Actually that's a question I need answered, in the older trailer, there seemed to be narration, story elements, things of a nature that aren't present (Tentacle at the end of the trailer for example) and a feature where one guy has to cut through a door to open it, are these things completely cut from the game?

Mmm, I reckon the elevator should be linked with your progression, e.g. When you start B1, you jump into the lift that takes you there from A1, etc.
@craggy pier I do want to clarify the "there are 6 missions right now" as the system is built around the Rundown concept. The rundown holds expeditions aka missions. This first rundown is 6 expeditions, but that rundown will change, we'll get a new rundown and more expeditions. The rundowns can last anywhere from as short as 1 week to 2 months. So that allows the devs to constantly put out new content to play and keep things fresh.
There's a limited set of weapons to choose from, but as said, there will be more weapons in the future, and eventually customization and progression so you can improve on the weapons you have and make them your own badass weapons.

So D0c, if the tool doth exist, is it being experimented with or do you reckon it's on the back burner for now while the Dev's focus on features?
Unknown if/when it could return. Was something they were experimenting with at one point and probably developed the bio tracker from the concept. Devs naturally experiment with a lot of stuff, trying ideas out and seeing what they like, what sticks, etc.
E.g. The current available scanner, longer range, no team-spread vision, no enemy information, available tracking.
Sexy scanner, shorter range, see through walls, team-spread, enemy model information (So like, how big they are), no tracking
also could be how they load rooms
^ To me that seems like a SOLID balance
But, but you've shown me pretty things now, I can't be teased like that
I do like the idea of having two different scanners with their own drawbacks and the likes though, makes for interesting choice and variation.

Saaaaaaaaaaaaame. And it seems like it's something that could be balanced pretty easily. Whether that be via what I've mentioned or maybe the sick tracker is just as good as the other BUT IT REQUIRES TOOL REFILLS

?suggestion hello there fellow creators. I have an idea on story of GTFO game. The story taking place on some planet. Some science team made an complex underground cause there is not an atmosphere on surface. Its possibly that the red glowing "thing" in mosters is some kind of Alien Organism or Alien virus which infected workers who worked downstairs or scientists. Only the thing is why should a 4 team goin always downstairs? To shut down the Reactor? To pick up some reseach datas? The team can also blow up the whole coplex in the end, the colony is completly ifestaded by those aliens/zombies.

I was under the impression that the 4 dudes were prisoners in cryostasis for crimes they committed which is the reason that they are sent down with minimal supplies (Hence the not max ammo at the start of each mission)

so far the "gamemode" are the expeditions they provide you and your team with different challenges. The story is told via the Worldbuilding and some pieces everywhere. There is no "full" story yet ^^

||they're soft, but since you have a hard time seeing them, especially in fog, hitting them can be an issue. A shotgun blast will settle them||

alarm doors send waves, failure to get the circles fast enough makes more waves

@craggy pier sometimes a good idea is to hsve one person help guard where they will come from, while 3 players get the circles, if done right you can keep many of them from your friends long enough.... well if you have turrets support etc
remember they always tske the shortest path to you, and typically that is from the start of the map, listen for the HOWLS before they appear,it tells you where they come from

the biotracker shows infinite in the top right of the UI for the holder but another person looking at you will see your bio tracker followed by a percentage

question: does revolver kill the scout in one headshot? or is it only the sniper?
D1 last part needs a fix from devs which the mobs would not spawn properly or move correctly/stuck at stairs, i have cleared 9 times and there is at least 2-3 times where the last part of the main mission the monster would not spawn or move properly at all.

@frigid kelp i personally cleared it with 4 shotguns. Trick is set your prioriority to avoid dying. Even if you aren't doing scans, as long as you are alive, you will help by having some of them after you

weapon spread is based off of a weapon, not your players actions

wpn spread is the nature of the wpn and ammunition. recoil is more stable generally crouching, but i dont know if in this game it works...

you can snipe it in the head with rhe sniper only. you can use a full charge hammer and headshot it. you can use foam to frezze it and headshot it with a hammer, you could set mines
once it screams and starts glowing it is invincible until the light goes away shortly after
Also summons another wave of mobs when it glows 👀
are there any benefits to using certain melee weapons
also.. my friends and I have been going up to the monsters and one shotting them, but other ones behind or near are sometimes aggroed randomly, how can we fix this?

you must crouch and stay down and sneak up on them,dont move when they glow.

