How good is the Burst Rifle? I saw it was added

It is pretty good, 1-2 bursts can kill a striker/shooter

There are no rewards handed out for any completion at this time. Rewards is something that will be added and there's the possibility to apply rewards to those who completed R1, etc in the future but nothing has been decided on that.

Hey everyone! Just got this game with some friends and ran A1 w/ 3 players probably 5-6 times and are getting completely rocked by the security doors, so we're trying to understand what we are doing wrong... So we trigger the alarm and 4 red dots appear, do we simply stand in each of the 4 until the timer hits 100%? Or do we have to each stand in our own until the timer hits 100%?
Our current assumption was that all 4 need to be occupied, so we're trying to clear the first 3 and then have someone run to the last one...
well, if it splits, youll need to stand in each, but it doesnt have to be simultaneous (unless it changed for this rundown)
there may be scans with different mechanics in deeper expeditions, who knows. Even if there were I wouldnt spoil
so you can either rush to all 4 by having people run with the lines as they split
or you can take a more conservative approach and have 2 people cover, 2 do scans, etc
usually the first split you can very easily rush because the wave is still arriving
but any splits afterwards (may be more depending on the difficuty of the mission) you may want to have a plan for that involves some covering fire

advice for those is to make a note of it
try to conserve resources for those doors on future attempts
especially tools
sentries and mines are extremely useful for holding it down while you scan
yeah it was only on our last attempt that we swapped the scanner out for a sentry, in addition to the mines and foam
there are other things you can do with wave manipulation to avoid extra spawns, and you can learn about those at your discretion. some would consider it cheesy to use certain methods so
scanner was a nice starter item, but as we got the hang of the game, it wasnt really all that helpful (for now)
yeah, we're in it to learn as we go, but also have our limits when we're all just thinking "wtf how does this work?"
scanner is one of the tools that scales least with your skill. for most of the last rundown we didnt even run a scanner other than on a1 when we learned stuff
cuz at some point its not helpful to know that theres 20 sleepers in a room kek
its just stressful
i find the scanner mostly useless if the alternative is a machine gun turret.

B1 depends heavily on gunplay
If your group is taking mediocre weapons and isn't doing much damage, you are likely to lose.
If your group takes pretty good weapons and is able to use them effectively, you are likely to win.

Like most things it's pretty repetitive, depends on how much you enjoy watching the game, I wouldn't say there's much 'surprise' but the game is pretty difficult and doesn't scale (designed for 4 people, doesn't get easier/weaker with 1 2 or 3 players). So staying invested into the discussion, lore etc. of the game will help keep it's appeal and enjoyment

It's fun to help others and teach them the game definitely, learn new strategies ands stuff since the game does rotate the levels if i'm not mistaken, each week. It'll probably take most players a week to clear 2 levels if you're still relatively new

I would highly doubt you'd be rebuying the game when it launches, no other game tmk has ever done that. Hunt Showdown/Subnautica/Minecraft never did anything like that, you just continued to play the full game

Just keep in mind, the games 1 years old, a Dev team of 8 or 10 people? Still quite young and you're literally playing a Dungeon Crawl style game but your loadouts are given to you and you don't keep anything upon beating a level.

It can be mybe like 2 weeks, but then we have mayvbe 3 or 4 maps
Not a fan of the MG because of it's "Charge up" time before firing
Plus i prefer the shotgun over it personally
@north cosmos its not the one tap anymore, but the burst can be controlled, its similar to the old one in some ways, in a way its mag got 2x as bigger but the damage didnt scale up so it kinda didnt matter

sick, I didnt get to finish D1 before the end and R2A1 has several scouts and my group usually asks me to snipe them out and i want to figure out the stealthy way of dealing with them
Some are new some have experiience, but there are people who have no problems playing with newcomers
thanks a lot @ashen frost I am fully aware that the dev team is really small, that's why i'm not demanding a lot, But still, i want to know what im going to encounter, as it feels like a AAA game. The only thing that holds me the most is repetitiveness, but still, you're right, the community here is pretty great and anyone can get invested in the games world with his fellow players while waiting for the next update.

and for some reason it still didn't die in one shot?
so the first hit either hit its body or wasnt fully charged
it is possible to hit its neck. The hit box is sometimes wonky.^^

@Stitch626#5163 this is likely an issue with a 3rd party service called platfab used for storing game data
I already checked a few levels to make sure there wasn't some secret, like PDECs to pick up required for unlock.
If it's community based, it's probably a certain percentage of people reaching that point
Or how many runs on average a person does

I wish we could see that, though. Sort of hard to encourage people to help one another out if we get no indication that does something.

im looking at buying this game rn, it looks really fun but what does the skill curve look like?
i've got some friends i usually roll with on tarkov and if its a steep curve i'd want to start out with them
@hardy spire it's a difficult game, it will take practice and isn't just a run and gun. If it's possible to silently take out an enemy with your melee, you want to do that. Ammo isn't something you can waste, nor health or tool packs, but there are certainly situations where you'll be thrown into a fight and get to use your guns and enjoy the shooter aspect of it. As long as everyone is able to have a good time, be patient, willing to learn, and willing to fail but learn from your mistakes then you all will have a great time.

