryzen eats ram for breakfast
for the RAM
3733mhz is the sweet spot
More is better for AMD
3600mhz is the closest to it
ig you right
I have 3x8 2400MHz lol
Its actually higher, but 3600mhz is the best easily attainable speeds for it supposedly
Glass why do you stick with Intel if they frustrated you so much?
He wants the game perf
NEED FPS
Hah
i'm kinda a freak when it comes to that lol
Damn haha
Well if you want that then go for it
my laptop barely running MW on low graphics at like 30fps genuinely pissed me off
But don't you want the sexy uhhh
"BRUUHHH RUN FASTER"
Fuck idk
Intel can support faster than 2666mhz tho
what it can
I mean yeah, more is an option
But you just need like 2666MHz
DDR4 at 2666 megahertz, very fast RAM
lol
kek
uhhhh... yeah you right
If you’re using 2666mhz then you can hit over 3000mhz easily
here's hoping the KS doesn't fry my Z390-A Pro
3133mhz iirc
I mean, should I go for 3733MHz...?
i mean, do you like having a wallet
The CAS is 18 for the 3600MHz and CAS17 for the 3733MHz of same RAM lmao
Wait was that Cas 18
Yep
tee hee
16-19-19-39
._.
Tighter timings
sexsy 16
Dunno what the rest of the other timings are besides the CAS latency tbh
lol
somehow the DDR4-3000 equivalent of my current RAM was like
only $3 more
G.Skill Aegis rocks
I honestly dunno why people hate Gigabyte GPUs so much, even though they serve me pretty well tbh
people hate Gigabyte GPUs??
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I mean, there's customer service
Idk
i thought it was only their mobos
People hate googabutt
googabutt and holdy arms
I just hear hate of Gigabyte from people
Holy rods
Holding the holy fans since 0000
Only RGB is the brand title on the GPU but that's not too bad
I can talk about Gigabyte having bad motherboards because
I owned one
love it on the peripherals but good fuck get it away from my case
I like a little RGB tbh
My new build lost the rainbow unicorn vomit
I prefer white LED keyboards imo, much better than distracting rainbow effect RGB crap that fucks my eyes while playing
i have zero RGB in my build
I actually like white light in cases
but it just shows every little dust particle
I’m going for purple accents this time around
Somewhat dim white light seems pretty lovely tbh
it showcases all the parts very nicely
Also
PC RGB does not support PrismSync
which would be very annoying
peripherals: nice lovely blue color
PC: WHEEEEEEEEE
The program I've heard of recently looked pretty great
A company releases these needle like RGB strips on CES this year
looked lovely
Bright as fuck too
Bright?
yea
Red fan RGB fans on the front
But it's alright, I like it
It's not that bright, and I pretty much love the black/red aesthetics imo
PSU RGB when 😳
lol
shit man i'm waiting for when we get RGB themal paste
Oh speaking of
Glass
hi
Hate to break it to ya...
oh no
But RGB PSUs are a thing
Gigabyte has a G5 PSU btw
LOL
@abstract kite 80 plus certified?
It has this green top thing, but the G5 thing might make it pretty good
there we go
Gold cert, 80+. G5
Apparently G5 is sort of recent I think? But it should be much better than a G3
Well, I’m gonna bounce. I’m super tired and I need hibernation
Here’s you an 80+ Gold one Glass lol
Nice
goodnight 🌛

Every super card is like
Better than their predecessor
So 2060 Super is probably a 2070
Meh I might be clueless
yeah but you'd think there would be at least a notable improvement between the supers and their steps up
But I do know 2070 Super is basically 2080
At least it's cheaper?
you do save like $120 yeah but
Dunno why those fuckers keep getting 2080 when a 2070 Super is cheaper
yes
YE!!!
1080 Ti MUST BE WEAKER THAN 2060!!!!!
I used to think that was the case when I first got my GPU
Thank god I got a 1060 hahaa
VR ?????????
And most of the games look pretty good too
Fuck I'm tired
I'm not gonna risk passing out on the desk
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
HEAVY METAL IN DISTANCE
FUCKING
KILL
EVERYTHING!