yes we know that. if we kill one of them while another one is glowing though, it sometimes aggros the one that is glowing next to it

Okay but for real what in gods name is the hellspawn of a tongue that they use to slap/bite you? Is it another entity? Is it the creature that originally killed the human it killed prior? Are they chest hugger type deals? Because if taking the head off doesn't kill sleepers (In some situations) Does that mean that the tongue is actually the weak spot on all sleepers and that destroying the tongue destroys the whole thing? Will it blend? How many does it take to change a lightbulb? Why do they all hibernate? If they've infected several levels of a deep underground complex, how the hell did they traverse between floors when we ride down on a bizarre as hell cryostasis pod? Were they engineered or did the mining team "discover" them? Is this all an elaborate ruse so that the Warden can create these death games as entertainment? WILL THE WARDEN BLEND?

screenshots show the tongue looks like a creature we have in the oceans irl
they're assumed to be fungal/parasites
they likely travel up the central shaft, as indicated by rhem typically spawning at the start of the map
but they must also travel different levels by other means... probably tunneling at worst
they likely hibernate for the same reasons bears do.
the running theory is discovered them, probably in a sealed cave. but some events on some maps might indicate experiments, it could just be scientific study too. the warden doesn't appear to have a "hunger games" setup going, rather a specific set of goals, since most of rhe levels are about "opening to the door" to the later levels, one can infer they're goal lies deep below.

Question: How does the DMR compare to the Pistol and AR? I feel like they dominate the game right now as their ammo/damage ratio is very good but ive seen a lot of players also play the DMR and wanted to know if its better than the two
@runic fox In my honest opinion, I'd actually say the DMR is pretty bad. Based off the sheer amount of enemies in the game and spawned from alarms, unless you can hit every shot perfectly and 1 tap each of the enemies, then the weapon is outclassed heavily by guns of a far better ammo capacity.

xordania, the ddmr is a better version of the sniper
the pistol is a pea shotoer and the ar is always a stable option for people with bad aiming skills @runic fox
if you have good aims then go for dmr as you will it as a good precise weapon, like the revolver, it works well with weapons like the machine gun, or shotguns
Of course the pistol doesnt deal that much damage but the reduced magazine size is good for managing ammo
The SMG deals the least damage in my opinion and together with its recoil makes it bad
The DMR deals the highest damage of the primaries but you need to be accurate and hit your shots since you have very limited ammo capacity
yes, so if you have a good shot use it, if you have a bad shot, use the AR or the smg, but imo the pistol is the worst.

Red Glow sticks simply is just a color change but since the color red is less bright than green it looks like it emits less light
There are fake rumors about them being good for fog or can be hacked with the hack tool (to unlock lockers) to make them brighter but they are all fake

dont know. you can check the roadmap, but i don't think there is a plan for that, its marketed as a 4 player game and is balanced for that

I have everything on low on settings and i only get about 2-5 fps more than max video settings. Is there any trick to fix this. My computer run most games well, however this game i cannot get more than a constant 21-25 fps.

why did the game devs disable that you are able to kill a scout from another room with a sniper without alerting anyone? whats the point of the sniper now
Killing the scout and other big bois from a safe distance with a guaranteed kill.

It seemed to work, and light would go through it too so we could see into the room, but it was very hard to get into position; the angle is bad and there's a weird bar in the way making it very hard to position yourself @hidden zealot
You can parkour right up onto the door so you're up against the gap but you can't move very much without falling off

Hey, thinking about getting the game but through streams and videos I am not sure how the end game content is looking like or if there is a type of progression where you get loot or something if you could extract successfully. Is there something like that?

You copy lobby id in the upper right corner and then share with the players the id. When they copy the lobby number, on their left side a magical red box should show saying to enter the lobby

Why does the Bio Tracker say "Not a moving target" while not allowing me to tag a presumably biological enemy when it isn't a motion tracker?
If it's a motion tracker > useless in GTFO.
If it's a bio tracker > let me tag stationary enemies.
You can tag the enemies when they are moving, such as scouts which is pretty useful, and in dark areas during combat its very useful if the enemies are tagged. At any rate, there is almost always a better option than the biotracker
@craggy pier scouts have to be killed on the first hit before they get triggered when they are set off they briefly become invincible while they scream

the sniper is the only gun that can kill scouts in 1 hit if you headshot besides that you can also kill by making it walk on a mine or full charged melee to the head

