It's not even pricey for Australian houses
$1,600 is a shitbox
$2,000 is half decent
And for a really nice place you can expect to pay $3,000 a month
Sounds nice
Lol
Off topic... But I literally can't live in apartments or anything like that
I'm physically and mentally incapable because of my ptsd
Eh... I was leaving it at that
As much as I hate channel hopping to have a chat we should
Ah well that's fine to then
So what CPU are you buying?
And how much RAM?
3950x obviously
Cuz my parents still need to eat? I wanna be a little nice
Seriously tho... Idk what she was thinking
Lol
That "I wanna be a little nice"
That's the funny part
I don't know if you're nice or not but it's still funny
Just a little
Eh.... They could spend $15,000 and they'd be fine... I just like challenge of a budget
H o w
Only 128 at that price point?
Yeah
Gotta buy 4 titans
And have a cpu that can drive it all
Didn't leave much room for RAM
DDR3 days
Ah
I would have specced it differently with a Xeon if back then I knew more about computers
Then it would have cost a shitload more because ECC memory
The current xeons are weird... They don't really have a reason to cost $20,000+
Like $5,000? Sure... But wth does a $20,000 CPU do that much differently
run server systems simultaneously
@harsh terrace you're ex-armed forces?
Oh I read ptsd as that haha
Bella are you ever asleep?
shrug
Post traumatic stress disorder
People can get PTSD from work
Or descending a deep hole drilled to get to an alien rock 65 million years ago
Lol
Isnt ptsd from work classified as something else?
Oh wait... a traumatic event at work yes
Have seen my share of death at the workplace so yeah I can understand
Idk... Sorry for going off topic... To be specific mine is from abuse
Sorry to hear that
I know no words I can offer will ever take it away or make it better
At least you have your own life and that phase is past
Mhm
Ay... Cyberpunk will have raytracing
Nice
It'll run slower than 60fps but it'll look great
No PTSD is a broad spectrum term relating to mental health issues imposed by anything
Yeah
Whenever my back lets me lmao
Ah yeah makes sense
Wonder why don't they use smaller boxes
The CPU is so small
I also wonder another thing
Why not allow the top two SKUs to boost higher
Say 3900X to 125watts
and 3950X to 140 watts
Maybe even do not have to bundle stock coolers with the 12 core and 16 cores?
I mean, the stock coolers, you can use them if you wanted to
Bundle a better Wraith Prism with the 8 cores
and Wraith Spire RGBs with the 6 cores
@fiery nacelle my chest actually, and they totally shouldn't include a stock cooler... Even If its a decent one... It adds to the price
honestly they should offer both options: stock cooler or nothing if you plan on getting an aftermarket or already have one
my Ryzen 7 2700 came with a Wraith Spire RGB, and it's still sitting on my shelf unused since I got a Noctua ND-H15 for my build
would have been nice to save a few bucks to not have had to get the extra cooler
lol I got one to sell XD
I'll most likely be putting it into my roommate's new pc build when he gets all his parts soon
What if its intel based?
who's build is intel based? your's?
Not mine
as far as I am aware it should be okay, might need to get a specific mounting bracket for it to fit the intel board, but I don't see why not
my roommate's build is a Ryzen based build, I'm designing it for him
he wants a white system lol
Is he Mr. Clean?
he already has the motherboard, M.2 storage, and the case. The GPU is on it's way, and he still has to get the RAM, CPU, and PSU.
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/XH8KWD
lol he is not Mr. Clean he just has other white electronics and wants it all to match
I know lol
😛
i dont... but whats your problem?
why do we need expertise on a PS2? haha
Shit, sorry I didn't answer back here
you see, I have a copy of Futurama: The game and it seems to be my only PS2 game which is displayed in black and white and every few seconds makes the TV screen turn blue for a bit
it's still playable but I guess you can understand how annoying that is
if anyone could help me it'd be much appreciated
It sounds like the AV (composite? whatever) connectors are acting up
or maybe the disc could be dirty... or corrupt
is there any way I could fix it if it is corrupt?
my brother said that we had to use another TV to fix it
maybe? if its only one game its likely not the tv
yet at the same time the game apparently works with other tv screens
at any rate, what do you think I should try doin'?
then again, it's a cracked copy copied into a virgin disk 'cus 73% of argentinian software is pirated
hm...
it's pretty awful tbh, there're only two big counry(?)wide stores which sell original physical games, yet at very high prices
in fact it's cheaper to buy through steam now that they applied one's own country's currency
That's a problem.with your composite video cables yeah
what do you think could be happening dooter?