HOLY SHIT.
Minecraft is unironically getting raytracing
yes
They already have RTX
this makes me happy
But it's only done through modding
Wait for a bit, and vanilla Minecraft is gonna have the RTX with no modding needed
Now
Fuck Minecraft modding!
lol I can't mod Minecraft for shit I'm just so bad at it haha
I only know how to mod Payday 2, poor me
3:40AM
Goddamn my sleep schedule
Good night lol
Oh yeah I also apparently can possibly overclock the RAM selected to 3733MHz, so if I do, that's a bonus lol
wow
overclocking my hard drive to 70 brontobytes
Damn!
with nothing but a wrench and a can of pringles
Hm
2x120mm and 2x140mm
Oh yeah that sort of makes sense
You can't place front fans on the fucking case
I think...?
🤷♂️
I saw mention of overclocking fans.
Just buy server fans that run at 14,000RPM.
Really get the noise going.
just buy an air turbine
Lmfao.
You could literally also just buy a turbo from a car or van and jank it into a turbojet engine and it literally sounds the same.
bro literally just suspend your PC in an environment where all particle movement is stopped
Only that? Make a fully stable higgs field where there exists nothing at all and put the PC into it.
just suspend your PC outside of the observable universe
10D*
Yeah nah, you don’t wanna be going that high.
Visualising 4D space is hard enough without adding more dimensions.
Science is my thing, but fuck if I don’t prefer quantum mechanics to higher dimensions.
Higher dimensions are just confusing af once you go anywhere past 4.
just travel forward in time to the heat death of the universe and put your pc there
maximum cool
Shunt the heat from the PC to a different dimension and the sheer cold of nothingness into it.
call upon the titans of the north to freeze your PC beyond the limits of conventional science
Call the ultimate superweapon to cool a thing making heat...
A hammer.
Can’t make heat if it doesn’t work.
get a thing inventor to make a thing inventor that invents a thing inventor
Lmao.
@tall ore My superweapon is almost as effective as hammer
👀
What would increasing RAN from 16GB to 32 or even 64 do with an i7-9750H and RTX 2060 computer?
Um, not much if you're talking about games. There was a test that I saw today that apparently quad sticks can improve performance in some games though; so that's interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhMYmEu8gks
But tbh its highly situational and you would benefit from upgrading other things, like faster storage for example
The previous 5-10 videos have been from Hardware Unboxed
What's with you guys and your obsession with him?
They make really good in depth benchmark videos, very reliable
Plus, games might need more than 16GB later on
64GB of ram sounds very nice to have
I mean, yeah
definitely gonna be one of the first things i upgrade
I wanna get myself a PC that has like pretty good parts haha
I mean as in somehow managing to get 2080 Ti performance or better
I guess, get it while its cheap?
RAM is getting cheaper soon anyway lol
AMD is making a 17% more performance than 2080 Ti GPU for what was expected 1100$
but will it do raytracing
I mean, you've heard of it
do it
I never heard of a price rumor for this card
8GB is like the bare minimum
AMD is supposedly getting their raytracing next lineup of GPU I believe
oh damn, nice
@abstract kite 32GB over 16GB is basically nothing
64GB though, that's when it starts cooking
But
in the future
If your wallet holds a million go for it
it's a nice goal
^^
You will get really good performance increase running dual channel
some go for <$210 man @fleet canopy
Yeah but like
One other question, what cpu are you using?
@abstract kite
hey i have a 1660 ti gpu what do yall think i should upgrade to?
Get a regular 2x8GB 3200MHz at CAS16
@pure cloud 2070 super
really go that hight?
Or 5700XT if you don't want all that raytrace
basically a 2080 but $120 cheaper
or 5700XT, yeah
i was thinking more like a 1080 ti
1660ti, are you happy with your performance?