can be an easy way to deal with the scout if you don't want to alert the rest of a room
no matchmaking during early access, why? i think it is a great idea to test it before releasing the game. besides, when you implement things like that these days, things tend to get haywire so doing it after getting out of EA is kinda crazy idea when new players pour in clogging the system that might not work as intended. Take a look at Hunt and what happened over there for reference
Thats what I usually do slash haha, c-foam plus hs. I only charge halfway to reserve ammo but also make sure that I get him, and then melee shot to the head :PP You got about 10 seconds before he gets de-foamed, so keep in mind that it might be worth b lining it when hes foamed to make sure he's dead even if you risk the room being alerted
Its way better to alert one room than to deal with a full scout wave + room
To put it simply, because matchmaking is hard, especially trying to get it to properly integrate with steamworks; they're working on it, and it'll almost certainly pop up in EA long before the game is anywhere close to V1, but dealing with trying to get matchmaking to work through steamworks is part of the reason games like Stardew took so long to have a multiplayer mode

Early access is different from the alpha and beta stages the game went through. Also, I'm pretty sure that participating in an alpha or beta of a game doesn't give you access to the full game when it's released.

When you're in the testing phase of a game,
You need your audience to be as broad as possible,
And to have as many opinions as you can gather.
So if you charged money for a testing phase, you'd greatly limit how much feedback you can get.
But no developers ever give out keys to people who participated in early alphas/betas.
There would be no profit from it.
No one would spend their money into a testing phase of a game.
Testing phases are supposed to be free and widely available.
It's justified the game costs money in the EA phase because the devs used our feedback during testing to better the game and add more content at launch.

Sorry for the delayed reply - For some of the entries you do. It's Gleam which works on a sort of ticket-based raffle, you can get tickets by doing certain things (such as following person X, or retweeting X or YouTube subscribing etc). It uses a variety of platforms but if you want the max tickets then you will need a Twitter account to do some of the tasks
I never got around to asking this --are the red glow sticks a unlock/ reward for completing all maps? i completed all maps 3 days after release, but I did not see red glow sticks until i completed D1.
No, they are just rare. I had one run where i got 8(!) lockers with them... and then i had runs where i had none

Had a game last night where every big sleeper we attacked immediately hit us, at one point downing all four of us at once, never seen that before

I've noticed when using list on zones, terminals often list items that are in completely different zones when you actually query them

Big sleepers can be killed in 2-3 hits no problem. I've done it with 2, but done it with 3 consistently. They seem to be weaker in their back, much like the brawlers.
Also @karmic canyon are you listing by "Zone_XX" or "List XX" ? If you want to search a specific zone you need to type "List Zone_XX" Then when you ping stuff it'll tell you which sub-section (A,B,C,etc) it's in.
If you're just typing "List XX" then it'll list everything with those numbers in it. Which can be anything on the map.

Yo guys, I'd like to know where the alarm "hordes" are spawning so we can better reinforce at any given level.
@craggy pier you should hear a loud roar sound in the direction that they are coming from.
From my experience, they can spawn from any entrance you have open to the room
If you have 2 doors, then it's wise to keep an eye on both and check on which one they start breaking
Sadly spawning mechanics is something not explained yet
All i know is they spawn in waves (you'll hear the roar for each wave)
and they are capped
so if you kill a specific number of them
they will spawn another wave
yeah, because the hordes come from any open door, it's good to get alarm doors out of the way early, since they'll be more predictable, and you can thus use your sentries better

basically if you have the resources to get rid of it (and you need to get rid of it), then it's a really good idea to clear it first, so you don't open more entrances

i'll explain further
let's say their range is 10 meters
they will get into a 7 meters range to attack you
so you can't kite them properly
cause they have more range to hit you when yo ufall back
those numbers are only examples and not real ranges btw
so if it's more than 1 enemy (melee)
you will be able to kill one
but the other one will hit you, unless you manage to dodge it
no matter if you run back or forward, he will be in range if you got close enough for a melee hit on one of them
Normally best way to do it is to look for opportunities to get 1 at the time
without letting them group up
my suggestion is, if you see at least 2 melees think carefully about melee, and keep in mind 1 is likely to hit you

ranged guys are mostly an annoyance that become an issue in big groups, cause they don't let you stay still
a good way I've found is to just tap em with one bullet as they glow red to shoot their lampreys and it just completely stun locks them, allowing you to move away
not really great in groups more than you can flick
i mean yea, if you're using guns it's a totally different story
