Yeah but ram is volatile memory meaning it needs power to store the information. They just took the need to move the data from the ssd to the ram meaning no lost times as it can access all the data all the time.

Well they have tech that turns multiple ssd drives (soldered into the board so no bottleneck) into virtual ram or the ram for the system. It's faster because it doesn't have to load the data into ram in the first place. That's why there is no load time because it is already loaded

SSDs are as fast as their bus

And no storage bus is as fast as the bus for RAM

AMD infinity fabric would be as close as we can get

But even then we are limited by the SSDs speed

Yes and in this case it's on the board so it's linked directly to the processors. The loading times come from transferring data from the storage to ram

Apple have been using proprietary SSDs for years in the MacBook Air. As Doot states, there is still a bus controller between the processors, system storage and RAM, that may or may not bottleneck throughput.

There are also reports out that the PS5 is still looking to be faster and more powerful than Scarlett, based on the dev kits for each.

Ehhh, alright.
Ludvig started testing older videocards a couple of months ago. The lowest he tried was the GTX650 videocard, from 2012. He said "the game runs fine", I assume that's 30FPS at max on 720p.
I looked it up, he mentioned the Intel Core i5-2500k. Which is roughly the same as the i5-4460 or Ryzen 3 1200, (at least thats what Userbenchmarks says)
So... the videocard is from 2012. The i5-4460 is from 2014. I think it's same to assume that the game will run on 2014 midrange computers.

Well assuming that the GTX970 is used to capture in-game footage, of which we know is 60fps and 1080p, I can safely assume that GTFO will run at about 180 FPS on GTFO.

if I may interject, I do not consider free-for-all or team-deathmatches like Quake 2 or Unreal Tournament to be anything similar to PUBG.
PUBG's battle royale style of gameplay was only ever seen once before, in Arma 2 Battle Royale.
Which is a mod for Arma 2 made by, wait for it, Brendan Greene in 2013, and he also worked on the H1Z1 King of the Hill battle royale game mode with Daybreak.
Brendan's problem is that he never copyrighted his work on the mod, nor on PUBG, nor for H1Z1 KOTH, and tried to retroactively copyright it and sue developers who had made similar battle royale style games when they essentially had every right to do so.
I don't like what Brendan Greene did either, but he was technically trying to protect his intellectual property, just ignorantly.
Though, the Battle Royale japanese movie was made before his mod, so it would stand that they would have more rights to sue than he does, if it weren't for the separation of legalities between film and video games.
It's all a mess really lol