Ah
1080Ti would be good too
i mean its pretty good
1080 Ti is good too, if you can find a used for a good price
but raytracing
People are hav reason
That literally only came out a year ago, you don't really need to upgrade especially if you're just running maybe 1080p
oh alright will an amd ryzen 5 2600 be able to handle 2070 super even?
oh
Um, it'll probably bottleneck it a bit I would guess
well you could opt for a 2060 too
not that hard of a decrease in performance for another $180 off
That's hardly worth the upgrade though
good point
Same Vram and memory bus I think
alright then ill prob just stick with my gpu until i get a better cpu first
Yeah
yeah
If you're satisfied with your performance you don't have to upgrade, but if you're considering maybe getting a better monitor soon or something; then an upgrade might be worth it
My recommendation for a 2070 Super would be a 3700X, but you can go for a 3600, can still handle the 5700XT/2070 Super
definitely get a 3600, arguably one of the best price to performance CPUs on the market rn
alright i will
I mean, I wanna YEET my 1440p for a 1080p 144/180hz lol
If you're gonna upgrade the cpu, go for 8 cores
ye
Best recommendation is a 3700X
You guys seen the reddit post where a guy got 8 cores from a 1600?
slright thx a lot for the recommendations
Never heard of that no, but speaking of Intel; that 10900k is gonna be using 300w of power
What
300W from a FUCKING CPU?
that thing better get like 5.1 core clock
The highest any gone for was like 105W
good god
Naah
That's TDP that's a different measurement entirely
Gotta get higher than that
Me what?
Wait yeah
That's how much it can draw in
But 300W?
300W.
TDP isn't how much power the cpu outputs, but its a measurement for thermals specifically as it relates to coolers
The power use is gonna be different
probably less than AMD's new TR lol
The 64 core, I mean maybe... I hope so; but thats already using more power than the 16 core
the wraith is a pretty solid cool
That as in the 10900k I mean
it's no 280mm full liquid nitrogen loop but it works
Liquid nitrogen loop? Hm...
well yeah the 10900k sounds like it's gonna be pretty fat
Better not be another damn Coffee Lake though
stg if they refresh that stupid architecture again
Its Comet Lake? But it is another refresh basically
Ice Lake I believe
sIIGGHHH
Ice Lake is the Laptop stuff
Oh
Ice Lake
Tiger Lake is their 10nm+ laptop chips
Shit lake
And yeah Comet Lake is their next line of desktop, 14nm infinity
Intel CPU laptops are shitty compared to AMD's new 4000 laptop lineup
absolutely
laughable
Real CPU power from a laptop CPU
The uh 4800H most likely
That's the high clocked sku
today i learned i was destined to be stuck with intel from the start
my laptop has an i7
end me
Not as confusing as the naming scheme intel came up with Ice lake
Just wait for PC lineup of 4000
Gotta have good gaming perf
Probably like 20-30% more than 9900KS ;)
:(
Nah that'd be a wild guess tbh
Eh we don't know
definitely not, knowing amd
More like 5-10%
All we know is its 7nm+
yeah but also consider 4000 is gonna be wild expensive
The prices have mostly been consistent, the only real increase I can think of is the 3700X and 3800X marketing that they pulled
intel really boutta get blown out of the damn water
their best core reduced to ashes
F
I really hope AMD does make a good CPU with good all around with 100% or above for cheaper tbh
i hope intel can get their shit together soon, AMD may be progressing into the monopoly intel left behind if they overtake too much
I can see them bringing prices up slightly across the board, but giving you more cores for that money
I mean, yeah
Probably most likely, just speculation I've heard.
Works for me, Intel already super behind
Still though, if they've doubled core counts on their APUs for laptops; at the very least that's promising for desktop apus
Except on best gaming perf
That's the one hurdle that is basically being let down by their infinity fabric, but will surely be overcome with time.
i dislike being conflicted this hard with cpu choice
Either way you go, the performance will be fantastic. Just depends if you'd rather have the better price/performance vs the current best in gaming
Yeah, no need to blow all the money for the perfect gaming machine lol
Like I'd love to get a 9700K because better gaming perf than a 3700X
But gotta take in the fact that the ryzen CPUs are mad good
I want to stress current best too, cause there will be something better this year. Yet to see what it will be
i'm thinking of getting a UPS with my build, now that i consider it
blackouts are getting alarmingly common in my area
That's a good investment for sure
The thought of bricking a motherboard while updating its Bios
I'd wager AMD will do the same as 3000 series while also making a 10 core and just running the clock speeds into madness.