I have a question, me and some friends are currently doing r2b2 and we met a security check with an alarm, there was a lot of big dudes throughout the path to get there (beginning included) and we're wondering if activating the security check will alert all of them or just some that are in proximity.

@heavy depot the security scans make no noise in terms of alerting enemies, only if an alarm is detected, and if one is, it will say in red text
The connection of the game is based on a Peer to Peer connection, @lavish violet , so the only thing you need is people in your area to play with! Don't have to worry about the servers, or at least I haven't seen anyone from the Aus/Asia region say anything about lag other than when they're playing with users from US/Europe
or other areas across the globe y'know, lol

Is anyone else having the bug on r2b1 where behind the bloody doors enemies spawn in the walls above the door?
Yeah, seems a good amount of players have had that happen
so it is definitely something the devs probably already know about, but submitting a bug report using the info in #bug-reporting could help them out

How any recommendations for 2 people doing coop? We have a general strategy for dealing with encounters through stealth, stealth, and more stealth or c-foam + mines or turrets
yeah, mine deployer + shotgun sentry is a good combo for some expeditions, but some others it might be better to bring two shotgun sentries
but just so you know, it is going to be really difficult
I don't recommend you try them duo unless you're looking for that type of challenge
We don't got anyone else to play with us really

Do you need four players for the first level or is there a way of going through it solo. Cause even if I manage to wipe out a wave there isn't enough ammo or time for me to do all the security scans. Especially the very far away ones. I tried it with a friend and again there were just too many. Wanted to know whether I'm just doing it wrong or if I need a whole team. (I don't open any of the security doors I always fully clear rooms with hammer silently).

well, C1 was done only with an exploit
no one did C1 legit, besides kiting with mines
that was the closest to legit, but that was just a constant barrage
nothing too crazy

essentially, use the doors and c foam you have to your advantage
it is best to have done the expedition before hand so you know where you need the doors and where you don't
but if you don't know that, you can still figure it out as you go
just will take a few attempts
I recommend the mine deployer for solo
and the SMG/MG for mass ammo/mag size so you can keep firing
MG for damage, SMG when you need to reload MG or start getting low on ammo with it
use the mines because you can fill it up, deploy mines, then fill it up more
so you can use all the tool refill you find
How do i find power cells on the terminal in c1
they are listed as CELL_###
so you can type: LIST ZONE_778 CELL
and it will tell you the cells in that zone
or just LIST CELL
to see them all, then query them one by one for their zones

Wasn't in Rundown 001, but maybe that changed, haven't tried before, hopefully someone that has can answer your question
It might have just been a bug that one time, so would be good to wait to see other people say if they experienced the same thing
But if it happens again to you some other time, try reporting it in #bug-reporting

Use the "LOGS" command in terminals
@limber bluff Most of the time it's just the automatic log, but some terminals have extra logs.
You can use the "READ" command to view a log.

They kill you instantly up close and 60% near the end of the laser
Blast range till the laser vanishes. Just test it by putting it in an open area to see how long the laser is. blast pattern is cylindrical
so you have a radius around that laser
One cannot kill a giant you need 2
Except the new enemy in ||B1|| and the giants they can kill everything with the maximum dmg.
The striker neesd 3 hits with one in the back of the head
and the shooter needs 4

@amber hawk u can literally see the damage falloff as a bar graph on the mine deployer's display
the mines are shape charges too, so they explode in a line, not outward in all directions like an unshaped charge

i use it to dodge shooter projectiles
altho i actually dont think it works
like u could strafe normally to dodge equally well

like just sprinting or crouching

Yes you can. But if you are new you will prolly have no chance of winning. But you can test the terminal and the stealth approach and of course seeing some enemies^^

Well melee is prolly always better, but if you cant kill them consitently with it, the sniper might be a valid choice.
Does anyone know if Scouts are still a full charge to the head?
I've had several instances where I C-foamed it and charge hit it's head but it didnt die.
Same with some runs I've done with randoms

He's just swapped his laptop display to a different monitor and it looks the same. Should be mentioned his graphical settings are significantly lower

Why do the enemies wake up when I hit one with the hammer?
Do I have to wait until no one is flashing?
if they're glowing and have line of sight when you kill one, they'll wake from a good distance
if they're sleeping, they'll wake from a few meters
the shotgun sentry is rundown specific does that mean it may be unelectable in future rundowns?

But then I heard 2 more waves spawns
your gunshots triggered more scouts
I believe it has something to do with the spwan limit
then maybe they hit the spawn limit and spawned later 
There is a certain number which has to spawn and when the limit is hit to early they are put on hold so they spawn later when the limit is reduced

it doesn't spawn immediately after, and i've noticed during alarm scans once you kill enough (<10ish left), it still doesn't spawn more immediately

A bit, big shooters still seem inconsistent. Big strikers might still have their animation bug but I haven't really gone out of my way to test it. I need to do that.
big strikers seem fixed to me
we managed to duo stealth kill them but they seem to be set on screaming first attacking later
big shooters attack first
Just checked, looks like they their animations are better but they scream too easily.
Might require strats to better upkeep stagger with minimal charge.
I tried it on B2 and never was able to keep them silent
