Usually, on first setup, so is step 1 to flash bios, step two to install M.2 firmware, step three to install windows, and step 4 to install the M.2 controller, if you're installing on a M.2, U.2, or PCIe drive.

Sometimes things run really bad because they run on a universal controller, instead of the one required for them.

Better than that the good old days of nothing until you install software.

People should regardless read their manuals more. My board per example has weird thing where it will always prioritize CPU lanes to the M.2 slot in specific set-ups, which made me choke my board to death a few times

Usually, periferals are dedicated a specific part of processing power, and that includes all USB, I/O, and SATA.

ah, it tells you there that SATA 4/5 are unavailable when using an M.2, but the M.2 should take priority, not sure why it shows less performance :/

My own setup would have no issues what so ever with bandwith in any shape or form. PCH not included, but generally not throttled, even with many drives.

When I did throttle it, it was because I put an Intel 900P PCIe drive on the PCH lane.

And yeah, as soon as it tried anything, everything else died.

From what I've read, 5700xt focus on 1440p. 2070s can get you 4k 60fps. and got RTX support.