Hey guys
My buddy can't join us in a lobby
when he joins nobody is in it, including him, and when we join his it's the same thing
he's tried verifying the files already, is this an uninstall only solution?
note
he's also uninstalled it
same issue
@void perch ^ this guy needs help
To bring further attention to this issue
I just messaged 3 other people
who had this issue and brought it up before
and no one has figured it out yet
Just y'know...
Send the problem to the @odd portal...?
in DM
:)
Actually no
There
Steam's tech support?
Because it's not between Steam and you
It's between the developers and you
the one that reads technical support
I put it here first on accident, my bad
It's alright, can be either put in tech support or the bug report
More likely it's already more known of now, so you may have to wait for an update or you need to solve it somehow yourself
yeah, unfort everyone who has suffered this seems to be at a dead end
so I think it's just waiting for the issue to be solved at this point
I'm not sure a 10 core on Ryzen works, that would be some weird binning. So they have 8 core chiplets right, which are divided into 2 CCXs of 4 each. And how they make their lower skus is by using defective chips, disabling a couple cores for the 6 cores for example right; and so on. Then again I don't know how their R9s are laid out, maybe they could make a theoretical 10 core 4800X
The 3800x would actually be more worth it at its price point if it were a 10 core though
Now that you say it, indeed so
I remember reading about a "2800X" that was gonna be a 10 core, dunno if it was a false rumor or just a scrapped chip that they decided not to release for whatever reason
More likely a false rumor since people must have thought it'd be 4C, 6C, 8C, 10C, 12C, etc
Looking it up again, turns out there were false rumors about Ryzen 2000 having 10 and 12 core parts
Zen 3 should be a complete redesign of the architecture so maybe the ccx's will have different amounts of cores
A complete redesign?
Didn't watch all of AMDs presentations for CES yet though
Yeah, it will be 7nm+ but totally different from Zen 2
Hm
Quoting AMD
maximum value
Just like
Buy infinite fans
There's no limits to the fans lmao
That's also some wack ass keyboard
But uhh
It's cool I Guess
Ok Glass, why?
Why is amazon listing it
Meme build, right?
Those earbuds are kinda ok, tho.
" More for the money with this high quality Product "
Have a pair of SE535s myself.
"100% satisfaction"
"Excellent product"
"Offers premium quality at outstanding saving"
$239,215.45
Oh yeah
Definitely
Haha
Hm
Does PSU really make you spend 140$ for a 700W Titanium when you can go for a perfectly good 1000W EVGA G5 for near same price?
i'd rather have 700W at maximum efficiency rather than 1000W near it
Well shit those god damn things are expensive too
For me, I prefer having 300W more than what PCPP shows
I also recommend this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6RrG3C/arctic-silver-thermal-paste-as535g
It's one of the best thermal paste in the market
so is kryonaut
"Never would have thought changing thermal compound would have made a difference. I switched from arctic silver 5 over to this and saw a pretty significant drop in my temps for just a switch of thermal paste! Now I recommend this to anyone who asks and they are all astonished too when they see the improvement! It's great stuff!"
Well then
"This thermal paste is a bit dated but a friend gave me the tube for free. Cant beat free! If I had a choice, I would have gone with some Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut or Noctua NT-H1. Really hate that Artic Silver 5 needs to cure before getting the best temps out of it."
🤷♂️
thank
My favorite toothpaste
cpu toothpaste
I just love that metallic taste
There's a lot of decent pastes on the market. I think the one that people tend to recommend is Artic MX-4, its the kind that doesn't cure and will last for years allegedly without needing to re-paste
I mean, Arctic makes good paste, Hydronaut is also really good, but the best TIMs are liquid metals.