I think the cable might be fucked tbh
Do you have another composite device?
And the composite cable to go with it?
I don't think so, not here at least
are you sure it could be that? as I said it only happens with this one game
if I get another composite device I could try with it
well if you get another one and the same problem occurs with a different cable then you know the composite cable is fucked
@tight cliff
just wondering doot but what do you base yourself off of?
I have plenty of PS2 games and the Futurama one seems to be the only one doing this
eyup, so my brother said
seemingly the only fix right now is to get another screen I guess
Well then the issue is undiagnosable
you sounded like you had a doctorate in IT there :v
but, I guess
absolutely no answer about this on google
I mean I'd get another TV screen if it didn't cost one of my nuts in the position I'm in right now
Thats because if it works on other TV's and not yours the problem isnt diagnosable
As its a singular un-replicable problem
Any time
Some PC parts are like that
90c tho?
A lot of parts have an ideal temperature range
which is why cooling them like a mofo isnt always the best
What part is it?
1070 max q
it runs worse at 60c than 90c with the same load
and same clocks and all
hm shouldnt really be that hot tbh
usually i can't touch it
Must be meh sensor
maybe
Id say dodgy sensor then
I just got myself a free 512GB Samsung 951 NVME SSD and 16GB of DDR3 SODIMM RAM
how? lol
Nice
So I decided to do a full salvage operation
Plan is to make an ultra small form factor PC using the rest of the internals I salvaged from the laptop
Specy are pretty nice not top of the range but nice
I7 6500U, 16GB RAM (probs gonna swap it to 8 though), GTX 960M 2GB and approximately 1.5hours at full.power draw on battery
@harsh terrace my neighbour was throwing out his gaming laptop that he totalled
So I asked for it and went full slavage mode
Nice
It's a shame that it wasn't just superficial damage
The case was pretty fucked and the screen was absolutely trashed
Ah, nice SSD tho
Yeah... What's the memory clocked at?
Nothing
It's sodim
1333 is my guess if not 1333 it's 1600
Nothing flash that's for sure
@harsh terrace
ah
nice
the only part of the computer that should ever run that hot...
is @harsh terrace himself
Ah ha ha ha
Hm?
im lost
anyway, small and thin gaming laptops do run hot at peak usually
heck even the older super-thin macbook air CPU hits near 100 deg C and throttles under sustained full load
too thin to cram much useful cooling in there
yeah
oooh
i finally got it
im fucking stupid
i didn't know you were talking about me lol
im not usually called he
oh I'm confused now
the pronoun "she" would be considered appropriate for you I guess?
It's not gonna run hot once I MacGyver a cooling solution onto it
But in saying that I may not need to since it's not ever going to be anywhere near even medium load
ln2 tells us how well it performs, right?
relatively yes
Cinebench R15: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X @ 5434 points
Previous holder: Intel Core i9-9960X @ 5320 points
Cinebench R20: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X @ 12167 points
Previous holder: Intel Core i9-7960X @ 10895 points
Geekbench 4: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X @ 65499 points
Previous holder: Intel Core i9-7960X @ 60991points
At this point, AMD is possibly going to overcome Intel
For a long while
Should I get a 2700X? Since I don't really wanna overclock anything
why not the new Ryzen 3700x?
I mean, doesn't it need the newer motherboards? Or have I gotten the conversation all wrong?
I also did see some of you saying it works on the current motherboards, but would need a BIOS update
There is the B550 motherboards coming out which should be much cheaper than X570
the new motherboards, according to Admiral Doot Doot, have heating issues
kek
the new 3000 series of cpus should be getting a BIOS pdate to allow them to be used on an older board, but you won't get all the features of the new cpu if you go that route. You'll have to get a new motherboard eventually. Otherwise I'd just stick with a 2000 series cpu
Of course
Which leads to me question o-o
Shouldn't I at least get a 2700X
Since I'm not overclocking anything
depends on what you're doing with your pc. If just gaming you don't even need that much cpu power
I have a 2700 overclocked to 4GHz and get 4068 in Cinebench
I'd look at a 2600 if you're just gaming
But if I don't really like to overclock?
and not wanting to overclock
Alright ig
2600 is a 6 core vs the 2700's 8 core, but it runs at a faster GHz speed than the 2700
the 2700x is overkill for games
my 2700 barely goes over 35% usage in games whith my GPU bottlenecking at 100%
What are the benefits of more cores?
doing more task at the same time
like gaming while recording and streaming at the same time
and rendering vids, encoding etc
newer games are starting to utilize multicore processing, but 8 cores is still overkill for what is currently out, and what will be available over the next 3-5 years
Alright
this was the reason why Intel chips were considered the best for games, even if an AMD chip has the same clock speeds as the Intel chip, the Intel chip runs one of the cores faster than the others, running single-core games better than the AMD chips would do
but now that new games use more than one core, AMD is gaining a lead on the competition
Ah
@fleet canopy why are you so dead set against overclocking?
Is a Ryzen 2700X okayish if I wanna game and stream from time to time? Also for using art programs
Of course @wheat magnet
I would always suggest saving the extra $ and go with a 2700 and overclock it to get the free faster clock speeds
overclocking isn't all that hard tbh
Also same as Hardold, I would not overclock either. I prefer to have everything to be more relayable then speedi
@fleet canopy it's a lot easier than you might think lol
Oh
but within limits is perfectly normal
all about temps
like my 2700 can boost to 4.1GHz but I leave it overclocked at 4
Yeah but still. I don't trust overclocking because of my own personal agenda. I don't mind turning my graphics settings down in order to have better performance and such. I just prefer it if everything works by itself with as less tinkering as possible
basically by the time your cpu burns out from overclocking, it is already very obsolete
that's just the thing, overclocking gives you better performance
for free
If you can afford shit, overclock. Otherwise, if your CPU burns down and you fucked up your warranty then that's that.
instead of paying for someone to do it for you on another chip
because that's bascially all the 2700x is, a stock overclocked 2700
with a higher power usage
I believe from 65TDP to 95TDP
from 65 to 105 Watts
that sounds more accurate, yeah
now that being said, the 2700x can still be overclocked further from it's base clock speeds as well
but again, you can get virtually the exact same performance from a 2700, that you can from a 2700x
a few YT vids from LinusTechTips or Jayz2Cents will get you overclocking in no time
Well
all about watching your temps, and making sure you have adequate cooling
if you're using a stock cooler, maybe try not to overclock too much. But if you get an aftermarket cooler that is more efficient, overclocking is easy peasy
I'm getting a Dark Rock Pro 4 to go along with it
if you're getting that level of cooling, I highly recommend overclocking
Alright
Any opinion on be quiet! Pure rock? I am mostly trying to get pro 4 too like Harold, but it's kinda big for my taste, and also coming across it in here in normal price is kinda hard. I could get a pure rock much cheaper from a friend thou who works at a hardware shop, so I wonder if it's worth it, or should I stick with rock pro 4
I don't know much about anything other than the Dark Rock 4 :/
I prefer to go with Noctua
they look like garbage, but are amazing
considered the best out of all after-market air coolers
I’ve heard good stuff about be quiet! But then again, Noctua’s also pretty good
From your perspective though, is it too loud?
I wanna get a noctua d15 for my next build probably
You noticed the hat right? That’s the signature of all master thiefs!
The word is actually 'thief'
d15 is what I’m looking at iirc for my build
Seems solid, not a fan of the closed loo cpu water cooler systems. And dh 15 seems to cool just as good 👌🏻
I lie actually, it’s a cryorig
The d15 was what I was going to get but my pc has a glass side, and it looks brown?
Not sure if I could paint it to be white though
The H7
Or the C7, I didn’t get around to choosing because I don’t know how hot the Ryzen 3000 will be
(C7 would look better imo)
It’s a 49 CFm or something?
darn moneys :^(
The 570x chipset doesn't have a heating problem, that's like saying CPUs that run in the 70-80 degree range have a heating problem.