You’ll average dropping 15 degrees with liquid metals.
Best I saw was a 25c difference.
@median moon Regarding your real pc build:
Note: all of these increase your price
- Your motherboard seems a bit low-end for a 9900ks, you should get one with pretty good cpu powerdelivery and cooling of such. 175-210$ is probably where u'll land.
- I'm assuming you plan on gaming? A single, mediocre nvme ssd for OS (30-40gb?) and all of ur games might be a bit tight. Personally I prefer setups like a 128gb 3.5GB/s read nvme sdd for OS and then a 500gb sata ssd for games
- Minor odditity... ? Well, you're buying a 525$ CPU and only a 500$ GPU, which is an unsual balance. Again, not sure what you're aiming for, but most ppl would probably get at least a 2080 with that :p
Isn't a 2070 Super basically a 2080?
They both have the same board
And if you were to OC the 2070 Super, you could probably reach near 2080 Super performance
Also, I believe their Gaming OC 3x is better than the windforce
Mine is doing pretty good on keeping coool
He does also have a 1000$ gift thing from his/her parents or whoever
So I believe it's mainly just CPU/GPU
Also funny how the 2080 Super has a higher Core/Boost clock than any 2080 Ti
1650 MHz 1860 MHz - About Every Other 2080 Super
1545 MHz 1815 MHz - 2080 Ti Zotac AMP Extreme
Yeah its to ensure the 235w tdp is met
Well then
If nvidia didn't care about efficiency, and weren't scummy; they would give you the full 12gb of vram and then push the clocks to the sky. 300w tdp be dammed
Hah
I'm wondering if a card that powerful would even have its full potential with any current cpu on the market
Oh you know what I was mistaken, its tdp is 250w
I might have been thinking of a different card with the 235 number
But in any case the point still stands
kek
@regal laurel 1. figuring out how to do that, i'm already $80 overbudget
2. i added a 2TB HDD there to hold all my games, the 250gb SSD is just for boot
3. i have $1000 for my birthday (2 days ago) to drop on my CPU and GPU, that's why i evened them out
You could get a 9700K though
Both offer same ish game perf
And put forward the extra money for possibly a better GPU
Or replace the 2070 Super with a 5700XT Sapphire Nitro Plus priced at 450$ unless you really want the raytracing
Or both
Any particular reason why Intel?
Gaming performance
The FPS difference isn't worth the money compared to the 3000-series ryzen parts
Get a cheaper CPU, invest in GPU
If you wanna play games
He's the kind of guy that wants the frames haha
It's only really worth looking at CPU enhancements of gaming performance when your GPU is near the top end
Which neither of those cards are
I get wanting the frames entirely
But you need to think about where your money is going furthest
That's pretty much what I said before, the performance increase is only apparent with something like a 2080ti
Which is like what, 15 - 20% at 1080p or something, who uses a 2080ti at 1080p
So I just remembered, this exists... pretty handy https://www.techspot.com/review/1968-ryzen-3600-vs-2600-gaming-scaling/
So he became a guy who never saw the sun?
This article features benchmarks comparing several cpu and gpu pairings, the point of the article was to see how well the 2600 stacks up compared to its newer equivalent; but it also features the 3900x and 9900k for comparison
Fuck it I'll post charts
Haha
Ooh, I can see some of the differences between 1080p and 1440p
That's pretty neat
The benchmarks are really expansive, it even includes 1080p medium, and 1440p medium in order to force a cpu bottleneck. The differences really become apparent there.
I mean
You honestly could use the benefits of more money out of getting a 3900X
And then you could possibly replace the PSU with a 850W Gold 80+ and get much more money to possibly get a better GPU
is there really a point in that though
getting a better mobo i could see, but not the GPU
You want MSI, yeah?
yeeees
I know Tomahawk is the best kind of thing you can get from MSI
Not sure about the 2nd one, but I heard about Carbon being good too
Yeah reviews on pro carbon is pretty great
Buuut
If you go with a 3900X, and pick up a good X570
You'll have great support for M.2 drives, since of their new thingy