Cooling any hot component is a solved problem just saying.
As for 2700x I'd say wait to see how the 3300, 3600 and 3600x all perform, currently it's shaping up that even the 3300 will perform bas good as the 2700 for 99USD (potentially even as good as the 2700x) and if you're budget conscious throw them on a 470x Mobo, I wouldn't go past a 3600x unless I was going to buy a 500 series chipset Mobo though
I guess so
Also a 2700X is not overclocked at 4Ghz that's below boost clock
Overclocking is the definition of pushing a component past manufacturers specifications, that means taking it past 4.1Ghz has the manufacturer has specified that 4.1Ghz is within regular and manufacturer guaranteed speeds.
By setting it a 4.0Ghz you are clocking it below it's maximum manufacturer specified speed however you are most likely preventing the up and down clocking and preventing it from boosting over 4.0Ghz.
Even if you set it to 4.1Ghz that's just know an clocking it
A 2700x isn't just simply an overclocked 2700
@dense wasp noctua D15 is a fantastic cooler but it's quite ugly due to their colour scheme (in my opinion), personally I prefer the dark Rock Pro 4 which has a nice black colour scheme and perform within 1 degree of the D15, I also think it's slightly shorter so it's more workable into most cases
Just food for thought if you care about colour schemes
I think noctua actually did release a D15 stealth or something thought which is black
I always have my cases shut though, never with plexi or anything you can see.
Usually in a Fractal design define C case
They are not pretty though
The noctuas that is
The black one looked dope though, but hasn’t been released as far as I can tell
Ah
Well I do know the Dark Rock Pro4 performs within 1 degree of the D15 and cryorig had a real nice one too
Yeah, looks good that one as well
Cryorig R1 Ultimate
so what your saying is that buying a new mobo for the new chipset isn’t worth it?
I’m very budget conscious
No Im not saying that at all
I think if you are buying a 3600x or higher then you should go for a 570x chipset board
Still 95% built in fans on the chipset?
At the end of the day by buying a 400 series mobo you will limit your ability to upgrade in the future, when the next gen Ryzen come out it is very likely they will be incompatible with the 400 series mobos which means if you get the itch to upgrade in say 2 or 3 years then you will need to buy a new mobo and chip.
If you ask me the 500 series chipset is a meaningful advancement over the 300/400 series chipsets and I would recommend going for it anyway
And yeah its looking like 570x boards will have active cooling solutions to solve the heat generated by the chipset, I would not buy a passively cooled 500 series board
Btw, what’s the thing with ram nowadays? I’ve had like 3-4 pieces of Corsair dominator ram fail on me the last 2 years.
What “should” I use?
I stick to Corsair Vengeance, Kingston Hyper X and Team T Force mainly
Adata arent too bad either
Hynix is decent but not really high clock speeds
Ive never had Kingston Hyper X fail on me, I have had a stick of Corsair fail on me and also most of the patriot RAM I have worked with has failed (seems to have a 2-3 year life span max)
Kingston is a very safe bet
Last time I bought a pair I had the store unpack them and runs tests to see they weren’t doa 😅
Not a bad idea
Seem to happen easily now a days, or I’m just unlucky
Id say youre unlucky 😂
I dont really like G Skill
temperamental as hell in my experience
Like Ive never had G.Skill fail but the number of times Ive had to reseat it to make it work
Although the newer G.Skill RAM seems better
Thanks!
Hey guys, this is a pretty good watch:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVy_X3TNUAU
Navi, 50% better perf/Watt vs Vega...but is that good enough to dethrone Nvidia? History tells the story of AMD's failing graphics division. ♥ Check out http...
I think Im still gonna buy a 5700XT though
@lost iron Maybe they will out a 5800 / 5800XT by early next year?
To keep up with the new PS5 and Xbox Scarlett
Vega 20 is their target for next year
Vega 20?
Vega 20
Wasn't all new Vega architecture relegated to compute for enterprise markets?
I dont know if its Vega 20 sorry
oh I see
But what I meant is Vega style was the impression Ive been under
yeah could be Navi XX
considering what the video goes over though, a 5800 XT will be drawing way too much power unless they pull off some serious architectural improvements
Hopefully AMD can quickly release an RDNA 2.0 card fabbed on a 7nm+ EUV lithography
Note "L0" cache
Looks like AMD "burned through" the 7nm efficiency to achieve clockspeed increases
As the video states though
the power draw is too high and AMD cant try to stay ahead of NVIDIA by reaching the next die size
The NVIDIA RTX SUPER line is looking really good
As much as I want to support team red it will be pretty hard to say no to a 2070 at 2060 price
Or even a 2080 at 2070 price
Yeah really nice
Effectively the super line is shaping up to be the next card up at the current card price
But what of the Super
So the 2060 will be the 2060 for less the MSRP of the original 2060, the SUPER 2060 will actually be an unlocked 2070 for the original MSRP of the 2060
The super 2070 will be an unlock 2080 at 2070 original MSRP
So
It's looking like there will be a 2070 ti as well which will be half way between the 2080 and the Super 2080
Ah
And then the 2080 will be nearly a 2080 ti
While the 2080 ti is super obscene with an obscene price to follow
I'd really like to support AMD over on team red
But if I can get an unlocked 2080 for 500-550USD
That's where my money is going
Hell I might even shoot for a 2070 ti if it's around the 650-700USD price range
You wouldn't need it Harold but you would be bottlenecking your CPU with your chipset
Also 570X has PCI gen 4
Which offers twice the bandwidth of PCI 3 (I could be wrong on how much more but I'm pretty sure that's what they have been saying)
And the Radeon 5700XT is PCI 4 compliant
So we will see more GPU's with PCI 4 and that may improve performance again
I was just wondering
I still feel.like there is hype on behind these "leaks" on the NVIDIA SUPER lineup
i just hope the 2080ti super doesn't increase the base price that the 2080ti is currently at
idk how anyone would be able to afford if they raise it
Hah, Nvidia's SUPER is just a big FU to all previous RTX adopters
we'll just have to wait for how AMD responds
is it tho? they did this with the 1080 ti, except they called the first a Titan X
$1,200 for 1080ti performance
then they released a newer card a few months later that's cheaper with the same performance
Fuck 1080 ti benchmark the gt1030
also AMD wont have a response till next year ;-;
They could just cut pricing on their already "nicely" priced Navi to respond - bet Lisa marked them up for a reason
baiting Nvidia?
Their next Navi release if it will be this year will likely target the lower segments
I guess? Maybe...
Idk
AMD isn't really focusing on desktop graphics anymore... They're slowly going towards custom only, like consoles and such
I'm pretty sure we won't see any new desktop video cards from them after 2025
(this is their current plan as far as I know of... They may change it wildly when we get there)
One laptop to media centre conversion under way
Hows the quality of the heatsink?
Laptopy
It will be about 70mm tall since I've decided to include 2 high performance 25mm case fans
Am tossing up buying a few slimline 12mm case fans
To bring it down to about 60mm tall
So the placing is finalised
The profile is drying (glue setting)
Tomorrow I will cut holes in the covers of fan intake
And the put the covers onto the profiles
Use some gap filler to fill off the holes
Sand it all down nice and apply a coat of white paint to protect the MDF
@harsh terrace titans are different to the 1080 ti and 2080 ti they also often come.out first before the ti.
Performance wise usually they are still a little.bit better then the ti.
The Super RTX 2080 TI should be priced as MSRP of the 2080 TI which will see the current 2080 TI reduce in price
I disagree, RTX is basically Pascal with raytracing and the names bumped up (2080ti = Titan X, 2080 = 1080ti, etc)
Thats why the 2080ti so expensive
It's basically this generations Titan X
Although it's highly unlikely we get another 1080 ti
Despite how expensive it was, it performed really well
And I don't think the new SUPER cards will change that either... It's just going to be a small price cut this time
Well, still better than paying 1500 USD for 2080 Ti
Or 1400 USD
I can't really remember which
2080 Ti have performances better than Titan even
They are early top of the line products that usually perform similar to the 80 ti card
But the titans are launched before the line
And they are normally still different in a few ways
They are also super expensive because you're getting new tech sooner
Also Pascal is 14/16nm nodes while turing is 12nm
Exactly... What I'm saying is we probably won't get a cheaper Ti this time around
Well if they do a super ti then the price of the non super will drop
It's unlikely it'll be anything notable... During an investors meeting they said the 1080ti didn't get enough profit and they won't let happen again
They won't sell many supers if the prices keep going up which is why the consensus is that the leak is true when it says that the super cards will match the MSRP of the originals while the originals drop in price
The 1080 ti still tops a 2080 or gets close if I recall
Yeah... They'll never let that happen again lol
Also the RTX titan does still out perform the 2080 ti by about 10%
That thing is a mess lol
That's an average of course
It's not though
Titans have never been Quadros
Titans are usually much closer to Quadros though due to their design
But as it stands they are just a top of the line, here is the best we can do with this architecture for our new GPUs.
Buy it now for a stupidly inflated price instead of waiting for the 80 ti card
Becuase cool new stuff who cares what it costs
Then that Titan is a Quadro lmao... The drivers only let it do workstation applications... They purposely choke it for gaming
You can game on titans though
The 2080ti super will probably be this gens Titan
They are still gaming products
It is not lol
There's already an RTX titan
The titan is a part of the enthusiast range
They are gaming products
Designed for gaming
Then they need to fix something... Cuz the drivers are destroying it for gaming
Go to http://www.privacy.com/jayztwocents to get $5 off your first purchase! RTX Titan is here... how does it perform in games? ○○○○○○ Items featured in this...
4 minutes 50 seconds
The 2080ti is better price to performance.... Which is wild
I wouldn't recommend a titan
Like ever
Titans have never been value buys
Like I said they are a showcase piece
But they aren't Quadros either
Personally I would recommend a 2080 to either
Or even a 2080 (with current Australian pricing)
Titans have always been about "I have the biggest money dick"
kek
I'll kek you
I've never seen a Titan be actually used well for gaming
We said titan is used to cook(
Build me a PC for 1£ challenge
The Titan black was good too
Go to a trash dump and find PC
I don't remember there being any issues with the Titan X either
Other then the obscene price point
oh hsit
come on
Except CPU
buy AMD GPUs too
No
I mean AMD GPUs are alright
I like the word "position" tell me more
But I don't feel like they'd do well for me
LOL
Then you probably have a Gsync monitor?
oh come on
:)
It's almost my birthday
25th birthday?
what's your GPU
(Intel integrated) LOL
i wasn't talkin to you sam
thats ok one
I'm gonna get myself a 2080
why the big jump
ok, then that's fine, i would just make sure it can handle the 1440p
Upgrade once, never again for years
unless you buy amd lol
then you'd have to wait even longer to upgrade
cause the drivers get better over time Hahaha
PSA
if you guys have stuff
like GPUs that are over three years old
strongly consider
re-pasting
solved an intermittent very frustrating heat-related instability issue with mine just by doing that
anyone used an Apple magic keyboard on their PC btw?
I never used Apple for gaming
[doge]
Invest in Dogecoin
@fiery nacelle just make sure you know how to take it apart and put it back together though, lots of times you will fuck up your GPU more by repasting than not
Prices are increasing
Whew safely did it
quite a while ago
Couldn't figure the thickess of the thermal pads so just reused the existing ones though
@fiery nacelle problem is AMD won't release anything close to a 2080ti in performance for at least another year
Or intel
They sadly pretty much gave up in the high end
Yeah
Well... Not yet actually... They'll have a 2080ti equivalent in 2020
Problem is it's in 2020
the thing that sucks is that also Nvidea as a company imo sucks fuckin asshole
Yeah
Hopefully Intel's video card will get them moving
AMD already has them moving again
maybe, i just hope anyone can break the monopoly.
i just kinda hope someone with a great card swoops in with massive price cuts with performance that's just as good as the others, and sets the bar both high for quality and low for price
Intel is rumoured to do that... $699.99 and will supposedly beat the 2080ti
- break monopoly
- change Intel and Nvidia leadership
^
so that all three companies become equally ethical and consumer focused
Nvidia despite great technical leadership and amazing products (not really value wise) isn't really consumer friendly
Yes @harsh terrace they are, hopefully AMD can break in to that market as well
Eh
They'll slow down on consumer products once they do
Like Nvidia and Intel
Or IBM which straight up stopped selling products lol
I quite suspect the time is near that semiconductor tech is fast approaching a plateau due to maturity
in the past, computers went obsolete in the period of 1 to 2 years
Then that became 3 to 5 years
Soon our upgrade cycles will be so long
As is usual for any technology
If they have a breakthrough in machine learning or AI the world better put a lid on those thinking machines
I don't want to serve robot masters
haha
Lol... I was talking about bypassing Moore's law with chiplets or something like that
maybe the damned "Warden" is but an AI interface through a cortex implant on the prisoners
there's always quantum computing
I don't think AI will help desktop performance
LOL
Quantum computers are far off
Unless I'm wrong
Eh... I'm not worried about it then
For now I'd prefer to focus on the world not following cyberpunks or fallouts footsteps
Cuz we're getting dangerously close lol
Anyways
Nvidia is losing stock like crazy
2077 !!!
Hm?
Hm?
Cyberpunk 2077
Yes
with Keanu Reeves
What about it
Yeah... We know which game will win goty in 2020 lol
lel
cause Bella casually brought it up haha
would it not be possible for GTFO to be nominated I wonder?
Maybe? Unlikely
Could it go viral and takeoff
like Flappy Bird and Minecraft
Low...
Really low... Cuz fortnite is still around
So was flappy bird
(Minecraft is a timeless game don't @ me)
Hell even Candy Crush made more revenue than the entire Ubisoft collection
Minecraft is alright
WTF why
Dude... I forgot about Candy crush...
Currently worldwide... mobile games revenue make up 50% of the gaming market share
With the remaining half split up equally between consoles and PCs
Damn
and under the PC category, split up between casual facebook and browser games and "REAL GAMES"
We are the minority
Worldwide revenue maybe comprising 20%?
Really?
All these mobile games are like
damned filthy casuals
less than 30 USD
Analogizing to a world of cars, we'd be BMW owners and you guys are 5 series buyers
dude... my mom has spent like $200 on candy crush alone
Jesus
i dont know lol
well, people have their passions and their resources
i think the most i've spent on micro transactions is like $40
Some of my friends have sunked in more than a thousand dollars (USD) into a single mobile game
ouch
= =
The worst is that those thousand US dollars... exceeds their 1 month gross paycheck... after significant overtime
that is just ONE mobile game
Stop them
that hurts
so don't play mobile game(((
Better investment
NO
NICE
NO
lol end me
headsets are pricy though
emmm, 10cc's twitter staff told me that the console version may be possible
yeah most likely but...
I mean if PC version have some succeed
how does one aim properly with the controller
In these types of games
I can understand the traditional console third person style cover shooter
auto aiming or some help for that
Console players play monsters
PC players play prisoners
The aim is redirect to the body
ah ha
Without moving joystick
GTFO versus....
would be fun and funny
Aim assist with mouse and keyboard, ew
is there one?
I hope not, to god
that was a freak
I though HL2 had something like that
I believe there is aim assist for games
what mice do you guys use BTW?
Hold on, i'll check GTA options
speaking of aiming
yes
? I remember it has
eh
Maybe you should insert a controller(((
XD
Maybe no when with M&KB
breeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
nnnnnnnooooooOOOOOOOOOOOO
Controllers are bad
I used to be so good using them
PS4 ones
now
I
suck
:)
I use XboxOneController...
No
But just play Contra or Guilty Gear or BlazBlue
Xbox controllers are worse
Well, I havn't use Dual shock serise before so I can't compare
0.03 USD on steam wallet
Clearly what I have 99% of the time
This has gone off topic at this point lol
= =
I prefer xbox controllers over playstation 100%
asymmetrical thumbsticks are my jam lol
reereeeeeeeeeeeeeee
XD
and they said Xbox's stuff is more
huh? the new ps4 controllers are kinda wider with their touchpad
tough
means I have to streatch my thumbs towards the center of the controller on ps4 to reach the opytions/share buttons
Still small to me though
I'm Canadian, guess I'm western depending on where you live lol, I'm east of Japan heh
I don't have big hands that I'm aware of
Eastern American
And Earth is dino
it's not flat it's domed because we live on the back of a turtle GAWSH
But i still like Xbox one controller...
AAA
Feels tough and heavy
Mmh
They said it's kind of bigger but I feel it's ok
remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour
Of course
YOU EVER SEE A TURTLE SPIN THAT FAST ZERK?
i've spun a few turtles in my day
lol oh no
And my hand is small
Especially when I play guitar...
However it fits controller. Who'd hell knows(
I mean, the old original Xbox Duke controllers were big, not gonna debate that lol
shhh this is pc build help, which controller should be used with our pcs? lol
The Doot will be mad if this isn't about PC tech Guy.
with shooter game?
ok.. fine me too.
Dark souls M&k is ... lol
= =
I played Mutant Road to Eden with controller, it worked fine. And well... it's turn based.
I use a controller for a lot, but probably because my pc was fried for about 5 years and I only had an xbox to do anything with
only 3 months ago did I build my new pc and I am basically re-adjusting to using M/KB again
it sucks lol
F
Once you do
You'll need to adjust to controller unless you can get used to using both
I use both fairly regularily, I still play a fair bit on my xbox as I own over 300 games for it lol
Jesus
only got maybe 30 games on pc for now
that a re worth playing anyways haha
most of the xbox games were free
Ah
either with games for gold (4 free games per month) or through contests online
but now that I have my beast of a pc, I'm gonna be focusing on that
ay i gave up on aio's and air coolers, does anyone know who sells semi cheap custom kits? (Like $500)
Wow
Damn
"Our arrows will block out the sun"
"Then we will fight in the - 4k resolution, 144hz refresh, ray-traced global illumination generated with temporal aliasing and 4x MSAA shadows"
Praise be!
IBM didn't choose to stop selling consumer products.
The company was acquired by Lenovo and Lenovo stopped IBM from working on consumer products and refocus on enterprise equipment.
The last consumer product IBM was a part of make was the Lenovo X220 and X220t (might not be the very last probably one of the last).
IBM's main focus has been machine learning/AI from what I know.
Also it's a technology chat so I don't mind console discussions, provided it's about technology I don't really have an issue
Straight up game discussions I feel would probably be better on in general or a games channel though
Guys how can I disable auto windows updates without the shitty ‘professional’ version because my computer wants to update and the last time it tried it seriously fucked me, I’m pretty sure it’s in regeddit but I want to make sure before I do anything stupid.
I Boob Monster
@lavish briar I think you can via registry edits
This is the new 1903 update?
Okay cool, looks like I’m going to be messing with windows instead of sleeping because I am not waiting an hour again for an update to fail installing
Let me see if I can find it
Cheers Doot 🍻
Cheers
Thanks, I’ll get on it now
Still can choose manual updates once this is done correct?
If you’re referring to this Sam then no this is permanent and I think you have to disable the setting to get updates
I just can’t afford for what happened yesterday to happen again so I’m not bothered haha
Although it might depend on the solution looking at it again
Never mind, if you do it through regeddit it notifies you about updates and installing, you don’t have to have it permanently disabled
Thanks Doot, I love this channel 😂
oh dear what happened after the update - your PC could not boot into windows right?
I did the registry change first thing when got 10. Haven't updated since
Funny because I was up to date security wise on 7. MS forcing my hand has made me less secure in their eyes. Sad.
@harsh terrace Corsair has a sort of "custom loop building" thing now where u select your case/cpu/gpu and it kinda guides ya
Oh yeah I've seen this before
you might not have a corsair case that itll work with but you could get the gist of whats reccommended/etc and the pricing
im debating on doing a custom loop with hard tubing but i really need to look into it and study up
because i'd be doing that with the new Zen 2 ryzens and a 2080ti..
and thats a lot of expensive hardware to mess up on lmao
not having internet is s u c c
F
Hard tubing is good if you want to dump 5-10 hours for 50-70cm of results.
haha, nice one doot
Is that project scarlett @lost iron?
The new Xbox they announced at e3
Haha lol
I mean it's probably not as good
It's only got a 960 mini 2GB
If they can pull off what they are planning anyway
Well the main advancement is using SSD tech for ram meaning no load times basically
